** I LIED! ** I said the 4.0L TRIBUTE SWEATSHIRT was not yet on sale. This video is a few days late, so as of this morning it is available for PRE-ORDER at monkeywithatoolbox.com. First run will ship mid-november.
I've decided I will never buy a new production vehicle again. I daily a 20 year old car and have a 10 year old backup. if I need a new car, I'm buying pre-2000.
1500 sales are down 40 % from last year...IMO 20 % due to lack of V8...20 % due to runaway pricing. Adding an even higher price trim will not reverse this trend.
I love the concept of the Ramcharger; put down money to get in line. They are totally turding the bed on communication and updates. I have had virtually zero communication, having held my $100 for a literal year. Come on, RAM. What the heck? Don't pull a Ford lightning mistake and get all the hype out there and then lose us on execution.
As a 2021 Grand Cherokee Limited owner with a Pentastar V6 who loves it…. Except for the occasional electronics glitch in the matrix as you rightly mention. Me? As soon as they announced the RamCharger and I investigated the specs, I plunked down a deposit for a reservation. It sooooo makes sense. Can’t wait for it to be released!
I drove a 2023 grand wagoneer that had the 3.0L I6 and it had serious guts, but the coolant temp would go between 180 F and 230 F during normal driving. Thats a ton of heat cycling and with all the plastic on that engine, how long do we expect that to last?
Yes, this truck makes sense. And I wait to see if this actually works. But just as it is with anything new and exciting, stellantis has to back up the hype with real world results, otherwise this will be yet another technology that fades away into the sunset. I hope it works!
The 6 cylinder, I think won't last long. Their outing a tiny motor to doing the job of a v8 which cuts down on its life. The 1500 is dead they killed it. The 2500 has the 6.4 liter gasoline option which is a better option. Creating a new trim level for 25 still doesn't have the options I have in my 2022 1500 limited
@lastmanstanding60- Your kidding. 9 grand for turbos. Wow oh wow. Thus to what I have been saying since I bought my 2019 Ram Longhorn. People chirp about Hemi tick (lifter issues-less than 1% chance of it happening) and manifold bolts breaking. Well I still chose and picked that poison. Cause all those turbos, waste gate issues are a high cost items. Way to much money regardless for turbos and I don’t want it at all.
I love the ram charger... on paper. Stellantis electronics (and reliability in general lately) will completely ruin it. And, it is going to be WAY too expensive.
Yeah, the Samsung battery recall issues with Wrangler 4xe and Grand Cherokee 4xe are pretty funny (sad). What a disaster, where the recall says not to charge the vehicles, and there is no fix yet.
In my opinion, the "RAMCHARGER" is a great idea, and Ram has been showing this "RAMCHAARGER" on various platforms, such as youtube, but my question is, When are we going to see it in production??
I can’t wait for the ramcharger. My job doesn’t require my truck so back and forth to work I’ll be EV. Weekends or family trips towing the travel trailer I’ll use the generator.
I wonder how many recalls and software updates it's going to take to be able to sell them after the dealer has them on the lot . Cough cough "dodge hornet" cough cough cough
I think the Ram Charger is not going work well enough for towing. Towing is going to cut the small battery from 50Miles to 25 miles of electric towing then you are left with the pentastar generator to charge the battery and power the motors for towing, I don't think so??? I think it will be fine for long distance non-towing so you don't have to charge while on a road trip but not likely for towing. The ram revolution with the big battery (2026) will likely be better at towing than the ram charger but still at a reduced range of 500miles down to 250-350miles.
Well, putting an engine in a truck is at least a safer place for us, as far as wheeling goes. Keeps part in the parts stores, I see a narrowing bridge in salvage but keeping parts that are essential for combustion engine. Hopefully, they won't reinvent the wheel to the point of destroying the 6 cylinder. DOES this mean that this thing will QUITE POSABLY eliminate drive line vibration and Pinon angles??? This is going to change a hole lot for build time!!
They just need charging stations setup like gas stations so that people can pull through with their trailers. I don’t mind charging but I’m not in good health and dropping my trailer every time I need to charge isn’t an option.
The thumbnail ram should have been the refresh. 3.6, i6. And 5.7 engines. Because the 25 lineup is same truck for 2019. No reason to update. It's dated like these ford f 150s.
My local dealer had a commercial this morning. Too hurry in and get a 2024 ram as it's your last chance to own a V8 hemi ram . I don't know what they are going with v6 or 4 cyl???
The 6 cylinder, WHAT a joke. The 1500 is dead and they killed it. Owned a RAM 1500 the past 22 yrs. Just bought a 2023 new bc of V8. Will be the last Ram 1500 I own. Oh and still have the 2002 and still going strong.
Inline six firing order was preached to us in votech schooling as "15 is too young, 36 is too old, 24 is just right". Not my line, but never forgot it!!!
Not only will those "luxury" not going to sell, they aren't selling. Dealer stock is backed up on par with levels not seen since 2008. For you to say "they will sell" is disingenuous. Stellantis has priced most folks that but Dodges and Jeeps out of the market, especially since their quality has gone into the toilet.
I don't know what Stellantis is planning to do with the RAM brand but my plans are to buy a GM product. Stellantis has trashed the quality of these trucks. The new RAM trucks are JUNK. I would not touch a RAM made after 2021 --Current Ram owner
I don't know what model RAM you have, but I have a 2020 RAM REBEL with every option that was available on the 2020 Ram Rebel ,and I have NEVER has one issue with it! I purchased it new in Oct 2019. In mu opinion, it is a very nice ck!
Uncle Tony had some great points on this Ramcharger: This thing has every component and complication of an EV, plus every component and complication of a V6 engine, but it can't power the drive train. It has an exhaust system, a fuel system, a fuel tank, a fuel filter, ignition system, cooling system, water pump, etc. How many failure points cn you put between two bumpers? It has a full size V6 engine in this thing, but it can't supply power to the wheels.
3.6l while an outstanding engine is still not a v8 HEMI !!! But being green the 3.6L is NOT!! it still uses oil, antifreeze, fuel which means it still has an exhaust and there will still be exhaust fumes and cold starts. that accomplishes NOTHING!!!
So you don't think it will accomplish anything? This engine is going to produce electrical power for the battery only when the battery gets low, so it is not going to run all of the time!
@wayneowen5864 so yes and no. You gave to keep in mind that the whole reason any of this rhetoric started was because President Biden wanted electrical cars due to us depleting the ozone layer. Hence "The Green New Deal". They are trying to get rid of gas and diesel engines correct? Why? All your doing with this new truck is basically replacing the transmission and drive line which was NEVER the problem to begin with
You nailed it. Stellantis has to meet government regulations. Look at the sales numbers for most all of the EV's, especially the likelihood of buying another EV. They are dismal. If the car companies were working in a free market and not trying to meet government regulations and sales, you would see far less companies releasing 100% electric vehicles.

