I always collect the fine sanding dust in a jar and use it to mix with the glue to fill in large gaps. Smaller gaps get a 'dust over' basically to hide the glue and using the original wood dust helps with that. It sands back to hardly seeing the gaps and it takes a stain much better than just glue. This drum should look very nice.
Bruce though I had while watching can you use a router instead of a sander on the off center spots or do you think it will damage the bearing edges? Looking forward to the next video!
Harry, I have the shell with lugs still. I found another one that needed the parts so thats the story. Its a shell with 16 lugs and a badge. Make me an offer and we may be able to make a deal. Cheers, Bruce
@@vintagedrumrestorationgara91 so you have the Black shell, with lugs minus the rims, minus the heads, minus the wires, minus the snare holder on both sides?

If you're looking to get rid of that Tama 6.5x14 maple snare, let me know. I had that in Piano black 20 years ago. Loved it.
