I would like to suggest, if possible, that you make a video about a trekking poles, how to use it in the races, how to store it in your vest, which brand do you recommend for the folding model, etc. I don’t know much about that, and I think I need to buy one soon or later. Thanks Jeff. 🇧🇷 🥾 🌎
No idea it took 13 people just to crew and pace you in this race! Not just a turn up and run run. Best of luck for Saturday Jeff!
I remember that tree on Hadrians Wall from the Kevin Costner film “Prince of Thieves” from the 90’s. Very cool to see the drone footage of that area.
We might not have the huge mountains that other countries are fortunate to have, but here in England we do have some pretty challenging terrain of our own. Shorter but steeper is usually a good description. We never worked out the switchback thing 😂
If I’m going to sit at my desk and work for 10 hours, I’m going to fuel it with Jeffspiration. Sorry. Not sorry.
I'm doing that right now!!😅
It’s always a great day when Jeff posts!!
Your videos always make me feel better about life in general. Thank-you!
Love It Jeff - particularly your calm "One leg at a time" as you were being shown leg 3 off in the distance. Go well this weekend and have fun!
Good luck! Just stumbled across your channel in between editing footage of my own attempt 2 weeks ago! Also set of on 22 hour schedule, ended up finishing in 22:21. Look forward to your next video!
Happy Birthday Sir Jeff! 🎂
Thanks!
It's so exciting you are doing BGR. I hope you have a wonderful adventure! We'll all be thinking of you and sending you good vibes 🙂
What an awesome trail!
Great to see you in the UK Jeff, seems like you got quite a lot of travel in. There's an event in Scotland you might be interested in called the Cateran Yomp. I completed it back in 2018 as a walker, its a permanent trail so you could do it outside the event if your timings are off.
Currently I'm training for the Peak District challenge 100km as a walker but watching your adventures makes me want to push that little harder to get better times.
P.s i honestly though you were in your 30s
All the best. Happy Canada Day!!! 🍁 🇨🇦
Best of luck Jeff, to echo other similar comments, it’s strange to see you now somewhat closer to home (Greetings from Ireland!) having watched all of your other adventure so far. Will follow along on Saturday!
Good luck. Looks transformative. Have an experience!
Fantastic achievement, can’t wait for the film. Well done from Scotland!
Jeff,
Good luck this weekend with your BG Round this weekend and thanks for showcasing the Lake District. I’m sure your prep from the last month will serve you in good stead.
Thanks also for your excellent films. I’ve learnt loads for your films over the last twelve months and managed to apply lots of your tips in my first ever ultra, a 70 miler over Hadrians Wall a couple of weeks ago.
Followed your GPS track over the last 24 hours. See your just on the outskirts of Keswick now. Massive well done!
It looks like you had a challenge in the dark but a superb effort for sure.
Good luck for this weekend Jeff. Will be doing some dot watching! Can't wait and I'm glad you're enjoying your time up north 😁 All the best.
Glad your enjoying my home county of Cumbria, good luck this weekend I’m sure you’ll do great. Also Happy Birthday
Good luck with the Bob this weekend!!!! Just keep putting one foot in front of the other! 💪
Good luck for Saturday Jeff. You've certainly prepared well for it. I agree - the logistics take almost as much effort as the round! Hope you don't cut it as fine as my round in May (23:50!). I'll be dot-watching. I'm sure it will be a wonderful day. Watch out for the emotion when you finish under 24!
Best of luck Jeff!!! Very interesting to see all the prep that goes into the adventure!!
Congrats Jeff 👏🏾🥳 awesome achievement! I’m looking forward to the film!
Great impression of this treeless landscape and the running through these entirely open fields with challenging climbs and descents. It also shows that the weather conditions can completely change the character of the BG and be 'brutal' even for an experienced runner. Wish you lots of success with your BG !
