Love this! In this day of high food prices, everyone should have a kitchen scrap garden.
Had to laugh !!!! This is how we did it in grade school science class. Worked then so why not now... Love it.
Did I just step into health haven. I started searching how to wash beans but now its getting more interesting then I ever thought. Wow
EVERYONE needs to know this!
Thank you for a excellent demonstration of pre-starting my seeds.
Thanks for sharing!
I soak mine overnight and put them in a Callander in a warm place. As soon as they show a root plant them in the row, root side down. As they sprout plant them. Any that don't sprout in a few days cook for dinner. God bless
Nice way to have fresh beans to eat or dry for soups ect.
Just soak the dry beans for a few hours then plant out in your garden.
Works for me . 🙂
Or just direct sow into the garden. It works fine as long as the soil stays somewhat moist
I love how people make things more complicated than it needs to be. Just plant outside and water nature takes care of the rest.
Im trying to grow some myself. What exactly is few hours?
fyi you need to know if they are pole or bush - if they are pole you should plant a teepee in that type of square garden then plant the seedlings at the base so you don't disturb the growing plants when it comes time for them to need the poles to continue growing
Thank you!
Alternatively, grow some corn along with the beans, they'll have a stalk to climb, and the corn has nitrogen ❤
try keeping the beans in a dark place to speed up germination, seeds actually require darkness to germinate
Wow! You are amazing!
Great information. Thank You so very much!!
From a vegetable gardener, don't bother with the paper towel part, just plant them in clusters in some good quality compost either in pots to plant on if its too cold or direct in the garden if its warm. Water regularly. Beans and peas like warm weather and need a good root system to grow, no need to touch the roots, dont mess about with them too much or they will fail.
How resourceful! Thanks.
Thank you great video 😁🥳 I will try that
Very informative!
I’m definitely going to try this with black beans.
Black beans and garbanzos have the same amino acid profile as chicken breast. Add an egg or a little meat to have great nutrition.
Thanks for the advice!
What a great tutorial! Thank you so much!

Did you ever get a harvest of beans from these I was just wondering didn't see any more videos about it
I did this once a few years ago. Found that the beans needed a trellis. Beans actually grew, but they were smaller than the beans store bought. Maybe they needed to grow a little longer, but I was excited!
Did these grow as a pole or bush variety?
Those store bought beans are GMO. They will grow lots of green but will not produce much if any beans. Get heritage beans and you will have plenty beans year after year
Brain dead pov
I have never had any issues with store bought
Same here I always got a good crop I learned this trick from my grandmother, just go to the supermarket and for a buck and a half you got a pound of seed
Can these baby plants be eaten as micro greens?
Depends on the beans. It's mostly snap beans that are good for micro greens and mung beans.
OR...just put them 3/4" into the garden soil and keep wet.
Can they grow in bags ?
Black bean seeds in before you plant storage
Does anyone tried this on mung bean? Is mung bean GMO bean?
Mung beans work just like regular store bought seeds
I thought it was a dark space?
My bean seedling keeps getting eaten by earwigs .
I thought that the store bought Beans where fucked up by modern food handling so they never could sprout.
Will this work with mung beans?
They will grow, but only leaves and no bean. They’re GMO.
@@floydsadler3559 I did get a harvest last year with them , not huge but beans
I am currently grow both black eyed peas and pinto beans this way.
