    Watching the lich events really makes me want to go for a full evil lich run. XD

      It is very cool and thematic :D Definitely recommend, as long as you don't feel bad about being evil.

      I keep wanting to do a "classic" good angel run first. But who am I kidding, I'm never going to finish any runs of this game hahaha

      Lol I mean, game breaking crashes is one thing but I see you clearly love to just restart over and over again :p
      You should at least commit to one playthrough to see the whole game, it's worth it

    • @SilverkissYoutube
      @SilverkissYoutube 11 дней назад

      That is true, but I was doing that and the game started crashing often again, it's almost like it knows.
      I might look into getting a new computer soonish, and if/when that happens hopefully I won't have to deal with crashes anymore.... :(

    When I played lich, I had the skeletons and zombies in my main army to avoid having to constantly move them around. In terms of crusade management lich made me feel the most powerful mainly because of those units.

    • @CoredumpedGaming
      @CoredumpedGaming  11 дней назад

      Yep, that is definitely the easiest way to manage them. I may end up doing just that once I feel the numbers justify it.
      And I agree that especially later, the armies can become very very powerful because of our undead friends :D

    I have this on in the background so dont always pick up on everything. Just noticed the reference to the First Law.

    There is a even worse ambush with a floating rotten ball with crazy stats and a lot of succubi archers, got that on my way to the hag quest. It was in core, imagine it on unfair... By the way you can see in the management screen wich type of decree you are running by the icon on the card showing hands for diplomacy in this case.

    • @CoredumpedGaming
      @CoredumpedGaming  12 дней назад +1

      Yeah, certain ambushes I just don't really understood how they were balanced. You pretty much beat the initiative for some kind of chance or you're generally screwed :/

      @Mike-r4h 12 дней назад

      @@CoredumpedGaming Yeah, tell me about it. I used to overlook the initiative feats because they were not sexy enough. But it turns out, they have become a necessity for me. No more standing around doing nothing in RTWP, and no more having six demon lords whooping your butt before you have a chance to do anything in Turn based.😁. I at least give someone in the party the Inspirational leader mythic feat, it makes a huge difference at late game.

      @@CoredumpedGaming balanced around save/load I guess?

    • @CoredumpedGaming
      @CoredumpedGaming  11 дней назад +1

      Initiative is definitely a useful thing to have, especially on spellcasters in my opinion, though it is more turn based oriented in my opinion.
      It can still be very good in rtwp, but since usually you can open with charges, it's not as crucial. For spellcasters it is always good though, nothing beats having your control caster cast a very disabling spell before the enemy can act

    • @CoredumpedGaming
      @CoredumpedGaming  11 дней назад +1

      Maybe lol not my preferred approach :p

    Be glad about the added army units you get as a lich. Management may be a chore, but at least you don't have a gazillion different unit types you have to spread over several armies. You can combine yours any way you want. Also, that was a nasty ambush. I've never seen its like. Can it be that you get harder ambushes on higher difficulty levels? I've never played on higher than Core. Also I agree that this design is questionable. It should be the important fights that are hard, not the random ones.
    Edit: the symbols on the cards tell you their domain: the crown is leadership, the handshake is diplomacy, the swords are military and the coordinates with the arrow and the X are logistics. For active decrees, you see the symbols in the overview when you select the decrees tab, but not in the detail view.

      Oh for sure, the lich army units are very welcomed, especially later on when we start getting a bunch of them. As for the ambush, I'm not sure honestly. This one felt really pushed for this stage in the game, but I've had them before on other playthroughs and they weren't as bad. Not sure if it is area related or something, but it definitely sucked.
      Also, not sure if you saw the community post but I'll be entering a rogue trader competition with other streamers to see who can go the farthest in the game in grim darkness mode, thought you might appreciate that :p just hope I don't die to the chaos spawn in the tutorial lol

      @@CoredumpedGaming Thanks for the info. I don't usually have the time to watch streams, given that I work full time, play games, read books, and do tabletop roleplaying, but maybe I'll dip into it some time.

      @CoredumpedGaming  12 дней назад

      Yeah, I know a lot of people here are like that, which I totally empathize with as I am the same lol
      The plan is to also have the recordings available as regular youtube videos for anyone wanting to check it out at their own pace.
      Also not sure if I'll even be able to start it on the starting week as things at my job are pretty stressful at the moment and have to work past my normal time :(

    How about to use a full re-spec mod for companions? So there will be no need for mercenaries.
    P.S. You can see the type of decree by the picture on the card.

    • @CoredumpedGaming
      @CoredumpedGaming  12 дней назад +2

      This is something I would definitely suggest to people who want to further customize their companions and/or do not enjoy using mercenaries. However, since this is a somewhat educational playthrough, I prefer to keep things as original as possible.

  • @Mike-r4h

    Does anybody in the party have super high stealth? I've never had a nasty ambush in multiple playthroughs, except the scripted ones. I've never actually tested playing without a max stealth character in the party, i was told when i was learning the game that it makes a huge difference in evading these encounters. Good thing too, because without this effect and the camp camouflage stealth is pretty much useless in combat.

    • @CoredumpedGaming
      @CoredumpedGaming  12 дней назад +1

      Nobody sadly. Something that I kind of overlooked in character planning and nearly paid for it dearly. Nothing will ever make me safe from rolling a 1 though ofc in any case, which is where it becomes really annoying for last azlanti playthroughs :p

    • @Mike-r4h
      @Mike-r4h 12 дней назад

      @@CoredumpedGaming Yeah, I figured from the party composition. The Skald could have been the stealth guy, but it takes a while to ramp up without a high dexterity score.
      I was surprised during my subsequent playthroughs that I got more of these ambushes. Being a Trickster with high stealth who turned all nat1s into nat20s spoiled me during my first run😁😂

    • @tranquility__
      @tranquility__ 11 дней назад +1

      You don't auto fail/succeed on a natural 1 or 20 while making skill checks. So with a high enough stealth skill, you never have to run into an ambush. Among the story companions, Aru and Woljif will ensure you are safe while travelling but you are not playing with them and have no high dex and stealth characters so travelling in this act will be quite dangerous.

    • @CoredumpedGaming
      @CoredumpedGaming  11 дней назад

      Ah ok, I normally get those things confused in my head. Saving throws you can always fail on a nat 1 but skill checks nat 1 doesn't matter as long as you beat the DC. Thanks for reminding me of this.
      In hindsight I should have probably made Camellia my stealth character and just have others cover perception maybe. I wasn't really planning on keeping Camellia with me for very long, but things have changed in that regard and she will likely stay for a bit :p I shall have to live with the consequences of my poor planning xD

    • @tranquility__
      @tranquility__ 11 дней назад

      That is correct. Its easy to get confused when there are so many different mechanics in the game haha. I have the same experience with Camellia quite often. She is helpful, is she not? :p
