just from the chat you can see so many people are combo-brained. they see josh ending on "1 baronne only" and say it's bad or miserable, but with fountain and a hand full of cards, potential runicks, the deck is very much capable of grinding.
from the most intense matches i’ve had and the high level play i’ve watched i feel the ability to grind is one of the key factors for high level play and playing with people at a similar level to you and a lot of people have this weird mentality that the game is always over just a few turns when i feel it’s more like half short games half grind games.

if you dont have a bunch of cards in hand after building your board in Runick, either you opened with some other side engine, got Ash'd or Droll'd, or you're doing something wrong. It is a mill deck after all, its not built around pushing hard or establishing a big board. Its about ripping cards from the deck. Its basically a modern day Empty Jar deck thats capable of defending itself and reaching lethal at about turn 5-6 or later if they've emptied their opponent's hand of resources. Now if you do want to end on big boards, i'd recommend playing a Dogmatika package along side your Incredible Ecclesia package. Nadir Servant is pretty strong in this deck if you resolve it after your Runick shit, and Ecclesia can summon from the deck either Iris Swordsoul going first or Fallen of Albaz going second to eat cards like Naturia Beast. If you're wondering how I grab Fountain if i cant go into Hugin, I grab it off Tip if necessary since sometimes Hugin's -1 puts me in a tough situation. And if i can end on a lot of pieces like Punishment and Iris, I can usually defend myself with my quickplays in my hand, so Hugin is optional sometimes.

To fix the not enough non-tuners problem: I dislike adding more runick spells, because I always draw the ones I've already used that turn. Also, we are limited to 5 extra deck summons, one of which only combos with a level 1 tuner. A few ideas to play instead of vision + 2x gaia : Calligo claw crow - free special summon if you control a dark, which should be easy enough in this deck. Level 2 also fits great into the synchro pool as it can substitute for a hugin. Snatch steal, change of heart, mind control - sucks going first, but using opnents monster to synchro seems great, although the levels and availablity are unpredictable, which makes it hard to plan around. Worst case you can bait a negate this way. 2x living fossil + monster reborn - fossil is great because it can be either a tuner or non tuner, whichever you need. Same thing with reborn, plus you can use your opponents grave or monsters which are higher than level 4 to shortcut into high level synchros. Or maybe cut afd for power tool dragon as a level seven and play 3x living fossil. This way power tool will guarantee a living fossil, which can be used to recycle either a non tuner runick or tuner earthbound. Or maybe I'm just coping as I don't want to order cards, which I don't already own to fix the deck ':D
I loved the concept ! Please do more of those !! And yeah with a LP count, show the match score on stream and a better camera angle (because sometimes we see your hand), it will be perfect !
Josh's work on the Eb Runicks deck was a thing of beauty Just wish Ko$ had seen more fit to make the EB fusions better. The kraken is a boss of a card, but it's so difficult to make (even with Harmonic Fusion, since there's only one non-tuner eb in stone sweeper) and Gremlina is an awkward level with a very limited selection of search targets And the BIG fusion looks cool as hell, but while Kraken is only difficult to bring out, the big guy is nigh impossible...
This is kinda ironic the fact that at the end is always Josh saying: "i need more runick man!" It was before and it was still now, simply incredible😂. Overall the deck seems decent, i think this match help you to understand more the deck. I enjoy this duel/video sir 👍

