The CGI look isn't the issue. It's that the movie has a style for which the real people do not fit. Replace the humans with player characters. Blocky and all. There's hundreds of fan animations on RUclips that look better. The HD is fine too. It just needs to be consistent.
When I heard there was going to be a Minecraft movie I was stoked! Then I watched the trailer... I don't like who they cast for Steve, I don't like that Minecraft ITSELF doesn't understand that Piglins can't go into the overworld, and I don't like that they have the sacred Pink Sheep looking ugly! Pink Sheep are supposed to be beautiful creatures! The only thing I liked was how the llama looked. All in all, the movie is gonna be real bad!
i feel like the minecraft movie is made for the majority of minecraft players, younger kids who play single player maybe multiplayer with their freinds not all the sweaty no life hypixel players or big youtubers (or anyone above 13) who are mostly the people criticizing the movie i myself being above 13 am not looking forward to it but i dont think it was made for people like me
In my opinion, there shouldn't be a Minecraft movie. What can you really explore? It would be similar to "Jumanji 2," where you defeat the Ender Dragon and then return to real life. After that, they would be stuck, and there wouldn't be much left to explore. However, the movie could include some good comedy scenes, which would be fun. For the animal aspect, they could use real-life animals and add Minecraft sound effects, which would look more realistic. XD
and you know what's even worse? the fact that was just the teaser, a movie shouldn't be getting so much backlash with just the teaser alone. this is just like the first sonic movie all over again but this time there's more than one mob being turned into a hyper realistic abomination.
the sheep and llama look like they should when ported to live action, I'm gonna get roasted for this but I think they look correct for the minecraft world

Now we at least know that it's going to be a funny movie and comedy based. They also might have something else in the full movie that they didn't show in the trailer to surprise everyone later
