Bringing all together
I have lived as a PWD 1 for over thirty-three years and went through burnout. But with all I have learned since 2014, these lessons and the books and other videos brought it all into focus. I eat better and more thoughtfully, exercise and de-stress as I can.
My C.D.E. assigned these videos to me, and it has been so much help.
Not only do I recommend the Burnout Book, I recommend the book Think like a Pancreas as well.
Type 1 and 2 are balancing acts, and the systems we have are not perfect, but with so few complications and a better understanding of what is going on with my body and how to deal with it, my life is so much enjoyable.
Joe, humor can be a great teacher, and you taught this so well.
By the way, Skittles and Jelly Bellies are pure evil! HA!HA!HA!
P.S. How about updates on new types of treatments and tests. I am getting into the D.R.I and trying to volunteer to be a test subject for the new pancreas as they find ways to get off of Anti Rejection drugs.

So helpful, do you plan to do any topics relating to what is being called diabetic burn out - how to keep going with the tracking and daily management when you just feel like you have had enough? :)
sherie taylor Hi Sherie. The short answer is yes. I have a great interview I did with a dear friend and psychologist named Bill Polonsky. He literally wrote the book on the topic: Diabetes Burnout: What to Do When You Can't Take It Anymore. I've had T1 for 19 years myself (and I'm a social psychologist) and Bill is one of my favourite people in this industry. I'll get that interview cut soon, but in the meantime I strongly recommend his book - www.amazon.com/Diabetes-Burnout-What-When-Anymore/dp/1580400337 - or you can look him up and see what else you can find on him. I know he's got some great resources available free at: behavioraldiabetesinstitute.org/
Hope that helps. I can do anything else for you, just ask.
