I have watched a few of these and had the same reaction. Especially when she was wearing a big turtleneck! Made her look neckless. Why aren't they giving her advice off camera if nothing else?
Rachel looks way too frumpy to be appearing on National television, much less hosting a makeover segment. Sorry, Rachel, but there just is no justification for your appearing in such an unappealing, unprofessional look.
Highlights in grey hair to get a 2 tone look is nice but let the silver shine.. we earned them. 😉 it's nice also to boost her self esteem with a new outfit.
I love that they gave her a change without permanently damaging the beautiful gray that she has working! I also really like that they worked with her style sensibilities (at least for her hair), with the simple cut. Good job, she looks great!

But society doesn’t “allow” women to embrace it. And women who says “but I colour my hair because I want to” doesn’t understand that they are brainwashed by society standards and norms.
No stylist can handle long hair. The only thing they know is to cut it short. After losing ten inches more than I askedfor, I‘ve decided to cut my hair myself. I also figured out how to cut it around my face so it doesn‘t pull down too much. Oh, and I have embraced my grey hair, too.. It makes me look unique and dying hair gives just way too much money to an industry that produces chemicals which damage us and our environment.

Grey is a crown of knowledge and wisdom...nothing to be ashamed of. ...I'm 50 years old and mine is starting to turn grey and I plan on leaving it that way...once you get a certain age and mature and know what life is really about, you don't care what people think anymore, it's so freeing 😍😘🤩

Don't be misled. Whether temporary, semi-permanent, demi-permanent, or permanent it is not going to fade all the way back to the natural hair color. There will be a line of demarcation. As a professional, it offends me when other professionals use the fading in the sales pitch.

Before was a very cool look 50 years ago. They could have done as much with a makeup tutorial and a fashion update. Veneers would have done more for a glam look than the glitzy clothing.
I liked the care and time he put into her hair, and even considered her grooming routine style and the grow-out process. I just wish they kept the turquoise and silver and made it killer and edgy; that way she’s still the same person, but just with a update.
She’s never cut her hair...sometimes one good haircut could do justice...it’s hair it will GROW BACK...it’s nothing wrong with a change...her outfit is fine...that’s what makeovers are...DIFFERENT!! She won’t wear that outfit every day...🙄

Mary Roybal How many middle-aged men do you know dye their hair?? The only ‘dye’ I see in the stores for men is Just For Men; a comb-in gradual coloring. But, no men I know use it. Most men look great with gray hair; not so with women. Especially if it’s a ‘dowdy’ gray. Why would any women want to look older than they are? I find them lazy. It takes 30 minutes every 3 months or so to color your hair in your bathroom. 5-10 minutes a day to put on a little make up. You feel so much better when you try to look your best.

Got news for this guy. My experience was temporary color becomes a permanent line in time. After I let my hair go grey I got compliments from total strangers! You do need a good cut with layers for body though if you want to keep it long. The pants are absurd & the shoes a bad fit. I want to see what her husband looks like.

Sooo I used demi.. so now what does she do when the color comes off the greys.. this color should look brassy when it comes off. Then she's gonna look a mess. I think they shouldn't have changed her hair color soo much as, given her highlights... there's little upkeep with them. Plus her natural color comes thru. Thus she looks more natural. This lady loves the easy going natural clothes too. It needed to fit HER lifestyle, NOT someone else's.

But frankly, these two friends don't look that much different to before.
She can keep her grey hair and cut shorter that will work for her.. Dye her grey hair to nice greys as its modernized now. Grey is fantastic. I love grey. Since her hair is grey she will grow back to grey😄I think her outfit can change to a lighter smoother colour with her shoes.

Sooo I used demi.. so now what does she do when the color comes off the greys.. this color should look brassy when it comes off. Then she's gonna look a mess. I think they shouldn't have changed her hair color soo much as, given her highlights... there's little upkeep with them. Plus her natural color comes thru. Thus she looks more natural. This lady loves the easy going natural clothes too. It needed to fit HER lifestyle, NOT someone else's.
How gorgeous would her long grey hair be, if they had curled it?
