I love these little machines - they really do sew rather well. I have one from around 1914-1926 (she came with a 1914 manual, the thread path isn't numbered, and she has 8 'spokes' on her handwheel for those who are wondering how you tell). It sews like a dream and people are always fascinated by it. It must be about the quietest machine I've ever heard too. I'm really looking forward to seeing how you go all out on this one!

You are my hero! I have 3 little Sewhandy machines, with 2 being the 1950's style you are working on. I have always wanted to see how the inside parts operate but not brave enough to take one apart. Can't wait to see how this one turns out!

I can’t wait to see what you do to this. I could never get this back together right! 😮

    What a precious little machine!!! I want one...or 5!!! LOL 😊.
It's already a joy watching you disassemble these machines & to watch their amazing transformations. Can't wait to see her new paint job (although I love the 'origional' black). Thanks for sharing this with us!

Love it. I have been hunting for a mini to restore. Looking forward to seeing what you do with her. And what you do with the 66 Godzilla.

I found one of these in a rollaway dumpster full of all kinds of items from a cleanout. As a Design Engineer, I can't wait to watch this video for insight on restoration. I'm definitely going to document it on my channel. Is there a forum or website with a history or documentation on these? I'm not sure when mine is from.

Actually mine looks the same but the lettering is smaller. Same badge. I'm missing the spool holder but I can make one on the Taig micro lathe. I have that same Chapman setup with the right angle driver and yellow case. Amazing quality tools. 🤓 Oh where did you get the Singer decal you were talking about?

Hope it is going well. I had an extra "Singer" from a set of featherweight decals.

Did you ever figure out if the spool pin is a screw-in type? I’m missing the spool pin on mine. If it’s not screw-in is it a regular tap in type? I’d be worried about bending something if it’s tap-in. I watched the putting back together, you did a very nice job!

If I remember right that school pin is permanently attached. It is attempt in one, and I'm not too sure how to replace it. Maybe a nail? Where the head can be epoxy to the inside area and then the tip of the nail sanded down?

We ended up using a pop rivet without the “flange”. Hubby rounded off the pointy end and was able to press it in from underneath. The “round” part of the pop rivet is up underneath the spool platform. Looks great!

I pressed in a length of thick wire. Don’t force it or it might break off the boss