Absolutely loving this series. Your attention to detail and way of explaining things so clearly and thoroughly is something that is hard to find. Dot watching you (you're heading to Great Gable now) and cheering you on as I head to the Cairngorms for my own adventure. Best of luck!
All the best Jeff - disappointed I couldn’t get south for Tuesdays run.
Love the plan coming together - and your supporting others. Top man.
Unfortunately can’t sit watch as I’ll be in the highlands, but looking forward to checking Sunday night to see how well you’ve done!
Aw the best, you’ll smash it.
Cumbria was my home for 40 years and it’s great to see you out enjoying the fells I know well. All the best for tomorrow’s Bob attempt - sure you’ll do it 👍
So excited to see all the videos from here! I spent a couple days in the Lake District earlier this year and it is absolutely beautiful. Glad to see you got some good weather, and good luck this weekend!
Congratulations Jeff, for the excellent content on your channel, tips on equipment, training, and sports nutrition. I have been improving my races here in Brazil every day, and I hope soon to have the opportunity to participate in a race in Canada, where I consider an incredible country, your motivation and discipline are examples to be followed for sure! 🇧🇷 🥾 🌎
Best of luck Jeff!
Good Luck.. Glad you’re enjoying the Lake District. Still strange seeing it your videos.🙃
Hope you have a solid run with no stomach issues Jeff. Enjoy the beautiful fells when you can 😊
Best of luck Jeff
Best of luck Sir
Beautiful country! Great training!
I'll be doing my first ultra on the 1st of July as well! Running across the coastline of Belgium! Hope we both have a wonderful day! Success to you Jeff!
Dot watched all the way bud. top effort sub 22 hrs. Chapeau 👏👏👏👏👏👏
🙏
Just watched ep 5 and 6, 1 hour before you set off, so good luck and hope you complete your goal. It's nice to see others appreciate the area you live in 👍
There’s a ski slope in Teasdale and weardale also
Thanks for taking us around the lakes. I'm from London and love hiking in Canada but have never actually been to the lakes. I find the lack of trees always makes me want to do adventures elsewhere. Hopefully we get some reforesting around there!
Hi there
Cotswolds got some nice wooded areas too hike, few hours from London.
So glad you’re enjoying all the Lakes have to offer, Jeff. My dad grew up there and it’s a truly wonderful part of the world.
Best of luck on the BGR.
Good luck Jeff and good weather! 🙌🏻 Looking forward to seeing the video for this!
Best of luck, Jeff!
I’ll be rooting for you on Saturday! Best of luck and look forward to seeing your round!
Good luck!
Good luck!! Will be following along
Great video as always! I have to say the music is outstanding in this episode, I find it fits the video perfectly and complements the entire episode.
Great video as always. Really enjoying seeing you on routes I know. Good luck Jeff!
Best of luck Jeff. Will be following your progress 👍
Good luck on your endeavor.
Good luck Jeff! Great preparation, look forward to tracking your progress!
Good luck Jeff, we’re up in the Lakes next week so all being well might try to catch you finishing on Sunday!
Just been following the OpenTracking amazing pace, can't wait for the race report video!
Im so excited. Definetley going to follow. I wish you a great run and many new fantastic memories. Also, good luck to the crew!
Thanks for sharing. Inspiring to watch, with practical explanations. Thank you 🙏
Best of luck
Brilliant 🤩
Fingers crossed!! Best of luck, will be tracking and waiting for updates! Also, great video as always!
Good luck Jeff
Congrats!! Was following you on the tracker. 👏
I’m really excited for you to get after this effort! Good luck and enjoy the day!!!
Good luck in the Bob Jeff! I hope you smash it!
Can't wait to watch the BGR videos. And I just bought a pair of those Bonatti shorts. They look great, and I didn't know about them (already have the jacket).
What a great video loved it cheers ⛰️
Mate good luck for this! all the best
Good luck 👊🏼
Best of luck, Jeff! Would love to do the BG myself one day!
