@@DipaoloAki I think it's not a great Idea. Making faces in video games is one hell of a challenge and take too much time. If you look a the characters on the ship, their faces are far from being AAA. Doing so would also break the aspect of a nameless HellDiver.
The kids didn’t play nice with the shrapnel, as a lvl 141 it was too many team kills. 20 year olds and below play this, with no tactical training or mindset.
They actually have some pretty good reasons as to why it's gone but they could've literally just added a bigger explosion radius and it would function the same since shrapnel had no visuals. Maybe one day TwT
Fun fact, the bushwhacker shorty can easily 1 shot an Automaton Berserkers with the All-Barrels mode Edit : Theres also the fact that it staggers HARD, even against med armored enemies such as shield or rocket devestators, or the shielded bugs at nearly any distance Do note that i think its not a bug, the gun is fucking useless and AH should definitely never touch it in it's current state :)
Idk , I can not agree about the knife because - 1. It takes a grenade slot / 2. You can not meele with it / 3. You can't pick it back up. Yeah it does have alright single target stagger but if you want to kill a group of enemies in one go , yeah....
Take a grenade pistol, its there to serve the same things unless you're only using it for bug holes/ botfabs, which, yes, it serves it's utility purpose, but it defeats the purpose of a grenade pistol killing groups of enemies. Or at least take a mobbing support weapon and it'll fill that role nicely. The knife itself I thought is a cool addition, but I think the devs might add the melee option in the future while also adding the ability to pick them up afterwards
Ehhh it gives you 8 of em so running around picking up knives sounds like a hassle. Also I don't want my minimap covered with 80 knives that are available for pickup. Also probably way more complex adding in pickup function for grenade slot items when that isn't part of the base game, you just have to treat them like grenades.
If you want to kill a group of enemies at one time why tf would you pick the knife? This is a retarded complaint. OBVIOUSLY it can’t kill multiple targets. It’s a fckn knife. If that’s your goal with that weapon slot then take a grenade.
If you don't think the Bushwhacker is effective against Bots, then you're likely just using it wrong. Sure, you are limited in 3 shots and the drop-off is pretty quick, but its best used as a Secondary. It has stagger (even against Shield Devastators if you hit them over the shoulder). Its best used at close range when people close that distance on you. So if you run a ranged primary, or simply run out of ammo, quick switch to the Bushwhacker, barrel dump, then run or reload. It also works if you want to quick stagger a devastator then swap to your primary for a headshot or to give yourself a second to find cover. I used it all morning and I love it.
While today might not have lived up to everyones expectations, I think it was overall a great day for helldivers 2, and is 100% a step in the right direction.

@@justyouraveragem4a136 He's def overhyping them though. The carbine is just a Liberator sidegrade, which is already an extremely mid weapon. Not bad, but not that noteworthy either. The knife is a straight-up joke weapon. As of yet, I have no idea why you'd bring this over grenades. The Bushwacker is ok. Effective at what it does, but like all other secondaries, it still doesn't keep up with the Grenade Pistol. The value of switching out a mostly redundant weapon for more explosive utility is just too good.
@@BackwardsPancake Liberator is far from just a mid weapon especially after its durable damage buff, you just need to know where to shoot rather than just mag dumping any enemy you see, this same argument goes for the Liberator Carbine except it prioritizes more close range action rather than engaging enemies at medium range Throwing knives are mostly for stealth play but other than that yes they aren’t exactly great Grenade Pistol really isn’t the only secondary worth using imo, while the ability to blow up fabricators and bug holes with it isn’t too bad it fails as a backup weapon in hairy situations, which while it’s not of course the best at the Bushwacker really isn’t bad, especially with the potential to one shot Berserkers and Brood Commanders when firing all shells
I am in love with the shotgun sidearm, if you are running away from many little bugs/bots, BAM BAM BAM and most of them are gone (if they're bunched up a bit), if you're running away from big bugs/berserker bots, BIG BAM and one of them just get's sent to the aether. A really fun thing to do is to shoot 3 rounds at once at a buggo the same size or smaller than a warrior and they literally explode. I think it also has the most amount of damage for any non-strat weapon (if you use all 3 rounds at once)
The Bushwhacker got me feeling like Ash from Evil Dead 2: "This... is my BOOMSTICK!" Nothing funnier than waiting for a Brood Commander to charge me and just taking its head off in one shot with the all barrel mode and watching my camera snap to the moon. Love the weapon so far!
Agreed, though I wish the texture of the helmet matched the armor - beat up and scratched. The helmet is too shiny and new... doesn't match. That and I don't like that the beret is reversed. Normally, berets bash to the right, not the left. There are exceptions, but it's extremely rare. BUT, those are just nitpicks. Overall, I love everything we've received.

They NEED to make the knife being used in melee and deal even more damage. And I hoped the warbond would cost a bit less, considering we're not getting as much "usefull" stuff as usual.

