Another good option of the k mount Ricohs is the KR-5 Super 2 all mechanical battery only operates the light meter and top shutter speed of 2000

    I love Ricoh lenses and have a 50mm F2 and a 28mm 2.8.
I use them on my Petri gx1 which is a Cosina CT1a. Light and small with an accurate meter. I love it.
I got a Ricoh Singlex TLS to go with a m42 Vivitar series 1 28mm f1. 9 lens. I got a metal 58mm shallow lens hood to help with flare especially at full aperture.

Yp, by the early to mid 80's camera's inner core and outside shell where being made out of 100% plastic, with some notable exceptions like Nikon F4 / F5 and EOS-1 series. It will be until early 2000's till metal slowly came back into camera production.

Found a TLS-401 at a street market (Paris) . Mint condition. Meter works and everything.

Very nice review and loved your wise insight as I'm mostly and totally agree with all that is said here. Only I'm pretty sure there is such thing as Richo Collectors. Also though I'm also in love with Takumars and old Pentax lenses, both hands down, but wished you would show your Richo bodies with Rikenon and actually has very very good reviews today, on the digital life era & along with the digital bodies!
Thanks again and have a great day.

There seems to be a bit of a cult following for Rikenon lenses in M42 but not K-mount. Curious.

@@BriansPhotoShow Sure as a tad of cult is the name of the game. And again yes. Like anything else, the newer stuff is made based on Price and profit in mind, not like many olden days where "The name" or Sin el cual no, was "Quality" and "Pride of manufacturer".
Unfortunately, most of K mount Pentax falls in that line, as compared to older Pentax/Takumar. Having said that, I have several K mount lenses that love them, especially given that dirt-cheap price (That could be a temporary thing if history is to be repeated!).
      Have a great weekend.

I have a Pentax 50mm screw on lens. The cap says Honeywell? I want to find an old cheap but good camera to shoot with this Lens but no idea what to look for.

One of the main reasons to buy Ricoh is: Rikenon 55mm f1.4 :))

I found a Ricoh singled tls with this lens but I’ve never used it. I bought it for $20 why is this lens so special ?

I have one, that I think originally went with my Singlex, but it's filthy and not in good shape. Curious why you like this so much....

@@walterarroyo5220 It was made by Tomioka and is highly sought after today for it's terrific bokeh and general excellence. It often sells on eBay for $150 or more. Tomioka lenses in general are highly prized.

I believe the Ricoh was originally a Mamyia design, also licensed and sold as a Cosina, Argus, et al.

I believe the TLS' predecessor may have been a Mamiya design, possibly related to the Nikkorex, but the TLS is a licensed copy of the Chinonflex.