Really cool place! Great work filming this course preview. Looks like you’ve found some great running friends as well!
Good luck Jeff💪
Good luck ! Will be running QMT during that time
Have a great race!
All the best 👍😃
Great to see you in England Jeff! How does it all compare to Canada? The very best of luck on Saturday and hope weather holds
Will be tracking you! 🙌
Go smash it! 👊
Hope it went well. I was one of those who saw you off 👌🤓
Love those waffles but they are impossible to keep intact, always a crumbling mess on the trails
A great series. Looks like a lot of hard work!
Have you heard about the Swiss Peaks 660km for summer 2024?
Just heard about it! These distances are getting out of hand 😂
@@JeffPelletier how would you go about training for that??!! 😂
Honestly, I don’t know. At some point, you’re just doing a long distance through hike (with little sleep).
Good luck Jeff!!!!!! Did you go Sandylands SPAR???? 🍰
Yes is this a hint at the next announcement for an ultra?
Amazing 🎉
Killin it. These are so uplifting! 💚💚 🏃♂️ 🏃♀️
Wow Jeff you did it in under 22hrs! Fantastic run, wahoo 🎉 Was the tracker out or did you decide to get in a few more miles for fun (😉) at Rosset and Bow Fell?! I’ve climbed a few of those peaks several times and am amazed at what you’ve accomplished, hats off, no words 💪🏻 👏🏻
Hah, yes the tracker was acting funny. Might have been the poor visibility and 50 mph winds 😂
I’ve been a silent viewer for a while and really enjoying your journey. Thanks.
Is that a Vertix 2 you’re wearing? I got the Gen 1, great watch
It is! Such a great watch.
@@JeffPelletier thanks for the answer. Loving my Vertix as well, seems Gen 2 is a great update though I won’t update, mine is doing great
Awesome video, looking forward to seeing the run! Had a quick question if you see this, watching your videos has inspired me to try and take on trail running. Been doing a few road runs to get fitter, hoping to try some trails this year if things go well. Are there any trail running shoes you could recommend for someone who's just a beginner to it all? Seen loads of different brands and its difficult to know what to choose. Thanks for sharing your experiences! :)
It’s all about fit first, features second. I’d recommend going in to a good independent running store and trying on a few pairs from different brands as a start. Salomon works for me, but primarily because they fit my feet so perfectly!
@@JeffPelletier thank you! Apprehensive spending over £100 on shoes, so definitely a good idea to talk to someone in store and see the options, thanks for the idea. Good luck on your run!
How long are you in the UK? Will you make it up to Scotland before you go home?
Not this time, didn’t want to rush it. I Hope to spend month in Scotland in the next couple of years to recce and do the Paddy Buckley Round as well 🙂
Congratulations on your BG Round finish! I’m really looking forward to seeing your footage from the day. Question: Are you using the LEKI Ultratrail FX One Superlite for poles? I’m in the market for new ones and trying to decide between the Superlite and the Ultratrail FX One..
Thanks! I’ve been using the Superlites but they’re very fragile - I ended up breaking one during my Bob. I’d recommend using the regular FX One instead.
Jeff what are your plans after the Bob attempt? Are you in the UK for any longer? I ask because if you are available I’d like to interview you about your run and your channel. Let me know.
We’ll be making our way down to London where we’re spending a few days before leaving England. Where are you based?
@@JeffPelletier I’m on the South Coast so it’s easy to come up to London. Or you’re welcome to come for a run on the South Downs.
RIP Sycamore Gap 😥
So sad. I’m glad I was able to capture these images when I did!
first ! woot !
Please stop saying recce
Why not? Google says: "reconnaissance is abbreviated to recce (British, Canadian, Australian English) and to recon (American English)."
Recce is the expression used here in in the fells. "When in Rome", as they say.
Looking forward to this one. Have a great day😎
Best of luck Jeff!
Good luck Jeff
