  • Another great little tool from Harbor Freight, I use this as my water pump for remote watering of plants, shrubs, and trees. I have also used this with my gas-powered pressure washer to create a portable washing system. So many ways this pump can be used.

    Compact and lightweight, this self-priming transfer pump is ideal for general-purpose clean water transfer. Pumps water at up to 320 GPH (gallons per hour).
    Rugged all metal construction
    Maximum flow: 320 GPH (gallons per hour)
    Total head lift: 42 ft.
    Dual threaded inlet and outlet: 3/4 in. garden hose thread

    Seems like one of Harbor Freight's decent tools. They do have some things it's best to avoid so hearing from someone with experience using this is valuable to me.

    Nice review. The ~160 gph fill rate of your tote vs. the 280 gph rating is due in part to the pump lifting the water ~6' out of your ditch. The 280 gph rating is at zero feet of lift - I suspect it would pump the water back into the ditch faster since it only has to lift the water about 18" out of the tote.

      You are correct but I also have massive wear with pitting on the pump plate and housing from using it with dirty water, which is my fault. That extra wear is very noticeable but should get me by until the end of this growing season.
