Just this past Friday, (12/3) I bought a Sun traditional 7 speed trike. I was seriously considering the Baja, but between the bar situated across the step thru and the difference in price, the Sun traditional was the best choice for me. I was surprised when you mentioned the difference in price to be (you thought) only a couple hundred dollars. Here at least (East Coast, USA), the Baja was twice as expensive (not an e-trike either) than the Sun. 😱 From the comparison in this video, I believe I made the best decision. I did have to add a strap on the left pedal to keep my drop foot from sliding off. Today was the inaugural ride. I hope to get as much use out of my Sun trike as you obviously have gotten out of yours.
Where I live the price difference roughly $400.(sun trike 7spd $700 vs Baja $1100) I think you made the right choice because for most people the traditional sun trike is good enough.
The fat tire bike because I'm 300 lb, and I'll be pulling maybe about 50 to 100 lb on it. But I do love that the other basket is bigger, so if I buy The fat tire I'll have to get someone to mod the basket so it's as big as the regular one.
I have skinny tires on my trike but wanted to upgrade it to fat tires...how can i extend the bolts to fit the fat rims? or do I have to buy the entire back piece to accommodate that?
Cool to see the comparison. I just purchased a Sun Baja 2 weeks ago and ordered it with a 1000 watt Bafang pedal assist. Can’t wait for it to be here. Did the glow ride still happen with all the rain we had? I couldn’t make it but hopefully I’ll be there with the new trike for the next one.
Cycling Trike Unfortunately I don’t think my trike will be here by the 30th. Maybe I can make the one in August. Already bought some lights for it also.
Cycling Trike Going to be 2. I have the Sun Atlas that I had the 3 speed added to & the Sun Baja that will be here in a couple weeks, they are custom building it.
Can you tell me how to lower the seat? I’ve loosened the bolt at the pole under the seat but it won’t go any lower… I’m not short but the seat is too high, help.
Fat tire would do better in snow. But if the places you go 90-95% of the time are plowed then stay with the traditional trike because of less roll resistance then a fat tire and cost less.
I don't know, depends on riding conditions. My trike has 1400mi and the tires look ok. My guess is they will get to 2k before needing to be replaced. Just keep this in mind, smooth roads will eat up mt bike tires faster and gravel and rough surfaces will eat up cruiser bike tire faster. Tires on the fat tire can easily run $50+ per tire and tube can $15+ per tube.
If your talking about my trike, I don't want to put that kind of money into my trike right now but most definitely in the future (2-3yrs). If you are talking about the fat tire trike, I don't own it so I can't do anything to it.

Cool, glow roll didn't happen and was rescheduled to 30th of July. I can't go cuz I have plans that day.

You have 2 trikes now? This one and a sun traditional 3 speed?

Which bike would be better for snow in the city? I have never tried a fat tire before.

A fat tire with electric pedal assist for sure. Check out Utah Trikes here on RUclips. They fab up great trikes and QUADS for the snow.
I need the fat tire trike. Where can I buy in USA? (I do not want ELECTRIC MOTOR). THANK YOU AND GOD BLESS!
How often do you have to replace your tires

@@cyclingtrike4971 thank you for responding.
Nice 👍
would the wider tires fit on the blue bike?
On the rear possible but the front would not you would have to change the front fork
How much do they cost?
My trike $650 and the fat tire was $1100 I think
You didn't even talk about the basket. Looks like your basket is bigger because there's more room with the skinny tires
I made that basket it didn't not come with the trike. This is more of comparison when they are stock
The basket that cames with my trike is small and little bit bigger then the one on the fat tire trike.
Put a 1000 watt front hub motor on that trike mine does 28 miles an hour battery and motor $600