I think I found a good Dis Pater line, but it requires you to draw into a 3rd Runick off of Fountain (or even just open 3) Start off with the standard Groundskeeper + 2 Runicks line: 1. DP activate Runick to summon Hugin, Hugin discard to search Fountain 2. MP1 summon Ground Keeper to summon Line Walker, Line Walker search Prison 3. Synch Hugin with Line Walker into Rose Maiden, Rose Maiden search Black Garden 4. Synch Rose Maiden with Ground Keeper into Coral Dragon 5. Activate Fountain, activate 2nd Runick to summon Geri, draw two (or three if you discarded a Runick off of Hugin) with Fountain 6. Synch Geri with Coral Dragon into Baronne de Fleur, draw one off of Coral Dragon This is where I diverted 7. Activate Black Garden, activate 3rd Runick to summon Sleipnir, which summons a token off of Black Garden 8. Activate Black Garden's effect targeting Line Walker in your grave, destroying the token and summoning Line Walker 9. Synch Sleipnir with Line Walker into Crimson Dragon, activate Crimson Dragon targeting Baronne de Fleur to summon Dis Pater At this point you have Baronne de Fleur and Dis Pater on board, Prison and 3 other cards in hand, plus a Rose Maiden in grave you've not yet used. If you've drawn another Runick with your 3-4 draws, you can summon another Hugin to search your 2nd Fountain, then summon Coral from grave with Rose Maiden's effect. Synch Hugin with Coral to make Omega. My build also runs Pot of Avarice which is I save until this part of the combo. What do you think of the baby chaos dragons plus chaos space as a way to make dis pater? You always put a light and a dark in the grave and chaos space is at worst a free discard to draw 1. They make level 10 synchros alongside coral dragon and can be looped with dis pater. You can even put chaos space back in the grave with omega for additional draws in the grind game. Edit: This would also be able to replace a second runick quickplay in hands where you only draw one as they can replace geri as a level 4 non-tuner. A hand of 1 runick, level 1 tuner, baby dragon would end on baronne, dis pater, and omega loop 1 with garden rose back in grave for follow up.
HEY Josh OR SKRELP. having LP on screen is easy I *think*. have a calculator/neuron/whatever open in a window, and have it as an object in OBS. you can even crop it so it *just* shows the total
I also think if you have to combo so hard to end on baron an omega, you should definitly play the fusion synchro spell. Its a shorter combo and better against droll and you still can end on baron and pred. Plant. But the goal should be baron, dis pater and omega. You would have Potential runicks or handtraps too. This endboard would be strong

I did watch it but i still think the Version with the fusion synchro spell works better and it uses less recources. You could cut resonator for the spell. 1) summon sleipnir in draw Phase 2) classic earthbound combo for summons 2 and 3 and add the fusion synchro spell 3) use spell for summons 4 and 5, which one of them is baron and can negate nib i guess. And it uses only 1 runick to get baron + predplant. U could also use/summon the earthbound fusion monster to get fountain. And it can play out under droll.
And with a secon runick spell you could get frecki to summon omega. Your endboard would be predplant baron (not the atk halfed one like in his version) and omega with only 2 runicks Or U could summon hugin to discard for fountain after that (2 runicks used by now) for Set up if you have one more runick. Later you could make level 5 synchro plays lets say danglon for nine pillars. Yes, you would need to play the trap once as a potencial brick...but come on. This Version is still easier to play out than his first Version. His Version would be insane if he could make dis Pater, baron and omega with maiden in grave for the loop.
I like the deck, but I feel it’s missing some pivotal boss monsters. Granted, this is a budget deck, not an optimal deck, but perhaps reevaluating the synchro climb and end board monsters might help to optimize the deck.
You do realize that the runick spells provide another point of interruption? Also, they skip your next battle phase, so pushing for game after stalling out your opponents turn once does not really work. Baronne + gamma + a couplw of spells and any handtrap you draw into is a lot of interruption already, I think. More boss monsters also means less small synchros to use for climbing which will lead to better end boards with great handa and useless end boards with bad hands. I'd rather have more consistent but weaker boards than inconsistent banger boards. If the latter was preferable, everyone would play snychro spam with tripple quasar.
How I handle Life points for live streams is I use OBS ninja to screenshare from my phone or my tablet and then just use the Neuron life points counter. You can set a timer, do dice rolls etc and it all gets broadcast to OBS.
@JoshuaSchmidt what do you think about monster reborn possibly? I know u mentioned wanting more non tuner bodies a few times and if you get into a grind game its easy to run through all ur runics. Im in love with this deck, ive been messing with it myself. I completely cut the resonator pkg it felt off to me, and replaced with 3rd Talents, called by, and ive been waffleing between a 19th runic spell and mon reborn. In theory reborn is great its basically whatever you need in the mid-lategame.
Ive been messing with this deck on sims for a couple of weeks now and zalamander catalyzer solves a couple of problems,1 it is a level 4 non tuner, and 2 it provides a way to summon an earthbound outside of your normal summon
I feel like the issue with the resonator engine is it needs at least the scarred to red dragon archfiend synchro combo in the mix because then you have the threat of the flip all face down and board wipe with red dragon plus you can build off the 8 into a 9 with a level 1 for abyss if you add it or just crocodragon, or a 10 for barronne using vision which only really bricks if you have only a line walker left as a tuner but the odds of that happening are pretty slim when you can pretty much just synchro linewalker and stonesweeper. otherwise im not sure how much 2-3 new synchro monsters swapped out from the extra deck would hurt it, but its a more solid line, but I also see the issue with the resonator engine at the same time. honestly im out here just trying to set up for greater linewalker and earthbound immortal whale so I can burn my opponent then go runick fountain so that they are left with 1600 LP after turn one and still hand full of runick cards. otherwise dope vid. so glad earthbound has support making it viable again.
josh (or anyone), i would like to ask why dont we use revolution synchron over jet synchron to send off accel, my arguments would be: if you draw it and u have only runicks and none of the tuners its a better normal than jet, otherwise you can discard it and it performs almost the same as jet (the only downside being you have to have something already to summon it unlike jet which could help extend when u have nothing) however the upside js potentially milling a runick instead of discarding something, the fact that if you send off accel you can easily make accel 8 and use another hugin to go into baronne
Thoughts on something like fenrir to give yourself a body and more hand advantage? I understand it’s not the greatest if you summon Hugin in DP, however I feel it gives a solid body and helps play into boards
Pak is correct!! Not enough people have talking how droll isn’t that good, it removes some disruption but not enough to outright win still gonna be a long grind. Fire king is a deck that requires a minimum of 2 hand traps to actually stop more effectively.

