    Big fan! Hey, why does a guitarist need a keyboard? Have you been listening to Miles Davis? :)

      +pnojazz I use it for composing. I also do a lot of sequencing in Ableton Live and Reason software. Thanks!

    Hi Barry, i'm working on that song at the moment. I really like youre version! But why do some people play Ebma7 to Gbma7 and some play Ebma7 to Eb7?
    Regards

    • @BarryGreene
      @BarryGreene  7 лет назад +1

      As long as the chord doesn't conflict with the melody, you can play anything. Not of fan of Eb7 but Eb-7 works nicely.

    Wow, “Florida Guitar Guy” (Mr. Barry Greene)!
    Ok, you sound the jazz (and jazz blues) music as a great guitarist in U because Ur super-professional musician.
    Here’s my example of guitar players… I could be wrong or right; well, here it goes…
    So, what percentage of all guitar players are as the *super-pro* guitar players (like U)? I’ll say, 2% *super-pro” guitarists of all guitar players.
    I’ll say, 5% of *pro* guitar players. And I’ll say, 15% for “semi-pro* guitarists.
    At the (what does that word says?) “middle” guitar players feels like 30%.
    At the beginners (that many quit the guitar playing or learning to play), I’ll say, hmmm, 70% of guitar people.
    Thx,
    Greg D.

      +Greg D Interesting analysis, I don't know how accurate it is. Honesty, I don't think of it like that at all. Everyone who plays an instrument gets a huge amount of pleasure from it, that's why I have continued to play for as long as I have. Regardless of level, the experience is the same.

      I understand the difference between #1: super-pro, #2: pro, semi-pro, #3: middle, and #4: beginners. Why? There's a difference of music/guitar "ability" & "mental usage" (like ear to eye to brain - back & forth).
      Who's enjoying their guitar playing? Yes - many or most of us! At home, only? Yes! Playing to help for family and yourself? Yes! Playing outside places? Yes! Professional playing in a ships for 6 mths to other nations? Yes!
      From me... I am *close* to be a "semi-pro" (from a high middle player) as a guitar teacher to beginner players. And I enjoyed my bands for years in bars, restaurants, parties - usually old R&R music/songs.
      But there's a difference between all of us - human people - which our mental usage & our ability to be better... or not.
      Thx,
      Greg D

      Whoops...
      #1 --> #5
      "I understand the difference between #1: super-pro, #2: pro, #3 semi-pro, #4: middle, and #5: beginners.", instead.

    Ok Barry, here's a reason (maybe) of guitarists/musicians: 1) super-pro, 2) pro, 3) semi-pro, 4) middle, 5) beginner...
    1) Full-time professional doctors, police men/women, city workers and on...
    2) Full-time guitarists, music singers, music writers and on...
    3) Full-time movies/TV Shows makers and on and on...
    4) Part-time guitar, piano, drum players who might be professional, also because of their family
    5) Part-time doctors, police people, and city workers? NO! But could be #4, instead. And, I have 2 professional TBI-doctors (brain-injury) that, also, are pro musicians and teaching at colleges - which is neat!

    Barry this is just my two cents. I love these lessons but the chords you're overdubbing as you're demonstrating scales and talking at the same time are distracting to me. You probably have a lot of people that have requested this feature, so I'm sure I'm in the minority here, but man it hurts my small brain. I'm loving your sound on this guitar though!

    • @BarryGreene
      @BarryGreene  7 лет назад +2

      Most people love having the accompaniment during the demonstrations. They find it much easier to hear the harmony with the actual chord sound. Honestly, this is the first time I've heard this:) Good to hear from you Chris and thanks!
