@@mag1631bro if you watched it the def didn’t care I agree it was pathetic. The gm was OVER! They don’t give shit and most of the scrubs were in preserving the A team for the PLAYOFFS!!!
Part 1: "To whom much is given, much is expected." Think of what Ohio State was gifted against Michigan -- an entire "Top 10: list: 1. $20 Million payroll 2. TWO "championship level" head coaches (Ryan Day & Chip Kelly) 3. The ABSENCE of Jim Harbaugh (no longer having to coach against him and instead facing a new head coach in his first year and coaching his first "Big Game" at Michigan) 4. Tremendous blue-chip talent on offense 5. Playing at home in Columbus (with assistance of home crowd) 6. Great weather (i.e., "should" have been conducive to offensive explosiveness and more scoring) 7. Opposing team playing without TWO key defensive starters 8. Opposing team playing with a walk-on QB 9. Opposing team experiencing a down year with a crappy record 10. You are the #2 team in the entire Nation coming off a big win over previously undefeated Indiana And yet with all those advantages, what does OSU do? They LOSE -- coming up incredibly small in the biggest moment of their season and show themselves to be mere overhyped "paper tigers" living off the media-bloated "reputation" of the BIG 10 Conference (just as far too many second-level SEC teams enjoy "benefit of the doubt" inflated rankings solely because of the similar media-inflated "reputation" of the SEC !!! It was INEXCUSABLE for OSU to lose and THROW AWAY its opportunity to play in the BIG 10 Conference Championship game given all the advantages they enjoyed !!!!!! Indeed, IMO Ohio State performed SO abysmally given their advantages that NOT ONLY do they no longer "deserve" a home playoff game in the first round of the playoff, BUT ALSO in my view they are (and if they aren't, they should be) AT BEST "ON THE BUBBLE" and arguably MIGHT "deserve" to MISS THE PLAYOFFS COMPLETELY -- DEPENDING ON HOW the CONFERENCE PLAYOFF GAMES SHAKE OUT !!!! Moreover, even though it kills me to say this because I can't stand "the U," arguably the 10-2 Miami Hurricanes deserve a close-to-the-cut-line playoff spot AHEAD of the same-record 10-2 Ohio State Buckeyes. Why? Because even though Miami and Ohio State both lost games in which they were favored because they possessed "superior talent," at least Miami lost ON THE ROAD in a HOSTILE INDOOR ENVIRONMENT (whereas OSU enjoyed playing at home and yet still lost) ... and Miami played against a team with its starting QB and a better record than what Michigan had (a walk-on QB and a worse record than Syracuse). I don't care that OSU "started" the day #2 ahead of Miami's #6; OSU deserves to fall further in the rankings than Miami. Again, "to whom MUCG is given, MUCH is expected." The irony is that, this year when we finally have a long overdue expanded playoff format (ushered in because it was too often impossible to distinguish a clear-cut "top 4 best teams" who should have the right to compete for the National Championship), we actually have a clear "cut-line" of the top four teams WITHOUT EVEN NEEDING the extra weekend for the inherently flawed and pointless money-grabbing "Conference Championship Game" !!! The Committee could easily take a group of Oregon, Texas, Penn State, and Notre Dame based on final records (no team worse than 11-1) and their performances in their big make-or-break season-ending games against rivals. All had big wins. But since 12 teams are now in order, if right now TODAY I had to pick "only 12" playoff slots, this would be my list:
Lincoln Riley was looking for revenge after his offense was totally shutdown last year, he’s had a year to look at it and put in a good game plan cause that is not the same game plan they did against UCLA. That was a different team that played the Bruins. He threw his best shot and came up on the loosing end. Go Irish 🍀
Part 2: Since 12 teams are now in order, if right now TODAY I had to pick "only 12" playoff slots, this would be my list: Upon completion of the regular season, the UNQUESTIONED "Top 4" teams are: 1. Oregon 2. Texas 3. Penn State 4. Notre Dame The following next two deserving teams outside of the above Top 4 "should" be safely inside the remaining 8 teams allowed into the 12-team playoff bracket, regardless of the outcome of any "Conference Championship Game(s)": 5. Indiana (ONE loss ON THE ROAD at then-#2 Ohio State -- largely the result of 2 special teams breakdowns leading to TDs -- should not automatically place this 11-1 team outside of the playoffs ... especially when some 2 loss teams will definitely make the playoffs and perhaps even a 3-loss team or two. Indiana could have sulked and tanked; instead, they responded with a crushing shutout victory over Purdue, a common opponent they had with Ohio State -- they beat Purdue by 21 points