We seriously need a weapon range to test things. I'd like to see if the weapon handling buff in the new armor is worth giving up two extra grenades for, and right now, I'd have to go into games and test it
The Buff definitely made a difference for the weapons that werent being used cause they "sucked" which was nice to see. Gonna miss the infinite grenade glitch cause that shit was fun to screw around with
Glad that bug is gone, I was getting tired of kicking people that abuse it to make the game too easy, I don't need your mindless impact grenade spam to win.
@@Budorb You can do that without the bug too, you get so many bombs and refills anyway, and if you want even more bombs there is an armor passive that increases the bomb carry limit by +2 anyway, but this bug was genuinely a problem that needed to be fixed especially when you're quick matching and in the lobby you joined someone is just abusing this bug and the host doesn't kick that person.
Yeah this armor perk is kind of a dud. Right now, melee still only matters because of its stun component, and the weapon handling speed boost just doesn't feel meaningful enough.

although it could potentially be op, I think it would be neat for the servo assisted armour to have a different trait than just throwing grenades farther, such as being able to use primaries with one hand at a accuracy loss. This would allow for some interesting weapon parings with the ballistic shield at the cost of not being able aim and recoil management. Stratagem weapons would remain 2 handed.
My visual of this is someone hooking the butt of the gun under their robotic servo arm, shooting the weapons terminator style from the hip, leaving the other arm free
I've seen some gameplay of the bushwhacker vs berserkers, and that was enough to convince me to run it against bots because those buggers are the bane of my existence
I am SERIOUSLY impressed with the Liberator Carbine and the new secondary shotgun after trying them out. VERY impressed. I am even okay with the Liberator running through ammo because it has a fast reload, and 7 mags - and it is BEEFY. Takes out Automotons like BUTTER. I'd like to see it have 10 mags, but I am fine with 7. Has a crazy recoil, but easy to deal with once you make yourself aware of it. The HMG Machine Gun Emplacement has also gotten a buff in turn speed, and it is CRAZY good now. Don't sleep on it. Looks like HD2 is going to be fun again....
Wow I just tested it against bots and found that it could barely take out the normal humanoid bots without at least 2-3 burst shots which is almost 1/3 to 1/2 a mag!
We are still in the honeymoon phase for this warbond. A few days will go by and we will all say yeah there isn't much here to use besides the skins and emote. Assualt rifles still needs buffs for them to be decent lol the shotgun and throwing knife are niche memes only. Better options still. But Viper Commando > Polar Patriots
Kinda seems like having fewer guns but allowing for different ammo types would've been the way to go in this game. Sometimes feels like too many guns that are too close together in function, and adding more guns on top of that forces them to have to keep "balancing" their attributes out. 1 or 2 guns in several categories that could be loaded with different kinds of ammo might've been easier to handle.
I love the "new weapons are good guys!" Primary: Can't kill a hive guard in less than one magazin and do the same thing than other weapon against automaton. Secondary: Have a hard time against most of the medium target that you kill before they come close anyway but yeah its the best weapon of the pack I admit. Knife: "Look you have 8 knifes WHOOO!" they are... maybe 30 40 or 50 if not more enemies coming for you why trow a knife who kill just one when you have grenades and can't pick up the knife? I'm happy that they tried to had new think with the knife ans secondary shotgun but its far from interesting to play in higger difficulty seeing how it perform in my opinion.
And again, i prefer the default liberator over the new flavor. It is just perfectly balanced, has no real downsides, any sidegrade, like this one, will give you one upgrade in exchange for one downgrade... and the downgrade they have to do in exchange to keep it balanced always just make it feel worse. Higher rate of fire, neat, but at the cost of so much recoil? Go in third person and go full auto, it jumps way up, even mid range it is annoying to use and so far we've been playing at the same engangement ranges on all maps since launch, maybe this is tailor made to fight the illuminate on that jungle planet... i don't feel like it does anything better than the default liberator anyway. The skin is cool though. The Shotgun is pretty OK i think.
It’s pretty. Not convinced by the handling buff in the new armour yet. More testing needed. The new liberator is now the best liberator, not saying much after tenderiser and ajudicator just got buffed. 3 barrel dawn off is almost as accurate as the break action and breaker, was fun but I went right back to my GL-pistol. Knife no stats and I can’t get yet. Tho, no boom, no utility, why isn’t this a secondary weapon? Zero interest in mech skins as the mech are still worthless.
New liberator: overall great weapon! Video footage: 3 full mags to kill 5 bugs... Knife: awesome! Video: 3-4 to kill 1 medium bug, and can't melee.. A 3 shot close range shotgun that deals little to no damage to medium bugs. Overall insanely good warbond(sarcasm included)

