"We have leaned over so far backwards to protect the rights of defendants, that we are at risk of putting the justice system flat on it's back."- Oh how true that is!
Its really not.
Police literally have the right to lie to suspects.
@@shadowrobot7708 it really is
Its better to put a few innocent people in prison then let a hundred guilty criminals walk free...or did I have it backwards?
@@fighder2 What if you were one of those innocent people? Or someone you loved?
Thanks for the early seasons clips. Keep em coming
I definitely prefer these over the last few seasons.i think I may be the only viewer who is not excited about the show returning.
I am so happy that we are getting clips from early seasons is impossible for me to get them in my country 🙂😁
"That's the law." Man.. you can just hear the tears in his voice. Yeesh.
I at first thought the judge was played by Bea Arthur, sadly she is not. Still a good actress though.
So did I!
ooh Bea Arthur as judge. She has the voice and that intimidating stare. I'd watch that.
Me too!
I wonder if they wanted Bea Arthur for the role, but she was unavailable due to scheduling conflicts with The Golden Girls...
@@Unknown-bq9id maybe, that is if golden girls was still running at the time of this episodes release.
the judge looks like dorothy from golden girls lol
This is based on the Robert Chambers case.
Where's the first 12 season of L&O Peacock???

The honorable Dee Arthur presiding...
Before SVU something happened !
Nice
Exactly
Just gotta let it be known, needs more Lupo and Bernard!
No that's okay, more Greevey and Logan please!
absolutely NOT
More Briscoe and... well, more Briscoe anyway.
Husband: "He's not judging you......but I am"
you missed the point of this scene
So does anybody know what happened?
I don't remember all the details but there was a scene in which the lady we saw at the beginning of the video, the one wearing the turtleneck and who has a rough speaking voice, lowered the neck of her sweater and showed that her throat had been slashed by the defendant. That may have been in a courtroom scene and leading to the defendant's conviction. Maybe someone else can confirm or add to this. It's probably been more than twenty years since I saw the lady reveal her throat but I've never forgotten it.
If I recall; Ben gets the defendant to make a statement during examination that allows the other victim to testify as rebuttal. The result is a conviction.
@@skyeangelofdeath7363 Yup. Propensity evidence isn't allowed, unless the accused says something that's false and then you can bring up the earlier incident to rebut.
I remember it as the woman from Boston shows her neck scars to the defendant's fiancee, who then testifies that what she earlier had stated (to cover for the defendant) to be untruthful (that he was with her). That testimony was objected to, but over-ruled. Thus a conviction.
Maud is the judge?

Men be crazy.
That guy needs to shave his beard off and get a haircut.
He reminds me of Ellis from Die Hard.
