    I'm working on a 97 Nissan pathfinder with an oil leak now. It has 200k miles and is leaking down to and over the catalytic converter. I'm not sure exactly where the leak is at though, but it could also be the valve cover from the looks of it.

      Yeah thats most likely what it is. Mine started smoking from under the hood from leaking onto the manifold. It has 250k on it

    hmmm, valve cover gasket screws seemed oddly loose. i wonder if that was contributing to the oil leak because the gaskets look ok. switching them out anyway

      I did not have to remove the back spark plug, the loose screws probably didnt cuase the oil leak from what i saw they aren't supposed to be very tight becuase they have rubber washers on them. I think the rubber shinks some as it ages and makes it leak

      @@everettstormy Thanks for the helping video. Turns out the gaskets were hard as a rock. I replaced the gaskets and no leaks now. I also replaced the plugs and wires as one of the plugs was arcing and that fixed the issue for that .In total my codes were P0300 but that changed to p0305 which is a cylinder misfire on 5. Runs like a champ now!

      @2006JeepLimited57L awsome! Glad it helped. These old things love to throw codes but generally if it runs good it is good lol.

    did you need to remove that back spark plug to lift the manifold off?

    Do you not have to use an rtv sealant? Just picked up a 97 pf for $500 I pulled everything apart to replace a blown expansion plug figured I do the gaskets since they’re leaking anyways

      Gotta be carefully with rtv but it can be used

    • @everettstormy
      @everettstormy  5 месяцев назад

      I dont think you should use it becuase it is a rubber gasket. I didnt and it didnt leak