Tbh by looking at the gameplay clips, this warbond seems rather mediocre, so I think I'm gonna pass. Luckily thanks to the new patch I've got plenty of old/new stuff to play with already
The experimental stims and the bushwhacker are pretty good (speaking against bots) and the theme isn't pretty bad, I mean polar patriots were way worse I wonder if they will nerf experimental stims because it's pretty good, fun and saves you from bad situations
was hoping the carbine would be small enough to be one handed but then again we'd step on the SMG's toes. Still my most requested next weapons are a laser Sickle like smg and MG43, all pew pew laser with the heat management I am now used to with the Sickle primary. Not more beams.
HD1 had a laser SMG. That one had a "fixed focus step" beam, which meant that the beam just cuts off at a specific range. You never had to worry about running out of ammo with, though. Even if it overheated, you didn't replace the heat sink, you just let it cool down. It was truly an infinite ammo weapon. It seems AH wants to bring back weapons from HD1, so if we get a laser SMG, don't be surprised if it's the HD1 Tanto.
Feels like the knife needs a bit more armor pen and damage considering it is single target. Should at least be able to one shot a devastator if you hit the right spots I feel. Give it that, the ability to melee with it and the ability to retrieve the knives and we good.
I was honestly worried the Libby Carbine would just be overshadowed by the Liberator and Tenderizer especially after it’s buff, but I’m well satisfied that it’s a mean machine, thing melts anything that even dares to show a weak point on it, definitely glad with this Warbond’s weapon quality
The real winner of this patch is me. I loved the orbital precision strike already, killing bile titans with it or chucking it at a factory strider felt incredible to begin with but now it's so much easier and quicker to do. The spear was already something I adored using, now it's consistent as hell. And finally, they buffed both the rocket sentry AND the HMG as well. It's like my entire loadout was made far more viable in every way. Tenderizer also feels great against bots now, it's so easy to two shot devastators in the head with it. Insane patch, made the game a ton more fun.

I like the bushwacker for the berserker bots, by the time they get to you, you can finish them off with the shotty, which is nice when you're running the plasma shotgun.
I think the skins are nice, and the victory pose even but im really not impressed with the weapons/knife. I dont feel like there is any advantage of taking those over the current stock, and if im totally honest its more of a disadvantage if any
@@SlimKognito11 The shotgun has utility for stunning Devastators and one shotting brood commanders and Berserkers. It’s not the best secondary in the game but it fills its specific niche.
Knive idea is cool and pretty thematic for warbond but i just dont see myself picking knive over any grenade and in my built STUN grenade is a must + grenade pistol for fabricators and bug holes
Agreed. I still find myself leaning towards utility with my builds, flavor be damned, and that means using the same 2-3 weapons per slot since Democratic Detonation in April.

I dont see any testing other than missing 60% of your shots and saying how good they are. Are you even playing on helldive to test this now that the UI is gone? You should be clear this is a REVIEW! Testing would imply you tested how lethal these weapons are against light, medium, heavy infantry and weak spots. I saw none of that with mediocre gameplay that depressed me. 3 senator shots can pop a brood commander head so I desperately wanted to see the shotgun in action but you literally cant shoot straight to even consider "testing" anything. Truly helldiver content creators are beyond worthless in every regard. Thanks for nothing.
I'd like the choice to take the Engineer armor's extra grenades as a second type. Really make a flexible build. 4 Impact/2 Stun? 4 Stun/2 Smoke? Yes, please! Might even take these throwing knives as a laugh.
The Tenderiser still feels lame. The new liberator is pretty good but it's terrible against bots imo. This warbond is okay, it's not bad but it wasn't as good as I was hoping for.
I mean, the new armor gives you the Peak Physique, and that enhances something about melee, so we'd have more of a reason to wear the armor sets if the throwing knife was melee knife too, hopefully they add a normal army knife in the future.
You don't want to be 18 months into this game with 59 different primaries to choose from, 14 secondaries, 18 thrown, and 85 stratagems. Getting a team loaded in would take longer than 40 minutes!
I would just leave any lobbies with indecisive players. In any case, it seems that even with weapon buffs most players are going to stick with the meta anyway.
i have yet to try out the new Carbine since i have been having too much fun with the Tenderizer since it's buff. I really loved it's accuracy and now that it actually hits like a truck compared to other AR's. It has become my go to weapon. I will eventually try out the new Carbine but in all honesty i just seen it as a faster shooting Liberator so it wasn't a priority for me to try out. But i do love the new armors. Only thing bugging me about this update is the crashing whenever you pause on PC but the devs are working on fixing it. I don't know why i have a sudden compulsion to pause in game when i don't normally pause in game. But for some reason i do
The tenderizer didn’t really get a buff. Slight dmg increase but bro it had its magic size and amount decreased. It got nerfed and it was already shit lol
@ifoundmemallet3394 I think you are confused with something else- the tenderizer got a buff to 90 damage and is incredibly accurate. Still has the same 30 round mag as before. It's now like the battle rifle in halo

