Ok few things I have learned over the past couple days of YT recommending these videos: 1) I need to get a portfolio if I ever decide to leave my current job 2) I need to make sure I keep learning new tech (because stuff is clearly changing yet again) 3) This lady is definitely a hand talker!

@2310sammy Well depending on what sub section of I.T you are in a good start is right here on RUclips for free. I am in the web development side of things so I have been looking for blogs for starters to keep abreast on what is currently popular or occuring. Dev.to and Medium are good starting points. Once you have figured out what is changing you could maybe find some tutorials on something like Skillshare or again here for free on RUclips. Hope this helps.

I’m in tech as well and currently applying to jobs and was a former admission counselor at UC Berkeys Data Science program I would actually suggest having your RUclips up at top with topics you speak on. I have mine in the top section and have gotten SO much good review, it even leads the employers to watching it! Your channel is great and even employers would benefit from seeing it. Now as a former admission counselor, we easily get resume fatigue so if you can put your RUclips channel on the first page instead of the bottom, I’ll genially be more interested in following up with you. Great video! 🙌🏽✨

Can you tell me which excel fuction and maths are used in your analyst day to day. I want to be data analyst , but I don't have proper idea about Excel and maths bc they have very wide variety of fuction.
@@Ummaruchan Hi Gaurav! That’s a great question. I’m an Analyst but I don’t use Excel heavily because I work with really large data sets. Some standards of Excel are conditional formatting, pivot tables, and some of the following functions: XLOOKUP, VLOOKUP, SUM, CONCATENATION.
Tina, Thanks for pointing out the relevance of portfolio projects for startups as against for most big corporate job applications. Most big corporates don’t really care about your portfolio, they just want a bulky CV. But guess Startups are the big deal now & people are trying towards working in one, so I guess they’d prioritize building up their projects portfolio alongside their Cv.

Just wondering if it would be possible for you to consider making a video on why you made the big decision to switch tracks from being a pre-med (since you did so well academically) to com science? I'm sure there's a larger audience out there facing similar career dilemmas in their pre-med undergrad, or others thinking of pivoting to com science. I feel there's some unique wisdom here that ought to be shared ^^

Oh sure! it kinda depends on my mood tbh because sometimes I just feel like filming and don't really script that much except write down some stuff that I want to talk about. Example of this is the how I would learn to code video. Other times like this I just type out first draft and then give it a few days and edit the draft the morning before filming.
Hmm how come? I think maybe if I were a web dev person or interested in that area it would make sense but given my profile I think this is sufficient (and tbh prob nicer than I could make from scratch) 😊
Good question! I think it depends on what kind of job you’re going for. If you’re going for web development, design, UX/UI or related then don’t use something like this for sure haha. But say you’re a data scientist, data engineer, or swe then why not! It’s a convenient and nice looking way of displaying your portfolio.

Nope! Sadly :( mm I think GitHub also works! You’re just limited to more technical things, which is probably nbd if you’re a technical person. Also GitHub is great to show contributions etc.