Had a thought - probably best to take marcher out for dis pater, and then in the 6 non engine slots have 6 ghost girls, as 3 star tuners to be summoned with fairy dragon to make dis pater

I hope runick decks are decent into phni format. It’s pretty much the best thing I can afford. Although I’m not confident since Josh said himself he’s pressured into playing a fire deck post phni.
The yang zing and predaplant fusion play is better than the witch synchro cause in game two you could have an omni negate for cyclone which would let you draw 3 and have a monster negate not to mention what you draw off of fountain
Against rescue ace... why does nobody side in lightning storms and harpie feather dusters? Im so confused. Yes they can chain some, but atleast their backrows are all gone
If you droll but they get ash plus another card on field, they still end on ip flamburge whale + princess in gy. Assuming the most common play STARTS with Ash, droll wont be too good. Droll is stopping them from getting to the fire king cards and making heatsoul. Droll only hard punishes the low rolls.
@@alexYu-gi-ohI mean sp or apoll for 3 then flamburge summoning 2 to 4 bodies and searching 2 to 3 more cards is pretty strong. Even if youre able to clear all of it theres no way you kill them which is enough.
i dont like metal marcher because rarely will they imperm your level 1 instead of hugin, sure it would suck to not be able to extend but the extra is so tight idk if that deserves its own line

Hi Joshua, I just saw your vid, I think the deck is awesome and has a great potential. I was thinking… maybe you can do some changes adding 1 or two lights monters, so you can use Black Dragon Collapserpent because you already have a lot of dark for White Dragon Wyverburster. Also you can add instant fusion taking out the lvl 10 synchro and adding a lvl 5 or lower fusion. Maybe a light monster or something that helps with the follow up.
Generally, unless a card specifically says "destroy" it does not destroy. The only exception is with older cards that have not been printed for 15+ years, those are weird.