So, I know you can't melee with the throwing knife, But I wonder if the new armor passive increases its damage. Like, does the throwing knife count as melee damage? Because that would be super dope if it did.
No offense, if I sound a little harsh. But I don't understand all this sugarcoating. The warbond really looks cool, yes! But in practice the weapons aren't good. Other weapons with medium armor penetration do barely a good job. Many strategems don't kill properly and I've seen countless moments where Scavengers crawling happily out of a 500 kg bomb explosion. The Liberator Carbine only has light armor penetration and the same stats like the normal Liberator. Except the fire rate. It shoots faster and that's the reason why it has a little higher recoil. And the knifes... well... it uses the grenade slot. If you are *VERY* lucky you can kill 8 enemies with the 8 knifes. Thats all. If we could pick them up again it would be a little consolation. My tip: Take contact grenades for damage and kill more enemies with just one grenade or take the stun grenade like me. They are very helpful. I'm not going too much into detail. I just don't understand why the developers don't take ideas from their first game. It is greatly balanced and there are super cool weapons and strategems.
Agreed, this can even barely pass as a proper analysis, he didn’t elaborate on a single point and just saying “uhh yeah I think its good” and the footage also shows him having an hard time with the carabine and even dying while trying to use the knife. I played today and I didn’t see a SOUL use the new carabine. Seems like people already gave up on it.
Couple things. 1. Does the throwing knife use melee damage modifiers? (ie does the new passive buff its damage) Assuming the throw distance makes it easier to land shots with it so there's that combo. 2. Knife works very well for stealth gameplay. I've knifed a shield decastator in the backpack four times and it didn't so much as turn even when I was turning it into a pincushion. Icing on the cake is that refilling nades refills ALL knife charges instead of just 2. Bring a supply bag and go medieval on them.

On the subject of some weapons being better against one enemy vs another, I think the concept should be bullets and explosives work equally well against everything, incendiary works the best against bugs, armor piercing works best against bots, and energy-based would work best against the Illuminate...when they eventually drop. Also, this isn't to say, for example, incendiary weapons don't work against the bots or the squids, they would still do damage, it's just that fire would work best against the bugs.
I'm just happy that this patch didn't sabotage the game, and mostly added to it! Though I have some grips with the update, by the by I'll take it and look forward to the future of better content updates like this!

@GlitchUnlimited It really just comes down to precision use with it. It's real easy to flame out Devastator faces with it, like any shotgun. You just have to have good shot placement. This has been made easier by one of the silent changes in the newest patch, both the 3rd person aim circle and most 1st person reticle are far more accurate and smaller, so you can tell how precise you're actually being. The railgun's ADS sight is now pinpoint accurate and small.
Unfortunately it's random after you die. Would have liked to have more armor customization for the future. Very cool looking armor though and the dudes are ripped hahaha
Please, don't make the new AR sounds good, it isn't. You are always below 2-3 mags (ammos vanish as fast as ice under summer's sun) and the recoil is so big that you miss more than half your shots in bots weakspots. And the knife is just a meme, people will just equip it once to do a Rambo cosplay and that's it. This thing isn't worth a grenade slot. Only the mini shotgun looks nice. This warbond is bad, exactly like the one before it.
I feel I'm missing something here. I saw you unloading your rifle multiple times into a swarm and nothing died - "Great job at taking out bugs". You unloaded the shotgun multiple times and killed like one Brood Commander. One took 3 shots to the face and lived but against the bugs it's "actually incredible"?. How? What you're saying and what we're seeing on screen look vastly different. Genuinely curious what you find incredible about them.
The throwing knife is not good for bug missions in my opinion, just because of the bug holes. But it’s something different, it’s not the same, and it’s unique.

I think the AR could go for having 10 spare mags, since its a bullet hose, being limited to 7 is a very strange choice. The others are gimmicky but the buffs and the drip are def the highlights this warbond
Ok if you are playing difficulty 5 or below these are fine and fun. Knives have no place at 7-9 imo. bushwacker from your clip seemed unusable. Imo the knives should one shot anything a impact does. It honest should 2 headshot a charger if you want see it get any play vs bugs. Why? Well you lose you ability to close bug holes. Now if you already have nade pistol sure, but make sure to get the nade pistol before running this. But I can kill 2-3 spewers with impact when bunched up. They need to make guns that HAVE a roll. Should improve the knives damage or give you a way more than 8.
I do think the new secondary shot gun is great against bots. It can 1 shot the Berserkers with 1 barrel, which means 3 in total. It can also kill the Hulks in a so amazing quick speed with a stun grenade. But against bugs? ...Well, they're just too many. I'll rather choose the pistols.

