The main problem with all these mic's - there is no mute /unmute button on/ off with indicator , thats why I still use an old trusty Sure BLX14/Beta98H/C
This one definitely has an on off button with an LED but yes no mute. I thought it was weird that the Nux doesn’t even have a light I don’t think and an automatic shutoff…
Whoa!!! That mic sounds GREAT! I've been using the NU-X B-6 mic which seems to be very similar to the one your playing but yours has a little more nuance in the sound. I love that you can switch channels on your mic. As always you sound great man! I wish I could hear you play live!!!
Hey man - Thankyou! That mic you speak of is very similar! The only thing it doesnt have is the option to switch channels on it but I've heard that the 2.4 GHZ band does this automatically so I'm curious to see what happens when I run into interference trouble 👀 You can hear me any time - just come to NYC ! Hope all is well!
@@davidludman1 they're almost the same thing tbh. I've heard from somebody that the NUX has an automatic shutoff feature? the XVive doesnt have that. And the NUX doesnt allow you to set the channel but since its wireless (and will change automatically) I'm still waiting to figure out why you would need to do that manually. Other than that, they are very similar :)
Checked this one out as well as NUX-B-6 when I was at Music China last month. Nothing in comparison to a good old Audio Technica ATM or Shure SM 98 or DPA. My suggestion. Get a Shure 98 + their Xvive wireless system and you will get a much better sound for a slightly higher price.
What is different about the sound? I am really liking the sound of this one - curious what you find to be different. I have heard of people having interference issues with these although I havent had an issue yet.
@@SaxophoneSteveKortyka to my ear the difference in sound is Xvive sounding too compressed and less detailed in comparison to those 3 well known clip-on mics. I asked people at Xvive booth about how different it is from NUX and the only thing their sound guy told me is that Xvive can withstand higher volume pressure comparing to NUX. So, I consider it just as another NUX competiotor on the market
@@Shmurdiak25 Yes, very similar to the nux. Im just wondering how noticable the compression you're hearing is in a live situation where you would be on stage. For me I found the mic to be quite warm! Thanks for the info regardless :)
Thanks for the review on this unit. Been using an AMT unit for quite a while, but love the compact size and sound of this unit.
Sure thing! Glad you got something out of it - always happy to share about useful things that will make our lives easier :)

And I've been meaning to ask...did you every get a replacement for that JL Woodwind tenor of yours that was stolen?

I should be getting it soon... patiently awaiting the next shipment to JL Woodwinds.. any day now!
I don’t think you could compare the two from a yt video like this. I love my nux 😁
