- Welcome friends to a special video! I made this with all my heart and I dedicate it to the beautiful people of Mani (Μάνη), Peloponnese (Πελοπόννησος), Greece. I tried so hard to fit the best footage in this video after spending 4 amazing days in Mani.
Surrounded by the Mediterranean, Mani (Lakonia) has a culture of its own. Mani is famous for the people that always respect the idea of honor, for their stone towers and their excellent Mediterranean cuisine. In this video you will see places like Limeni in Oitylo, Diros Caves, Kotronas, Marathos Beach at Kokkala, Gytheio, Areopoli, Alypa, Chalikia Vatta, Foneas Beach in Kardamili and amazing routes.

Ευχαριστω Νικο! Τι τραβηξα Θεε μου με αυτο το project με το Premiere στη διορθωση χρωματος δεν υπαρχει!!!Τρεις ημερες κρασαρισματα και ξανα απο την αρχη. Στο τελος το project ειχε γινει corrupted και αν δεν ειχα σωσει παλιοτερο save σε αλλο σκληρο θα εκλαιγα τουλαχιστον 6 ημερες δουλειας με 10ωρα καθε ημερα. :-) ΚΑΛΗΜΕΡΑ!

Beautiful video. I am looking to go and Road trip here, can I ask what area did you stay? I know a lot of driving will be involved either way, excited to see the views though! 💙
Hey, thanks for watching! We stayed in a very small village called Flomochori. It's very close to Kotronas (East Mani). We were lucky enough to rent a brand new tower house just outside the village and it was so peaceful, which of course made the experience even better. I see if it's still on Airbnb and I'll come back with more info. At that time it was 90 Euros per night. I'm sure it will be higher priced these days. As far as driving goes, yeah, prepare for lots of it if you want to see it all. And hopefully it's not blazing hot the time you visit as it will add a little more fatigue to the experience. No matter what, you can't go wrong with that part of the Peloponnese.

People of Mani are considered tough in a good way. The Greek Revolution of 1821 against the Turks started in Peloponnese and Maniots were the first to declare war. As far as if they speak old Athenian, I don't know. Probably not. Thanks for visiting, have a good day!
