@@rajlovinglife Yes tata had Hispano Divo, and Al had RE chassis on Cheetah however they could not maintain the feature and quality as Volvo. The major difference was the suspension which was not tuned like Volvo. and cost is approx 85 lakhs when Volvo was 90lakhs approx that time.
@@chinmaya021 true......i was wondering whether MAN and Bharat Benz will launch rear engine bus in india but they did not MAN bus only had front engine and aslo bharat benz ....also cooling in rear engine has to be tackled effectively unlike front engine bus...sometimes i see even in volvo rear engine bus boot opened slightly for cooling ...
The leopard chassis of Ashok Leyland had a rear engine, way before Volvo launched their rear engine bus, it was a good bus, LAXMI MOTORS were operating several of this buses on Mumbai to Goa route. I don't know why they discontinued this chassis, and the worst thing is that they launched their new 15 MTR chassis with front engine.😮
The bus body builders who are making copies of this iconic design of Volvo 9600 are destroying the reputation of Volvo in India.Volvo does need to put copyright strike in this bus.