more than Ohio State did [both shut-outs]) 6. Boise State (even "if" they lose their 13th game, unless they look horrible, they still deserve to be in the 12-team playoff field IMO ... because they are presently 11-1, and their ONLY blemish [a last-second ROAD loss in Eugene when now 12-0 Oregon kicked a field goal with mere seconds remaining] ought to be a "mulligan") IF the following 2 teams win their Conference Championship Games, they SHOULD also be safely included in the 12-team playoff tournament; and/but if they lose, they each have different circumstances: 7. SMU (yet if they lose the ACC Conference Championship Game to 3-loss Clemson -- especially if they lose badly -- they fall onto the bubble and are likely out because they almost had another loss [they beat Duke by only 1 point in OT]) 8. Georgia (If they beat Texas again for the SEC Title, they will definitely make the playoff; and if they lose, they still aren't "necessarily" out of the playoffs [especially if it's a close loss] -- they fall on the bubble but are likely included because they belong to the propagandist media's reputation-inflated SEC). The next 2/3 teams "deserve" to be included in the playoffs IF they win their remaining game(s): 9. the WINNER of the Iowa State vs. Arizona State game (they will finish 11-2 and merit serious consideration for inclusion in the 12-team playoff (especially over present 3-loss teams from the megaconferences; the loser of the game is out). 10. Army IF they beat Tulane AND also beat Navy to finish 12-1 (but if they lose either or both, they should not make the playoffs; unfortunately for Army, I don't know if their game against Navy will occur before the playoff selections are made [??] ... but even if not, if Army wins their Conference Championship Game against Tulane, they will then have an 11-1 record at that point in time, with their only loss being against Top-10 Notre Dame which arguably "should" stack up more favorably than a 3-loss Alabama which got DESTROYED and EMBARRASSED just a week ago by .500 Oklahoma ... or any other presently 3-loss SEC team) Finally, the following teams who will NOT be participating in any "Conference Championship Game" will have to "duke it out" in propaganda/"reputation" wars for the remaining couple of slots -- anywhere from as few as 2 openings to as many as 4 or 5 slots could open up depending on the outcomes of several conference title games next weekend. Note that most of the beneficiaries of these "last chance" tournament openings enjoy this special treatment because they belong to one of the two megaconferences which enjoy media-driven inflated reputations (i.e., the SEC and BIG 10). In no particular order, these fortunate teams are: 11. Tennessee (10-2) -- padded record with 3 out-of-conference cupcakes with terrible records 12. Ohio State (10-2) -- a terrible failure against Michigan "should" put them BEHIND U Miami for playoff consideration (as discussed above) 13. U Miami (10-2) 14. UNLV (10-2) In addition, there are three 9-3 teams that invariably will be considered by the Playoff Selection Committee: 15. Alabama (9-3) 16. Ole Miss (9-3) 17. South Carolina (9-3) IMO, however, these latter 9-3 teams from the SEC should NOT be considered because there are already MORE teams with better earned final records (containing DOUBLE-DIGIT wins to boot) than the 12-team playoff tournament has room to accommodate. Quite WRONGLY there will be a push to have at least one of those 3-loss SEC teams included (even at the expense of a 10 or 11-win team if need be) ... all based SOLELY upon the ESPN/ABC propaganda that supposedly "the SEC is so head-and-shoulders superior" to other conferences (pure B.S. once you get past the top team or two in any given season). In conclusion as previously stated, ironically as THIS season has played out, they probably could have made do quite nicely with "only" a 4-team playoff bracket because there are 4 clear-cut "Top 4" teams at season's end prior to any need for "conference championship games." I recognize that, most seasons, there are usually around 5, 6, or as many as 8 or 9 teams that legitimately are "the cream" of the top throughout the season that come to the forefront and can truthfully claim to be deserving of a shot at the National Championship. That's why the playoffs rightly expanded to 12 teams (although they probably could have started the expansion effort with merely an 8-team bracket at first with NO "byes" to see how it went and whether there was any need for a 12-team bracket). I have no problem with more playoff teams than the former "just 4" ... 