I like the deck, but I feel it’s missing some pivotal boss monsters. Granted, this is a budget deck, not an optimal deck, but perhaps reevaluating the synchro climb and end board monsters might help to optimize the deck.
You do realize that the runick spells provide another point of interruption? Also, they skip your next battle phase, so pushing for game after stalling out your opponents turn once does not really work.
Baronne + gamma + a couplw of spells and any handtrap you draw into is a lot of interruption already, I think.
More boss monsters also means less small synchros to use for climbing which will lead to better end boards with great handa and useless end boards with bad hands. I'd rather have more consistent but weaker boards than inconsistent banger boards. If the latter was preferable, everyone would play snychro spam with tripple quasar.
You could go after baron for shenshen. I mean it would hinder you too, but you coul later synchro it away for chengy

How I handle Life points for live streams is I use OBS ninja to screenshare from my phone or my tablet and then just use the Neuron life points counter. You can set a timer, do dice rolls etc and it all gets broadcast to OBS.

@JoshuaSchmidt what do you think about monster reborn possibly? I know u mentioned wanting more non tuner bodies a few times and if you get into a grind game its easy to run through all ur runics. Im in love with this deck, ive been messing with it myself. I completely cut the resonator pkg it felt off to me, and replaced with 3rd Talents, called by, and ive been waffleing between a 19th runic spell and mon reborn. In theory reborn is great its basically whatever you need in the mid-lategame.
Ive been messing with this deck on sims for a couple of weeks now and zalamander catalyzer solves a couple of problems,1 it is a level 4 non tuner, and 2 it provides a way to summon an earthbound outside of your normal summon
I feel like the issue with the resonator engine is it needs at least the scarred to red dragon archfiend synchro combo in the mix because then you have the threat of the flip all face down and board wipe with red dragon plus you can build off the 8 into a 9 with a level 1 for abyss if you add it or just crocodragon, or a 10 for barronne using vision which only really bricks if you have only a line walker left as a tuner but the odds of that happening are pretty slim when you can pretty much just synchro linewalker and stonesweeper. otherwise im not sure how much 2-3 new synchro monsters swapped out from the extra deck would hurt it, but its a more solid line, but I also see the issue with the resonator engine at the same time.
honestly im out here just trying to set up for greater linewalker and earthbound immortal whale so I can burn my opponent then go runick fountain so that they are left with 1600 LP after turn one and still hand full of runick cards.
otherwise dope vid. so glad earthbound has support making it viable again.
josh (or anyone), i would like to ask why dont we use revolution synchron over jet synchron to send off accel, my arguments would be: if you draw it and u have only runicks and none of the tuners its a better normal than jet, otherwise you can discard it and it performs almost the same as jet (the only downside being you have to have something already to summon it unlike jet which could help extend when u have nothing) however the upside js potentially milling a runick instead of discarding something, the fact that if you send off accel you can easily make accel 8 and use another hugin to go into baronne

Pak is correct!! Not enough people have talking how droll isn’t that good, it removes some disruption but not enough to outright win still gonna be a long grind. Fire king is a deck that requires a minimum of 2 hand traps to actually stop more effectively.

Huginn discards for cost so it doesn't trigger Broww.

The yang zing and predaplant fusion play is better than the witch synchro cause in game two you could have an omni negate for cyclone which would let you draw 3 and have a monster negate not to mention what you draw off of fountain

Runick is a grindy deck and lightning storm post their first turn is a dead draw
If you droll but they get ash plus another card on field, they still end on ip flamburge whale + princess in gy. Assuming the most common play STARTS with Ash, droll wont be too good. Droll is stopping them from getting to the fire king cards and making heatsoul. Droll only hard punishes the low rolls.
Ip + princess is a dogshit end board so droll done enough honestly, idk why people want droll to outright win the game on the spot

Hi Joshua, I just saw your vid, I think the deck is awesome and has a great potential.
I was thinking… maybe you can do some changes adding 1 or two lights monters, so you can use Black Dragon Collapserpent because you already have a lot of dark for White Dragon Wyverburster.
Also you can add instant fusion taking out the lvl 10 synchro and adding a lvl 5 or lower fusion. Maybe a light monster or something that helps with the follow up.

Generally, unless a card specifically says "destroy" it does not destroy. The only exception is with older cards that have not been printed for 15+ years, those are weird.
