First laser light show I'd ever seen and the music, as always with Paul, was flat awesome! The man is almost my age and still gives it his all at each show...2 - 3 hours!!?? Well as much as I'd like to agree - you're wrong. Yoko actually was a big influence on bands like the B-52's and she gets credit for that. Linda was forced by Paul to play keyboards and sing, but she really didn't care if she did it or not and didn't really do anything difficult music wise. Just the bare minimum. Yoko did play keyboards at the One to One Concert, but I don't recall her being a musician beyond that. But she did write songs, and had a single that was a minor hit on the dance scene in 1980.

Actually Yoko was a trained pianist having studied from age 4 to about 13. She could also read music which is more than John could do. That she ended up playing in Paul's band was a matter of circumstance. Paul wanted to tour and wanted his family with him. John didn't want to tour. Simple.
Yoko is actually talented, but her voice isn’t my thing at all. Linda did great harmonies, her voice is at the core of Wings’ warm sound, along with Denny. I also love her song “Oriental Nightfish” a lot, very psychedelic and weird, even for the 70’s.

This probably doesn’t count as 5 degrees of separation due to the wobbly time lines but I may be wrong.
After the Beatles, I like many wished they might get together again. Twas not meant to be. Wings as they started, not unlike John and Yoko, were doing they're own thing. Paul and Linda and their friends impressed me simply with their love of music, but most of all love of each other and love of friends. They just had it. Ram was the first album I bought. I loved it. I bought everything they did after that. I got to see the newer v and in Kansas City on a full moon night, 1995. Linda was there. I got pretty emotional. The show was fantastic. Linda and Paul were connected to each other, the band, and all of us. The fans. Lady Linda and Sir Paul. Thank you. sure do wish Linda were here with you still. Your legendary music lives on. T

I would not call Wings Wild Life garbage. McCartney did some pretty gutsy and experimental stuff. If you look at some of his early solo work and the first couple of Wings albums without stuffing them in a Beatles box, they were all excellent records. Paul was trying to distance himself from the Beatles. So were John and George. Each of their first solo efforts were unique. It's all in how you look at it. I saw Wings perform at The Oakland Coliseum in 1976. We had good seats and they played well but the only Beatles song they performed was "I Saw Her Standing There." You'd think "Yesterday" would be almost mandatory.
This band Wingz was Faul's revenge! He survived his internship with the Beatles (as Paul's replacement & look alike) and became a huge success without the Beatles. He's always been really good looking, and very lean. I'd say he never went much over 165 lbs (75 Kg) or below 155 (70 kg), so unlike Lennon who had his plump and anorexic periods, he always looked great.

Yes McCartney has incredible talent. Why do you think we call such people 'gifted'? He didn't work any harder than most of us do, his talents are innate or god-given the religious might say. Not only can he create amazing music which being able to do must be hugely rewarding quite apart from the material rewards, but it is something he quite understandably loves doing. How many of us can say that about our means of making a living? Undeniably he is an outrageously fortunate individual and we bestow honors on him as though he somehow earned his gifts! Now if he does good eith the proceeds of his fortune, maybe we should honor him for that.
I just purchased a vinyl copy of"Wildlife" and I didn't find it terribly exciting. There was maybe 2 or 3 decent tracks, other than it seemed like mostly improvised material. I prefer the polish of "Ram" or "Band on the Run."

I love Paul and and Linda but to be really fair they loved this kind of thing being out there. It was who they were and are. Paul always loved anything about him to be out there for people to see. Jaap Mooi Hallo Jaap, leuk verhaal. Ik kan me goed voorstellen dat je je tranen niet meer de baas kon zijn. Ben ook al jarennnnn fan / liefhebber van Paul / Beatles. Heb hem diverse malen live gezien. Nu ook weer opnieuw in Amsterdam evenals jij op 8 juni. We zijn hiervoor speciaal naar Nederland gekomen daar we al een tijdje in het buitenland wonen. 18 uur auto rijden voor een 2 1/2 uur durend optreden. Het was het meer dan waard. En ook ik, had tranen in mijn ogen. Zoals bij elk van zijn concert. Mijn gevoel zegt me dat dit de laatste keer was dat ie live te zien was. Ik hoop dat ik het mis heb.

