    OMGOSH!! I have never seen one like that!! I’m 72 and this is really amazing!!! My mother just started us out on her regular sewing machine. But I was in love with my pedal machine which was a Singer. You have a treasure indeed!! Ty for sharing

      The other machine I have is a treadle and I am beyond excited to learn it. They are just so full of history and character. 🖤

    Talk about memories!!! That is the first sewing machine I ever used. My Mom got me one when I was 5 yeasts old. I made a ton of doll clothes with it. I still have mine in my curio cabinet. I guess I'll have to get it out and use it in some journals. By the way, my favorite sewing machine I use now is a1959 Singer 401A. Best machine ever made.

    Says something when a child’s toy made in 1955 is better made and more durable than an adults mostly plastic modern machine. Things were made to last back then, not designed for obsolescence as things are now. You got a REALLY GREAT find. Can already see how much fun you’re having and are going to have.

      Yes. I absolutely agree. It’s a huge reason why I started to reconsider how I live. I am so happy that I did because I finally found my love for vintage. 🖤

    My late father-in-law was the local Singer Sewing Machine Dealer for over 50 years. I need to check with my mother-in-law to see if she has one like this. My husband’s mom will be celebrating her 99th birthday next week.

    When you come to the end you need slow down because you can stop at the end lift foot up turn your paper the other way go back othe end were you stopped so that it doesn't come undone and you don't cut cotton off underneath just cotton infront of you because it will get knotted up you will have to undo it

    I still have mine that I got when I was about 7. I am now almost 75. Mine is black and still in the original box. Never liked it. I did a much better job of learning to sew on my Grandmother's 1930's long bobbin Singer.

      No. I don’t believe so.

    • @meganmills6545
      @meganmills6545 2 года назад +1

      The word you're looking for is "bobbin" and No - chain stitch machines, like sergers/overlockers, don't need to have a bobbin. So you don't need to worry about it running out or winding it, which is quite nice. :-)

    I guess you know that sewing through paper products dulls the point on a sewing needle.

    • @coupontoprovide
      @coupontoprovide  7 месяцев назад +1

      Yes. But I don’t sew clothes. I only sew on paper for journaling. So it’s inevitable. But thank you in case someone else didn’t know. 🖤