Keep talking about Ramcharger, thanks. Haven't heard a lot of news lately.

Pre 2007
You do you man, there is nothing wrong with that plan
Getting old is no fun. It clouds the future.
@@DEInTheGarage Their is if you live in the salt belt, GOOD LUCK WITH THAT.
Buy something down south I guess ?
1500 sales are down 40 % from last year...IMO 20 % due to lack of V8...20 % due to runaway pricing.

I have a 2013 Ram Hemi. IMO the FORD 5.0 is the only thing left I would be interested in.
I love the concept of the Ramcharger; put down money to get in line. They are totally turding the bed on communication and updates. Not long the thermostat that control cooling are melting.

The turbo sixes are already blowing up . Just an fyi one converter on the new wagoneer is almost 9 grand. Ask me how I know
@lastmanstanding60- Your kidding. 9 grand for turbos. Wow oh wow. Thus to what I have been saying since I bought my 2019 Ram Longhorn. @ramrider1453 no just one converter, only one of them
@ramrider1453 was a warranty job at the dealer that came through
Tungsten is the most expensive and effective ammo. Makes sense to use on popular hunting vehicle as premo trim
Ramcharger all day!! I love the sound of a hybrid finally for a half ton vehicle. Its about time.
I’m keeping my TRX as bought extended warranty until
2027 so I’m good ! Full load warranty front to back and just can’t get rid of it !!! ❤
Great review! I have a Ram 1500 Eco diesel 2022 model and love it! 30-34 mpg on the highway. The Ram Charger make sense to me.
Robert the eco diesel is trash. Do your damn research. They are designed to break. You 'll learn soon enough I suppose...
I have an EREV car (chevy volt, love it) can't wait till i can buy an EREV pickup!
I love the ram charger... on paper. Stellantis electronics (and reliability in general lately) will completely ruin it. And, it is going to be WAY too expensive.
Bro, ford still puts th 5.0 v8 in the f150.
They won’t be for long. They will be extinct soon… way it’s going
I love the sweatshirt! Put me down for a large
Need a V8 sweatshirt like that to say good by ☹️

Mopar lots are full of new pickup stock built in 22-23 there is no reason what so ever to believe they’ll sell expensive luxo truck.
Funny that Ford hasn't added a gas range extender to F-150 Lightning. Oh well.
FYI tungsten synonym wolframite aka “WOLFRAM” even at Stellantis didn’t know that!

The Silverado ev is meeting everyone’s expectations
The RamCharger powertrain is what we should be pushing, not full EV

5.7 V8 ram hemi 👍

This should be the missing link, the step the missed

The problem is jeep/ram have already proven they don’t know what they’re doing with hybrids.Fire hazards
This is the end of ram. No doubt

Check out DaBoss Garage. He and Edison are working in cooperation with a diesel/battery Dodge truck adventure
That Ram Ramcharger is going to Sell like HOTCAKES……. not
Just like the Hornet?

I would not buy this junk at 29 cents on the dollar inhas 2 rams and a jeep and traded rhem for yodas.

There is same tech in BYD Shark pickup and other top China cars. This hybrids are future imo.
Perhaps after a better alternative to the lithium battery is developed.
I would never buy anything with electric vehicles be it a total or a hybrid system they are both not usable
I have had 3 TOYOTA "Hybrids", and they are very USEABLE!
@ not for anyone who would want to tow with it and if you did tow you couldn’t tow much
I like the ramcharger if I ever buy a new car
I will not buy a junk hybrid or electric truck they can sit and rot
Funny that Ford hasn't added a gas range extender to F-150 Lightning. Oh well.