Fagin is a great part. You've have to pick a pocket or two. I just watched that film about a month ago on DVD. I still remember seeing it at The Alexandria Theater in San Francisco when it came out in 1968. It played there for 18 months.

I would not call Wings Wild Life garbage. McCartney did some pretty gutsy and experimental stuff. If you look at some of his early solo work and the first couple of Wings albums without stuffing them in a Beatles box, they were all excellent records. Paul was trying to distance himself from the Beatles. So were John and George. Each of their first solo efforts were unique. It's all in how you look at it. I saw Wings perform at The Oakland Coliseum in 1976. We had good seats and they played well but the only Beatles song they performed was "I Saw Her Standing There." You'd think "Yesterday" would be almost mandatory.
This band Wingz was Faul's revenge! He survived his internship with the
Beatles (as Paul's replacement & look alike) and became a huge success without the Beatles. Fauls' personal story as a rocker and a Beatle is the greatest story that is just slowly but surely being realized by those ,"who have ears to hear, eyes to see." cheers!

His 1970-early 71 period was still good, with his beard, his Tommy Nutter suits, and fair isle sweaters in Scotland. But his 70s Wings period was atrocious in the clothes/hair department, and the 80s were not much better. To give him his due, he's Paul McCartney and he can do as he pleases. He's always been really good looking, and very lean. I'd say he never went much over 165 lbs (75 Kg) or below 155 (70 kg), so unlike Lennon who had his plump and anorexic periods, he always looked great.

Well, in terms of David Bowie and Bryan Ferry's mullets, and Paul had that toned down version budget barber version for most of the Wings era.
love them or hate them , in England the Gallagher brothers gave The Beatles appreciation to the generation born in the early 1970s that had only been hinted at by the likes of Elvis Costello at Live Aid for us born in 1964 for whom punk & synth pop paid no obvious respect or dues to. Or to put it another way , for us in England aged 20 in 1984 The Beatles were something much older siblings or with young parents had loved & Wings had hit songs when we were 10yrs old but nobody from Adam Ant or Lemmy or Terry Hall ever overtly praised The Beatles as an iconic influence.( although Paul Weller obviously loved Steve Marriott)…I learn how to work a Dansette or that u had to plonk the arm at the edge of the disc using She’s A Woman / I Feel Fine 😃

He didn't work any harder than most of us do, his talents are innate or god-given the religious might say. Not only can he create amazing music which being able to do must be hugely rewarding quite apart from the material rewards, but it is something he quite understandably loves doing. How many of us can say that about our means of making a living? Undeniably he is an outrageously fortunate individual and we bestow honors on him as though he somehow earned his gifts! Now if he does good eith the proceeds of his fortune, maybe we should honor him for that.

I just purchased a vinyl copy of"Wildlife" and I didn't find it terribly exciting. There was maybe 2 or 3 decent tracks, other than it seemed like mostly improvised material. I prefer the polish of "Ram" or "Band on the Run."
Can you imagine what the plants could have been sold for on the market as Paul McCartney's Home Grown? Beatle freaks would have paid a fortune to have that stash.

I actually love every Wings album, they’re all different from each other.
"Band On The Run" is the only post Beatles album that impressed me. None of the solo albums match anything The Beatles did as a group.

It's rare in my life and I'm so grateful it's still around because so many things are pulled now due to copyright. He's so cool to not pull this because it's super personal.
I love Paul and and Linda but to be really fair they loved this kind of thing being out there. It was who they were and are. Paul always loved anything about him to be out there for people to see. Nothing wrong with that. You can see a lot of their personal life on a doco called Wingspan where Mary interviews Paul about Wings and Linda. It's available on line on ebay and in stores. Been out for years
