VIRKELIG spændende serie, der kommer under den “tekniske” overflade af knivdesign, og ind til hvad jeg opfatter som “hjertet” af processen.
Can’t wait to watch episode 2
Me neither....if all goes as planned we are shooting that next week :)
A video on how the design process differs for your collaborative efforts would be great as well noting the success of GM.
I will take that into consideration. It is really not that different as my design process is pretty much the same though the mindset is a little different when designing for someone else....
Very good video. Thank you for taking the time to make this!
loved the strategy behind using a pen. more specifically the idea of becoming too much of a perfectionist TO EARLY! thank you! I will take that with me
Great you enjoyed that bit of advise. I recall when I was once "forced" to draw with a BIC pen during an exercize in the School of Architecture and hated it....but it made a deep impact on me....
I can clearly see your familiar design language in the shapes and lines of these sketches. A front-flipper button lock from you sounds like it will be just primo. Excited to see this model develop and for the next installment of this series, Jens. Cheers.
It is funny how that is....how lines tends to be on the paper even before I draw them. How a style develops over time. Glad you enjoyed the episode and I too look forward to the next steps.
As a hobby-author myself, I love to see how other creative people, from other forms of art, are going through their creative processes. Thanks for having a fanboy take a look at your work. That being said, I'm all ears for your pen project.
The pen is mightier right? I too have a great fascination with other craftsmanships and creative processes outside my own route....it is very inspiring and often I can take bits and pieces an adapt to my own process.
thank you very much and you are very welcome.
Amazing Jens. I can't wait to see the first prototype. Your videos are inspirational. Thank you.
Me too....! I can't wait to see what this will bring either...I am super excited.
oh a series of videos, and a series of tools.....a knife, pen and ....
yes exactly. :)
Another great video. Had been looking forward to seeing your design process. Thanks for sharing
glad you enjoyed the episode. Stay tuned for much more design content.
Great video. Love the new design and looking forward to the pen project. Only request, please make the clip reversible for us lefties especially if it's a button lock.
Thanks for the feedback. I will take that into consideration for sure. The way I normally make clips does not lend it self well for that though but I have considered to make left hand versions though...
So Jens, when is the Ansø pen coming out?! Can not wait!!!!
I am hoping for end of this year......:)
Wonderful insights into your process … thanks Jens!
I was really excited by the size and shape of the coming knife, looks exactly like my thing … until you mentioned the button lock. Which in itself is not a bad mechanism, but usually very poor from a usability point of view for lefties like myself … 😢 … well, I'll follow your series and hope for the best. 😀
Glad you enjoyed it...! If I get enough demand for a left hand version I will be offering that also! :) So if you are a lefty and reads this and you are interested let me know! :)
Jeg glæder mig til at jeg skal købe mit første folder!
Fedt...hvad skal det så være? ;)
Really excited about this new design and also the pen project!
thank you...me too! :)
For helvede hvor er du dedikeret! 💪 Mega fedt
Det er den eneste måde jeg kan fungere :)
In your process, how long until you'd have a first prototype?
That differs A LOT. It depends on what project it is, capacity in the workshop, what I am working on besides that project...it can differ from as fast as one week to several months. Most often as I mention in the video I will let a design simmer on paper for a while. that helps on the decision making.
