I considere giving the Q11 a try as my "makeshift" desktop Dac/Amp, but i found out that it has no passthrough option when it's connected to a laptop or other stationary device, so it always loads the battery. I thought this might be interesting to know.

SHE want's something dead simple and I want something with build quality , clarity and power for $100ish . we are ok with wires because our devices will be in our hands or pockets . this looks perfect :) . thanks and take care , jeff

I already own a Fosi DS1(my first foray into audio file territory) followed by the FIIO BTR 7. I also bought Sennhieser 660s and Focal Elegia headphones. And lastly, I have the HiBY R5G2 DAP. I like how the Q11 looks and it reminds me of the look of the more expensive IFI xDSD Gryphon that is out of my price range right now. I have also seen videos on desk top headphone amplifiers and DACs and there is so much to learn still. At this time I just wanted something portable to use with the headphones mentioned earlier that does not cost too much. Debating getting the Q11 since I have the BTR 7 which you indicated is better than the Q11 and yet I love how it looks and the price is right. You have given me something to think about. Another fantastic review! I bought this when it was first released and love it ! I got it for 79 bucks and that’s a no brainer deal…I use it almost like a portable desktop amp within my house … it’s kind of too big and clunky to take on the go easily. but I own a lot of headphones and the higher portable power is needed to drive them well.. this kind of power is not needed for iems on the balanced end… I also own btr5 and few other dongles but they don’t have the power to dr😅ive a lot of higher demand headphones well… so my use is to use for harder to drive (than iems) headphones in my home versus being tied to a desktop setup… I can sit anywhere in my home and listen to my planars without being plugged into a desktop amp that is tethered to a wall… also use it with my laptop and tablet for same headphone use
@@eeshandev5081 I can actually try I do own the 400se… the 400se are fairly tough to drive and sound much better the more power that is going through them… so ultimately I would think more power would be better … are you looking for portable amp only?

Wow just now saw this. I ordered a Moondrop Moonriver II ti back in Sept and they finally told me it was out of stock (after having told me it was shipped 3 days after I ordered it) and refunded my money, so I'm in the market for something like that with that kind of sound quality, and this sounds like it! This week is my payday so I hope they have them in stock lol I can't deal with another "we don't know when these will be in stock again" heartbreak.
Got mine new and shipped for$70 ....a no brainer for the price as it's sounds really nice, uncoloured and fit's nicely in my pocket or bag if i need it as a backup unit. Thanks for the review. Highly recommended ;)❤

i have a&k SR15 for 1 y, one day i borwor q11 from my gf FOR 1 DAY. after that I got myself a Brand new Q11, I sold my A&K SR15, more practical is Q11& I can read easily inside the window what signal coming on the input of Q11 & sound is excellent, a little warm but on the neutral side, paired with my s23 ultra nicely.
Someone else from here has dyed problems with the 11, mine updated it and it no longer works, now it is recognized as BRAVO HD FW UPDATE, someone has an idea of why this happened

this is currently $79.99. Just ordered! Also, I don't like my Hiby FC4 because it clips when I'm listening to something that does not use the Hiby app. Does this device need an app to use? or can it be used with any application without issue? Like Amazon Music? I had to get Tidal with my Hiby FC4 because that was the only streaming service the Hiby app used.
My advice for fc4 is get another USB c cable problem solve. I had similar issues ad you but I changed the cable and never happened again. Get a ddhifi cable

I bought this because my Denon ah-d5200 needs more power than my also recently bought Q3 MQA can give. I payed double the price of the Q11 while the Q3 gives 360mW and the Q11 gives 650mW. I use a 4.4 mm balanced cable. Feel like I wasted a lot of money because I bought Q3 first a couple of weeks ago and now they released the Q11. I don’t understand….😕
I had the A3, but it malfunctioned. I mostly gamed with it. I’d plug the headphones in the headphone port and plug the cord from the other port to the controller. Not sure if you can do that with this or not. Might have to get one of those splitters.
650 mW from balanced should be plenty for both of those and even the 165 mW from single ended will power them. Maybe not with the same dynamics as the balanced output but it should work okay. Thanks for watching!

They`re completely different, one is a larger dac/amp the other is a small bluetooth dongle dac/amp, they can`t be compared, that`s why you`re not finding comparisons, because they`re two very different things..