8, 12, or eventually a 16-team bracket will give more good teams a chance -- especially when traditional legacy powerhouse teams such as USC, Michigan, Florida State, Florida, etc. that have struggled mightily this season don't have the epically bad years that they have had. Moreover, IF the Committee ever elects to award some 3-loss SEC or BIG 10 teams a playoff spot "just because" of their conference's media-inflated propaganda "reputation," then they definitely OUGHT to implement these four permanent tweaks to the season and playoff format: (1) Eliminate conference championship games completely (since we KNOW that the SEC and BIG 10 megaconferences are EACH likely to obtain at least 3 playoff slots [possibly more in any given season], there is NO NEED to risk additional injury within a conference to its top teams in order to get said teams to qualify for the playoffs via "conference championship games"); (2) Expand the playoff bracket to 16 teams with NO "byes" (playing Round 1 playoff games at home against a lower-seeded team is more than adequate "reward/compensation" for having the best seasons and earning top seeds); (3) Assign the present "conference championship weekend" (typically the 1st weekend of December) to the timeframe wherein "Round 1" of the National Championship Playoff Tournament takes place ... teams ranked #1-8 host the teams ranked #9-16 (i.e., #1 hosts #16, #2 hosts #15, #3 hosts #14, and so on); (4) The 8 winners of the Round 1 games advance to Round 2 (whose 4 quarterfinal games are played @ New Years' Day -- e.g., 1 or 2 on New Year's Eve, and the other remaining 1 or 2 on New Year's Day itself). ALSO, the "losers" of the Round 1 games then also become eligible for selection/invitation to participate in one of the gazillion NON-National Championship Playoff bowl games that take place during the Holiday Season IF they wish to "reward the kids" for a relatively successful season by participating in another game where they will receive some nice swag gifts. To have this bifurcated bowl system, they could also build more fan interest and anticipation (plus corporate advertiser $$$) by having TWO separate selection shows: the first would be a "Playoff Selection Show" on Sunday night at the conclusion of Thanksgiving weekend whereby the Playoff Committee announces the 16 teams eligible to compete for that season's National Championship, and then the Monday night following the Round 1 playoff games, the separate and larger Holiday Season [NON-Playoff] Bowl Selection Show airs in prime time. Meanwhile, NO college football games take place (whether playoff or non-playoff games) during the two or three weeks between the conclusion of Round 1 of the playoffs and Christmas-New Year's bowl weeks. This allows all teams to stay on equal footing whereby players get to rest up from minor injuries, bumps, & bruises while also having the time to focus on their 1st Semester final exams as student-athletes.
SMU will be the #3 or #11 seed. Boise St will be either the #3, #4, or #11 seed; OR be the 1st team out. Therefore, Alabama, South Carolina, Miami, and Old Miss are arguing about being the last team in IF both SMU and Boise State win. The total crazy is, IF they both lose, the Big 12 champion will be the #3 seed, Clemson would be the #4 seed, and UNLV will be the 12th seed.
It was and it wasn’t. The secondary gave up yards but also made great plays with coverage and batting the ball down. Then two 100 yard pick 6s make up for a lot. Surprisingly I’d probably give the defense a B+
Lastly, the other 3 teams who, like Notre Dame, have clinched a berth, but don't play next week are Ohio State, Tennessee, and Indiana. I expect it to be in that order, and they are locked in as the #8, #9, and #10 seeds. Indiana will play at Notre Dame or Georgia.
Notre Dame will be the 6th or 7th seed, depending on whether Texas loses or wins. Oregon will be #1 or #5. Texas and Penn State will be #1, #2, #5, or #6 (with Texas ahead of Penn State, if they have the same record. These 3 teams will finish #1, #2, and #5; OR they will finish #1, #5, and #6. Georgia will be #2, #6, or #7.

I TOLD EVERYONE HOW THIS SEASON WAS GOING TO BE 🔥🔥☘️☘️☘️
ND did what ND does punched USC in the mouth as usual in the trenches

That's right, Go Irish 🍀☘️🍀
Thank you Mark. Appreciate you as always. I’m sorry for your Buckeyes. Everyone hates Michigan. Go Irish ☘️
Putting a 3 loss team in just because they won a conference is bullshit
Love completely trucked ramsey earlier in the game too.
49-28 don't count that garbage BS score at the end
If ND didnt want it to count then the players should have acted like they cared enough to stop it. That TD was WAY too easy. Pathetic.

This game was closer to a 14 point game than a 21 point game
@@GMS8201 I don't have to count sht. 49-28 f usc
They did that 4 or 5 times this year.
I'll take a 14 point win over our hated rival AT the Coliseum when the playoffs were on the line. Great job ND!
LETS FUCKING GOO IRISH!!!!!!!! 11-1 BABY!!!!! Happy for Marcus Freeman and this team. Ready for more in a few weeks.
