I’m just starting Mandarin with the Integrated Chinese books (still in transit even lol), and it’s really inspiring to see your progress! When did you start using social apps like Tandem? And… uh… how do you chat when you’re a beginner? 😅 I guess it’s so intimidating to me to think about finding a language partner, especially at a beginning level. (I’ve been learning Japanese for a while now and have never had a conversation in it 😅😅😅😅)

Thanks so much! I think it is the lack of conjugation of the verbs that makes the learning process quick and helps you to be able to have a conversation early on. My advice is to just go for it! You will be surprised at how much you can say : )

Thanks so much! I speak French and German quite fluently and am studying Italian, Chinese, and Turkish. I’ve also studied Japanese, Russian, Ojibwe, Arabic....I like to explore and then choose which ones I am serious about learning more of : ) If only I had the time to learn more haha! And you?

I just downloaded the app and started adding friends. It’s free. I’m not sure if certain countries don’t have access but I think it should work most places?

Sorry about that! I’m just filming on my iPhone and don’t have the means to upgrade right now. If you turn up the volume on your device a bit more it should come out a bit clearer : )