The knife being good for the walkers is kinda moot when a single impact grenade can take out a group of them. Also, imo the animation of the knife in-flight looks silly. It's not spinning end over end, it looks more like it's flapping side to side. Edit: on slowing down the video the knife is actually flying sideways lmao. I'm not a huge assault rifle fan, preferring more precision shot type weapons, so anything on the carbine from me is just noise. Seems alright though. Shotgun has some pros and cons, especially on bugs. I would mainly use it as a stagger weapon for charging hive guards or a spewer perhaps, or using its magdump option to put them out of your misery. In terms of defending yourself from hunters dogpiling on you when your primary's out of ammo, the better option would be the smg secondary.

And that somehow answers both of my questions?? Look, the melee thing is not all that big of a deal. I want to be able to pick up the throwing knife after I've thrown it. Also, it really needs to be in it's own utility slot. No one is going to regularly use knives over grenades.

Holding the knife all the way might not give boost in damage, but it does boost badassery.
Never felt more like a Helldiver until recently. Those throwing knives give you certain feeling when you nail Strider in the dome.
Badassery is the first step towards Liberty Helldiver
I still wait for my Helldiver to "heft" strategems when distance matters so they can be thrown farther.

The kids didn’t play nice with the shrapnel, as a lvl 141 it was too many team kills. 20 year olds and below play this, with no tactical training or mindset.
They actually have some pretty good reasons as to why it's gone but they could've literally just added a bigger explosion radius and it would function the same since shrapnel had no visuals. Maybe one day TwT

Idk , I can not agree about the knife because - 1. It takes a grenade slot / 2. You can not meele with it / 3. You can't pick it back up. Yeah it does have alright single target stagger but if you want to kill a group of enemies in one go , yeah....
Take a grenade pistol, its there to serve the same things unless you're only using it for bug holes/ botfabs, which, yes, it serves it's utility purpose, but it defeats the purpose of a grenade pistol killing groups of enemies. Or at least take a mobbing support weapon and it'll fill that role nicely. The knife itself I thought is a cool addition, but I think the devs might add the melee option in the future while also adding the ability to pick them up afterwards
Ehhh it gives you 8 of em so running around picking up knives sounds like a hassle. Also I don't want my minimap covered with 80 knives that are available for pickup. Also probably way more complex adding in pickup function for grenade slot items when that isn't part of the base game, you just have to treat them like grenades.

If you don't think the Bushwhacker is effective against Bots, then you're likely just using it wrong. Sure, you are limited in 3 shots and the drop-off is pretty quick, but its best used as a Secondary. It has stagger (even against Shield Devastators if you hit them over the shoulder). Its best used at close range when people close that distance on you. So if you run a ranged primary, or simply run out of ammo, quick switch to the Bushwhacker, barrel dump, then run or reload. It also works if you want to quick stagger a devastator then swap to your primary for a headshot or to give yourself a second to find cover. I used it all morning and I love it.

While today might not have lived up to everyones expectations, I think it was overall a great day for helldivers 2, and is 100% a step in the right direction.

The carbine is just a Liberator sidegrade, which is already an extremely mid weapon. Not bad, but not that noteworthy either.
The knife is a straight-up joke weapon. As of yet, I have no idea why you'd bring this over grenades.
The Bushwacker is ok. Effective at what it does, but like all other secondaries, it still doesn't keep up with the Grenade Pistol. The value of switching out a mostly redundant weapon for more explosive utility is just too good.

Throwing knives are mostly for stealth play but other than that yes they aren’t exactly great
Grenade Pistol really isn’t the only secondary worth using imo, while the ability to blow up fabricators and bug holes with it isn’t too bad it fails as a backup weapon in hairy situations, which while it’s not of course the best at the Bushwacker really isn’t bad, especially with the potential to one shot Berserkers and Brood Commanders when firing all shells
The new shotgun is amazing against berserker, if you use the triple shoot it's just one tap.
Especially, you can two shot them if you hit them in the waist as well
One tap means in one hit, not in one round of cartridges.

I am in love with the shotgun sidearm, if you are running away from many little bugs/bots, BAM BAM BAM and most of them are gone (if they're bunched up a bit), if you're running away from big bugs/berserker bots, BIG BAM and one of them just get's sent to the aether.
A really fun thing to do is to shoot 3 rounds at once at a buggo the same size or smaller than a warrior and they literally explode.
I think it also has the most amount of damage for any non-strat weapon (if you use all 3 rounds at once)

Nothing funnier than waiting for a Brood Commander to charge me and just taking its head off in one shot with the all barrel mode and watching my camera snap to the moon. Love the weapon so far!

Agreed, though I wish the texture of the helmet matched the armor - beat up and scratched. The helmet is too shiny and new... doesn't match. That and I don't like that the beret is reversed. Normally, berets bash to the right, not the left. There are exceptions, but it's extremely rare. BUT, those are just nitpicks. Overall, I love everything we've received.
Until you get used to the way the weapon has changed....and then go to a mission you need or want a different set.....only to find you cant hit shit

@@Budorb You can do that without the bug too, you get so many bombs and refills anyway, and if you want even more bombs there is an armor passive that increases the bomb carry limit by +2 anyway, but this bug was genuinely a problem that needed to be fixed especially when you're quick matching and in the lobby you joined someone is just abusing this bug and the host doesn't kick that person.

