When he says Parsons comes up and feels Little underneath him trying to get up. But Little was already up so it might have been Foo. That's crazy that this is the interview that he's talking about. @WilsonAbrego the guy riding the wave with Parsons is Brock Little. Mark Foo wiped out in the wave before that, he had a two wave hold down because he could not disengage the leash from his ankle. Parsons says that Brock made it out, so it's most likely that Foo was the one he felt contact with underwater.

The third footage when the guy is on the wave but falls off the board and into the water how does he survive? Wouldn't it end up breaking and he'd be sent to the bottom of the swell?

You can go to smaller waves. Even in Hawai you have a lot of place where waves are great and allmost inocuitous (well if you can swim of course)
