    Looks home made. Always look at fender customshop pictures before doing these jobs. Kinda like sketching a drawing from another drawing you might like.

      They are pretty crap too, you’d never get a neck like that from using it for even 50 years , unless you were playing it with sand paper gloves 🤣😂🤣

    Other way to relic the neck: just play the thing

      @@GoudLoodje are the higher model fenders and their necks lacquer? Cause if not then you’ll have a tough time getting a relic on it lol

    It’s good but a little over done because I don’t think they wear right to the very top and bottom of the neck just mostly to about the nut and 10th fret

    I’ve owned dozens of guitars over 40 years old and not one has had near the amount of relic that most people do, even “custom shops”.

    • @ericrodrigues9338
      @ericrodrigues9338 8 месяцев назад

      Yeah, because you've owned dozens of guitars in 40 years 😂, we're not trying to emulate a random dude that had dozens of guitars, we're trying to pay homage to those awesome dude who wrote great music in the same guitar for 40 years

    • @ericrodrigues9338
      @ericrodrigues9338 8 месяцев назад

      Also, guitars from 40 years back don't get this type of wear at all, on late 60s most guitar brands started using polyurethane finish and is mostly used till this day. Unless you really abuse your guitar, PU lacquer will take a couple dozen generations to get any wear at all

    • @ericrodrigues9338
      @ericrodrigues9338 8 месяцев назад

      But if you look at great guitarists that mostly used the same guitar and had a nitrocelulose finish like Rory Gallagher and SRV you'll see how raw they can get

    Great colour, its hard to get it that way cool tip lol. I will say if you wanted to take this to the next level have a look at how necks wear, its not usually all the way down the top of the neck near the tuners, other than that this is awesome.

  • @alanr9634

    Would have varied it a little bit instead of doing the entire neck. Make it look naturally worn in instead of it having a chemical accident

    It looks dirty like how maple fretboards got with Paul Gilbert or the necks on the back of Van Halen's.... I think relic should make the guitar look like it's roasted. Like how old maple guitars go a deep yellow/orange as the resin crystallises over time.

    🤦 sand it back to the wood, hit it w/ 4 coats of tinted clear nitro, play the shit out of it. This looks no bueno man.

    What is that perfectly uniformed line at the top of the neck. You put about as much thought into this as a child would. Totally impulsive and distasteful. Sorry but you just ruined your guitar neck

      Pointing out that this looks dog dick ugly doesn’t make anyone a loser. There’s nothing tasteful or even well done about it. We play our guitars to the negative first fret and they wear like that, right? 🙄