Right now, melee still only matters because of its stun component, and the weapon handling speed boost just doesn't feel meaningful enough.

although it could potentially be op, I think it would be neat for the servo assisted armour to have a different trait than just throwing grenades farther, such as being able to use primaries with one hand at a accuracy loss. This would allow for some interesting weapon parings with the ballistic shield at the cost of not being able aim and recoil management. Stratagem weapons would remain 2 handed.
My visual of this is someone hooking the butt of the gun under their robotic servo arm, shooting the weapons terminator style from the hip, leaving the other arm free

I've seen some gameplay of the bushwhacker vs berserkers, and that was enough to convince me to run it against bots because those buggers are the bane of my existence

I am SERIOUSLY impressed with the Liberator Carbine and the new secondary shotgun after trying them out. VERY impressed. I am even okay with the Liberator running through ammo because it has a fast reload, and 7 mags - and it is BEEFY. Takes out Automotons like BUTTER. I'd like to see it have 10 mags, but I am fine with 7. Has a crazy recoil, but easy to deal with once you make yourself aware of it. The HMG Machine Gun Emplacement has also gotten a buff in turn speed, and it is CRAZY good now. Don't sleep on it.

Wow I just tested it against bots and found that it could barely take out the normal humanoid bots without at least 2-3 burst shots which is almost 1/3 to 1/2 a mag!
Disagree, for The small bots it works good, but it feels like anything armored you have to hit weak spots and other options can just do bith better
We are still in the honeymoon phase for this warbond. A few days will go by and we will all say yeah there isn't much here to use besides the skins and emote. Assualt rifles still needs buffs for them to be decent lol the shotgun and throwing knife are niche memes only. Better options still. But Viper Commando > Polar Patriots
Kinda seems like having fewer guns but allowing for different ammo types would've been the way to go in this game. Sometimes feels like too many guns that are too close together in function, and adding more guns on top of that forces them to have to keep "balancing" their attributes out. 1 or 2 guns in several categories that could be loaded with different kinds of ammo might've been easier to handle.
I love the "new weapons are good guys!"
Primary: Can't kill a hive guard in less than one magazin and do the same thing than other weapon against automaton.
Secondary: Have a hard time against most of the medium target that you kill before they come close anyway but yeah its the best weapon of the pack I admit.
Knife: "Look you have 8 knifes WHOOO!" they are... maybe 30 40 or 50 if not more enemies coming for you why trow a knife who kill just one when you have grenades and can't pick up the knife?
I'm happy that they tried to had new think with the knife ans secondary shotgun but its far from interesting to play in higger difficulty seeing how it perform in my opinion.
The Knife is totally just a joke weapon, more than likely an homage to the Starship Troopers training scene.
And again, i prefer the default liberator over the new flavor.
It is just perfectly balanced, has no real downsides, any sidegrade, like this one, will give you one upgrade in exchange for one downgrade...
and the downgrade they have to do in exchange to keep it balanced always just make it feel worse.

Go in third person and go full auto, it jumps way up, even mid range it is annoying to use and so far we've been playing at the same engangement ranges on all maps since launch, maybe this is tailor made to fight the illuminate on that jungle planet... i don't feel like it does anything better than the default liberator anyway.

The experimental stims and the bushwhacker are pretty good (speaking against bots) and the theme isn't pretty bad, I mean polar patriots were way worse

was hoping the carbine would be small enough to be one handed but then again we'd step on the SMG's toes. Still my most requested next weapons are a laser Sickle like smg and MG43, all pew pew laser with the heat management I am now used to with the Sickle primary. Not more beams.
HD1 had a laser SMG. That one had a "fixed focus step" beam, which meant that the beam just cuts off at a specific range. You never had to worry about running out of ammo with, though. Even if it overheated, you didn't replace the heat sink, you just let it cool down. It was truly an infinite ammo weapon. It seems AH wants to bring back weapons from HD1, so if we get a laser SMG, don't be surprised if it's the HD1 Tanto.
Feels like the knife needs a bit more armor pen and damage considering it is single target. Should at least be able to one shot a devastator if you hit the right spots I feel. Give it that, the ability to melee with it and the ability to retrieve the knives and we good.
I was honestly worried the Libby Carbine would just be overshadowed by the Liberator and Tenderizer especially after it’s buff, but I’m well satisfied that it’s a mean machine, thing melts anything that even dares to show a weak point on it, definitely glad with this Warbond’s weapon quality
The real winner of this patch is me. I loved the orbital precision strike already, killing bile titans with it or chucking it at a factory strider felt incredible to begin with but now it's so much easier and quicker to do. The spear was already something I adored using, now it's consistent as hell. And finally, they buffed both the rocket sentry AND the HMG as well. It's like my entire loadout was made far more viable in every way. Tenderizer also feels great against bots now, it's so easy to two shot devastators in the head with it. Insane patch, made the game a ton more fun.

