a very useful tip in the create mod, is that almost every block can be shift-right-clicked with a wrench to instantly break it and it comes in your inventory automatically. And the wrench don't even have durability! Some vanilla blocks can be picked up the same way too like redstone dust, and maybe some other redstone blocks.