I like to listen to music at low volume before bed from my phone. With low volume they hiz and chop on and off. That is why I was thinking I need something with a volume control.
At this point ..is it not better to just get dedicated player ..like a Dap? ...what is this the advantage of this if you listen to music on the go and at work .. except carrying an extra brick in ur pocket and your phone ??
Hey man great vid. Been waiting for a nice review since its launch. A quick question- how does it compare to the iFi hipdac2. From what i understand the q11 have more power and battery. Form factor is not a issue for me. Need a dac that is atleast future proof for upto 1.5years. Hardware- IEM: 7hz salnotes zero, Truthear Zero, Kz zs10 pro, Dunu Titan S, Letshuoer s12 pro. Headphone: Sennheiser HD660S, Hifiman Sundara, Meze 99 Classics.
Oh man, I loved the hip dac 2 (never got around to reviewing though). I think it has around 400 mw power out the balanced so a little less that the Q11 but that's still plenty and the HIp DAC 2 has a Burr Brown DAC chip which was a favorite of mine for a while. I know the Hip DAC sounded great, but it's been so long since I've heard it, I couldn't say one way or the other. If I had to guess the Q11 isn't going to be much of an upgrade at all and maybe even a downgrade if you're using iems and probably headphones too.
I have an IFI hip dac 2 and an FIIO K7. I am using balanced output from both devices and in my opinion, u can't go wrong with the hip dac 2. Its analog bass boost feature is just crack. It's so good that I am thinking of selling Hip dac 2 and K7, both; and getting myself an IFI gryphon, cause most of the time I just use my portable dac. I am using Aful Performer 5, Aria, Dioko and ATH-R70X with both the Dacs and they work flawlessly. Only tracks like The Plan by Travis Scott(tenet ost) makes the ATH-R70X clip. otherwise, it works great. Go for the hip dac 2. u won't regret it. and I am sure it shall drive all your gear pretty well.
I had a hip dac2 for a while and got rid of it along with zen dac v2. Maybe it sounded good but I used it mostly with iems at office and hip dac2 hissed like a snake even in low gain. It was fun I guess but I thought it had one job and didn't do it properly. Now I bought q11 yesterday for office use after watching dave's review. He said it is silent even with andromeda. Cs43131 and cs43198 chips are probably easy to implement in mobile devices so I don't worry about distortion that much.
@@fahryst yes very true. There was noticable which did bother me... I contacted ifi about it .. they recommended changing the firmware to GTO filter. Post that the hiss reduced drastically and i still use balanced output. The power is relatively less from single ended.... One can use single ended 3.5mm connection. I talked about the ifi gryphon as it has IE match device incorporated in the unit itself for addressing this problem whereas for hip dac 2 i will have to spend another 90 USD for IE match and also carry another dongle.... So yeah.... There is noticable noise on the hip dac 2.

Good question. At risk of stating the obvious. Less expensive, higher power output. That being said, the BTR7 still has better resolution and dynamics with iems AND MY headphones Imo. Those THX amps in the BTR7 are pretty awesome. The Q11 is a great option if you're on a tight budget. Thanks for checking out the video!
Q11 and BTR7 ordered at the same time - BTR7 recognized by all my devices, Q11 by NONE! Fiio says it doesn't support below WIN10 because MS doesn't provide drivers. HA! BTR7 works fine tho... lazy.
im still not sure why i should waste 100$ for something my phone does just fine, my daily driver is the Raptgo Hook-x and my phone has no problems driving them whatsoever

This is definitely plenty powerful enough for the IE200. Basically any dongle dac should be powerful enough too

Since the q11 can be used as an amplifier, have you ever tried pairing it with the hiby fc6 or aune yuki to see how it changes sound quality?

On point. There are plenty of usb dongle dac to drive IEMs.but who knows if anyone wants to pair an Hifiman 300 ohm headphone with this Q11?

Q11 and BTR7 ordered at the same time - BTR7 recognized by all my devices, Q11 by NONE! Fiio says it doesn't support below WIN10 because MS doesn't provide drivers. HA! BTR7 works fine tho... lazy.

im still not sure why i should waste 100$ for something my phone does just fine, my daily driver is the Raptgo Hook-x and my phone has no problems driving them whatsoever
So it is not for you, duh.
Some gears play nicer or at higher volume with external amps. But, OBVIOUSLY, only when you need one you buy one.
My cell phone, galaxy note 10, barely pushes my hifiman sundaras, at max volume its pretty quiet...so this is something i would use