I like the bushwacker for the berserker bots, by the time they get to you, you can finish them off with the shotty, which is nice when you're running the plasma shotgun.
They need to start adding custom parts like larger mags and you ise your rec points for them
I think the skins are nice, and the victory pose even but im really not impressed with the weapons/knife. I dont feel like there is any advantage of taking those over the current stock, and if im totally honest its more of a disadvantage if any

Knive idea is cool and pretty thematic for warbond but i just dont see myself picking knive over any grenade and in my built STUN grenade is a must + grenade pistol for fabricators and bug holes

I dont see any testing other than missing 60% of your shots and saying how good they are. Are you even playing on helldive to test this now that the UI is gone? You should be clear this is a REVIEW! Testing would imply you tested how lethal these weapons are against light, medium, heavy infantry and weak spots. I saw none of that with mediocre gameplay that depressed me. 3 senator shots can pop a brood commander head so I desperately wanted to see the shotgun in action but you literally cant shoot straight to even consider "testing" anything. Truly helldiver content creators are beyond worthless in every regard. Thanks for nothing.
I am hoping eventually we can take nades and by equiping the knife it just changes our melee attack into a knife throw, while supplies last.
I'd like the choice to take the Engineer armor's extra grenades as a second type. Really make a flexible build. 4 Impact/2 Stun? 4 Stun/2 Smoke? Yes, please!

I mean, the new armor gives you the Peak Physique, and that enhances something about melee, so we'd have more of a reason to wear the armor sets if the throwing knife was melee knife too, hopefully they add a normal army knife in the future.
You don't want to be 18 months into this game with 59 different primaries to choose from, 14 secondaries, 18 thrown, and 85 stratagems. Getting a team loaded in would take longer than 40 minutes!

i have yet to try out the new Carbine since i have been having too much fun with the Tenderizer since it's buff. I really loved it's accuracy and now that it actually hits like a truck compared to other AR's. It has become my go to weapon. I will eventually try out the new Carbine but in all honesty i just seen it as a faster shooting Liberator so it wasn't a priority for me to try out. But i do love the new armors. Only thing bugging me about this update is the crashing whenever you pause on PC but the devs are working on fixing it. I don't know why i have a sudden compulsion to pause in game when i don't normally pause in game. But for some reason i do
The tenderizer didn’t really get a buff. Slight dmg increase but bro it had its magic size and amount decreased. It got nerfed and it was already shit lol

So, I know you can't melee with the throwing knife, But I wonder if the new armor passive increases its damage. Like, does the throwing knife count as melee damage? Because that would be super dope if it did.
No offense, if I sound a little harsh. But I don't understand all this sugarcoating. The warbond really looks cool, yes! But in practice the weapons aren't good. Other weapons with medium armor penetration do barely a good job. Many strategems don't kill properly and I've seen countless moments where Scavengers crawling happily out of a 500 kg bomb explosion.
The Liberator Carbine only has light armor penetration and the same stats like the normal Liberator. Except the fire rate. It shoots faster and that's the reason why it has a little higher recoil.
And the knifes... well... it uses the grenade slot. If you are *VERY* lucky you can kill 8 enemies with the 8 knifes. Thats all. If we could pick them up again it would be a little consolation. My tip: Take contact grenades for damage and kill more enemies with just one grenade or take the stun grenade like me. They are very helpful.
I'm not going too much into detail. I just don't understand why the developers don't take ideas from their first game. It is greatly balanced and there are super cool weapons and strategems.
Agreed, this can even barely pass as a proper analysis, he didn’t elaborate on a single point and just saying “uhh yeah I think its good” and the footage also shows him having an hard time with the carabine and even dying while trying to use the knife. I played today and I didn’t see a SOUL use the new carabine. Seems like people already gave up on it.

The 1 bullet reload has to be the most infuriating thing in gaming history
Couple things.
1. Does the throwing knife use melee damage modifiers? (ie does the new passive buff its damage)
Assuming the throw distance makes it easier to land shots with it so there's that combo.
2. Knife works very well for stealth gameplay. I've knifed a shield decastator in the backpack four times and it didn't so much as turn even when I was turning it into a pincushion. Icing on the cake is that refilling nades refills ALL knife charges instead of just 2. Bring a supply bag and go medieval on them.

On the subject of some weapons being better against one enemy vs another, I think the concept should be bullets and explosives work equally well against everything, incendiary works the best against bugs, armor piercing works best against bots, and energy-based would work best against the Illuminate...when they eventually drop. Also, this isn't to say, for example, incendiary weapons don't work against the bots or the squids, they would still do damage, it's just that fire would work best against the bugs.
I'm just happy that this patch didn't sabotage the game, and mostly added to it! Though I have some grips with the update, by the by I'll take it and look forward to the future of better content updates like this!

