I pressed start once and after the google logo it put me right back into fastboot mode. I did it again and it worked then. Thought I'd share just in case anyone else had that problem. Second time's the charm!
What if the power button is acting as the volume up button and the volume up is acting as the volume down. The volume down button does nothing. The screen keeps going black then comes back after a brief moment without me doing anything.
I have the same issue. :(

@@cheesemellow5089 I plugged mine in to the charger and held all three buttons down until it eventually reset. Volume down button was still broken for a while but eventually fixed itself. Good luck!

That was so weird my power button and volume down started bugging like they wont work on a one press but holding it worked and then I force reset the phone which lead me to fastboot and I would press start and hold it but it would either turn off or cycle to another option, as soon as I watch this vid it stops bugging and actually starts so weird
Good suggestion but it did not work on my Pixel 3a XL. The screen goes black and the Fastboot Mode screen reappears even if I hold the Start button down for a minute. Any suggestions? Thanks!

guys i had the same issue, simply holding the power button did not work. hold the power button and the volume up button both together until you see the google logo and the issue should be fixed

Oh god, bro, you saved my Pixel 3a. My phone entered endless reboot, and pressing any volume button on "Fastboot Mode" black screen forced to restart him again. Holding power button helps. Spetial thanks for "Still holding" - it was important 👍

U saved me from a heart attack!
Changed battery on my pixel 3 and it went into fastboot screen. Have no idea at all that time and thought I have broken something in the process. Came across your video, then only figured out that my volume down button was not functioning well after the battery change. Reposition the volume stripe a bit and the phone went into safe mode and now it’s back to normal after restart.

Lifesaver! I don't even know how I got into that. Phone was fine, ran out of power and after charging was stuck in fastboot mode. Method 2 - holding the power button down worked perfectly for me.
Your buttons may not be broken. Your screen may be starting to delaminate. If one of your buttons has a grain of sand beside it, or debris, this may help. Take your fingernail and trace the outline of the button with it putting on moderate pressure. Click volume up and down 40x each. Then take your thumb and finger and squeeze the screen to the backplate and apply pressure right around where the buttons are. This brought my buttons back to life after constantly "volume down" pressing.
Thanks a lot, real simple. Phone died, then I put it on charger and it woke up on fast mode locked. This was the quick fix. thank you.
As soon as I let my fingers off the buttons my phone doesn't give me a chance to press start it just turns off.
This doesn't show you at all how to get out of fast boot mode. This video just shows how to display the fast boot screen. my phone is actually stuck on this fastboot screen with the state as locked and will not restart bootloader. video is titled incorrectly...
hey please tell me whenever i press power button in fastboot mode it works the same work done by volume up button it doesnt press i mean it changes different menus like
power off
start
recovery
barcode
it cahnges between these things it doest go ahead when i press power button it will be a blessing for me if you tell me please
Also reflash the firmware on your computer if you are stuck that method also helps.
On my pixel 6a it' shows device state as error! In red . Holding down the power button won't boot either 😭. Please help

please you gotta help me!! i have a stylo 4 phone thats stuck in this mode and no matter what i do nothing is working!! ive tried to restart it, but it just goes back to the fastboot mode screen, ive let it die, and plugged it in, it still wont work. ive held down the -volume and ppower button, that diddnt work. ive held both volume buttons and power butttons, it didnt work. i'm so desprate to unlock it, but nothing is working!! please help!!
The power off button / power button is doing the same thing if I press the volume down button

Worked first time, but not the next time went into Fastboot loop. Long press just did same as short press then, i.e. Google logo flashed up but then straight back to Fastboot. I guess it maybe a hardware fault.

I held the power button down for a long time and it just blinks on and off to the fastboot mode screen still. It doesn't start and I can't select any of the options it just cycles around to the same options.

My volume down button not working, the volume up now become volume down, and start button become volume up. I hold start button so long and it keeps coming to this mode.

I have a pixel 6 and the power button is stuck pushed in and isn't working. Everywhere online told me to put it in fastboot mode if my power button isn't working, but didn't tell me I would need my POWER BUTTON to execute anything. So now it's stuck in fastboot mode, it's 7pm so no phone store is open, and I'm pretty sure the fastboot mode menu is getting slowly burned into my screen while I am powerless to fix it. Any tips?

Thanks so much for this. My Pixel 4a power button stopped working a couple months back. Then started working again for no reason. Stopped again last week and today I accidentally let the battery go to zero, so I was stuck in fastboot mode trying to start without power button. BUT your trick worked, so could the button issue be software-based? Might need a factory reset?

@@VictorMartinez-iv2iy Honestly, I don't remember for sure. It was a lot of holding the power button for really long periods of time and just messing with it until it finally showed the boot logo

Does the 'enter reason' at the bottom of your screen indicate the reason the phone went into fastboot or does it indicate in which mode to restart? My phone has 'Enter reason: reboot bootloader' and I'm concerned that if I restart as you suggest it will bring me into fastboot again

Hi, I dropped my Pixel 4 XL, wouldn't power on, when I hold the power button, after some seconds, I see the google logo flash on a black screen, I then press the Vol down button to get me to the screen shown in your video. It is in fastboot mode, the device status is 'locked' and the selection is 'start' but when I take my finger off the vol down button or even try to press the vol up button, my phone appears to turn off. I have to keep my fingers on the buttons so cannot change the mode into recovery. What do I do???

Hi. I need help. I am frozen on the white screen with the Google logo. If i press and hold power button and volume down button. it shows that i am in fastboot mode (which i think i accident did) when i try to click the volume down button to change the part where is shows "start, recovery mode etc" it brings me back to the white screen with the google logo.