The amount of enemies you can take out with 8 throwing knives is 10x less than the amount of enemies you can take out with ONE grenade

@GlitchUnlimited It really just comes down to precision use with it. It's real easy to flame out Devastator faces with it, like any shotgun. You just have to have good shot placement. This has been made easier by one of the silent changes in the newest patch, both the 3rd person aim circle and most 1st person reticle are far more accurate and smaller, so you can tell how precise you're actually being. The railgun's ADS sight is now pinpoint accurate and small.

Unfortunately it's random after you die. Would have liked to have more armor customization for the future. Very cool looking armor though and the dudes are ripped hahaha

Please, don't make the new AR sounds good, it isn't.
You are always below 2-3 mags (ammos vanish as fast as ice under summer's sun) and the recoil is so big that you miss more than half your shots in bots weakspots.
And the knife is just a meme, people will just equip it once to do a Rambo cosplay and that's it.
This thing isn't worth a grenade slot.
Only the mini shotgun looks nice.

I feel I'm missing something here. I saw you unloading your rifle multiple times into a swarm and nothing died - "Great job at taking out bugs". You unloaded the shotgun multiple times and killed like one Brood Commander. One took 3 shots to the face and lived but against the bugs it's "actually incredible"?. How? What you're saying and what we're seeing on screen look vastly different. Genuinely curious what you find incredible about them.

The throwing knife is not good for bug missions in my opinion, just because of the bug holes. But it’s something different, it’s not the same, and it’s unique.
Oofff yeah that right there is a problem unless you are using the grenade pistol from the Democratic Detonation Warbond then you should be fine.

Noticed that too, but I was thinking I had graphic glitches, or that through constanly fighting bots my creek ptsd finally caught up to me and I'm going insane XD

Soo, where do you change the skintone? Couldn't find where XD. Also, did you test the tenderizer after patch? i think it's amazing right now. Short controlled bursts, or semi auto, two taps devastators (as long as you headshot them). Pretty noice :D
I think the AR could go for having 10 spare mags, since its a bullet hose, being limited to 7 is a very strange choice. The others are gimmicky but the buffs and the drip are def the highlights this warbond
Ok if you are playing difficulty 5 or below these are fine and fun. Knives have no place at 7-9 imo. bushwacker from your clip seemed unusable. Imo the knives should one shot anything a impact does. It honest should 2 headshot a charger if you want see it get any play vs bugs. Why? Well you lose you ability to close bug holes. Now if you already have nade pistol sure, but make sure to get the nade pistol before running this. But I can kill 2-3 spewers with impact when bunched up. They need to make guns that HAVE a roll. Should improve the knives damage or give you a way more than 8.
I do think the new secondary shot gun is great against bots.
It can 1 shot the Berserkers with 1 barrel, which means 3 in total. It can also kill the Hulks in a so amazing quick speed with a stun grenade.
But against bugs? ...Well, they're just too many. I'll rather choose the pistols.

The secondary is fun to use. I have no complaints. :)
For the shotgun if you use all 3 barrels at once it can kill berserkers at close range.
The knife being good for the walkers is kinda moot when a single impact grenade can take out a group of them. Also, imo the animation of the knife in-flight looks silly. It's not spinning end over end, it looks more like it's flapping side to side.
Edit: on slowing down the video the knife is actually flying sideways lmao.
I'm not a huge assault rifle fan, preferring more precision shot type weapons, so anything on the carbine from me is just noise. Seems alright though.
Shotgun has some pros and cons, especially on bugs. I would mainly use it as a stagger weapon for charging hive guards or a spewer perhaps, or using its magdump option to put them out of your misery. In terms of defending yourself from hunters dogpiling on you when your primary's out of ammo, the better option would be the smg secondary.
I though this warbond would only be 500 sc because it’s mostly cosmetic, so I need to grind for a bunch more 😢

Can someone please explain to me why we can't melee with the throwing knife? Also, can someone please explain why we can't walk over and retrieve the throwing knife from the corpse of an enemy?

And that somehow answers both of my questions?? Look, the melee thing is not all that big of a deal. I want to be able to pick up the throwing knife after I've thrown it. Also, it really needs to be in it's own utility slot. No one is going to regularly use knives over grenades.

The new assault rifle is no better then the starter one, and its still crap. Save your creds, the war bond is complete crap. All you get I a different look but zero function. I want my super creds back.

I was really expecting a gas grenade. The in-game news showed a grenade that wasn't in the game over the newscaster stating "toxic gas".
Lost a bet over this stupid knife.
They need to add that red dot to all rifles it feels accurate and true to life unlike the star trek bs on some of the others
