Its difficult to describe what it is like to go from a console that could only handle a couple polygons to a console that could display the threads on marios jeans and on top of that offer a game that let you play as a video game villain (first time we ever got to play as Bowser or Ganondorf) and a handful of famous nintendo reps all in on game. This game really was amazing and the timing of its release was perfect.

As a child I never really realized how good music this game has and how well made it is. I'm so happy I randomly remembered this game now many years later and found this video, cause now I can finally sit back and truly enjoy this awesome music. So nostalgic, love it
I think it's even better than the PS controller! I have no idea why Nintendo seems determined to phase it out. It should be an option on every console they release forever!
The N64 is one of the worst controllers ever made and the Gamecube didn't change how controllers were made. If Xbox one and & PS4 took from the Gamecube controller it would have differently sized buttons and octagonal stick Gates. Controllers have been more rounded and fitted since SNES days.
I loved this soundtrack growing up playing the hell out of this game. 18 years later, I now use this for my workout/training music while at the gym for a couple of hours. There's certain songs like Captain Falcon that just kicked ass, and makes you want to get that extra rep on the bench press, or run that extra mile.
Why is donkey kong the only character to get absolutely shit on in the intro lmao. It's just his body convulsing while being hit by a shadowball that last for all eternity.

They're all amazing, but the song for the temple stage is definitely one of my favorites. Lol, I have bad memories of the brinstar theme though, because my character was always getting burnt in that stage.
Best era for Nintendo period every game that they made on the GameCube had so much love and care put into them. They really cared about their games. The games were so unique compared to later entries such as wind waker, double dash, wario world, Mario Sunshine, and many more.
The best thing about this soundtrack is they did not have the option to grab a giant collection of songs from each game's music library. They had to pick specific songs to remix that would capture the essence of the entire franchise the song was representing. And pretty much every song choice does that with flying colors. I love that we have a giant soundtrack in Smash these days. But such limitations are what made these songs so great!
I love how well orchestrated this one's soundtrack is. With each Smash Bros. game afterward, they just resorted to copying the songs directly from the games they're from instead of giving them this awesome remixing touch.
Umm, no they didn't. Brawl had an _excess_ of new arrangements, and 4 and Ultimate didn't do bad either. They included ripped tracks just to pad things out a bit.

One of the best game soundtracks ever.
Imagine how much nostalgia super smash bris ultimate is gonna give us in a 10 or 15 years
Tears in my eyes
1:12:50 nice little easter egg. I like that.
What a fun, nostalgic soundtrack!
2:34:48 So beautiful and dreamy.
Agreed. I would often listen to the trophy theme as a kid while playing Melee.
GameCube era is pure nostalgia for me. Good times.
Best era for Nintendo period every game that they made on the GameCube had so much love and care put into them. They really cared about their games. The games were so unique compared to later entries such as wind waker, double dash, wario world, Mario Sunshine, and many more.
The greatest OST of all times.
Super Mario Bros 3 is legendary 1:36:40
Memories...coming flooding back. Now I'm ready for Super. Smash. Brothers...ULTIMATE!
one of the greatest games ever made. .
Yeah, I agree
The best thing about this soundtrack is they did not have the option to grab a giant collection of songs from each game's music library. They had to pick specific songs to remix that would capture the essence of the entire franchise the song was representing. And pretty much every song choice does that with flying colors.
I love that we have a giant soundtrack in Smash these days. But such limitations are what made these songs so great!
I chopped up a bunch of my fav tracks and saved them, thank you :)
My parents buying this for my older brother 20 something years ago not realising it was about to change my life
There should not be ads on music you don't own. No wonder youtube always takes these soundtracks down.
the only thing i remember this game for was fox's HAAAAYYYAAAAA
Ike: OYA
Thank you for the WAVs
The nostalgia. I've just sat and sobbed listening to this.
i cant believe they made this amount of content in just 13 months! holy crap
4:20 Sounds just like Slider from SM64. But with different instruments.
4:20 blaze it
Because it is a remix
Listening to this takes me back to simpler times.
This is so nostalgic to me its the only super smash I've ever played
Its also the best one
This game is almost 21 years old now
1:44:31 opened my eyes to the franchise
Yeah because Japan never released them in America until after this game
Awesome soundtrack and upload this =)
YOOOOOOOOOOO THE WAVES ON THE LOGO IN THE CORNER MOVE WITH THE BASS
This is top tier gamecube era game AND ost. a hidden gem
nice songs
best game ever made
Super Smash Bros Melee = Best super smash bros ever.
I think all Super Smash Bros games should have a story mode, like in melee
Best OST of Smash Bros series...
Lol fountain of dreams have music? I think the only sound in this stage was the fox screams
Sebastian Estrada I think you're thinking of Final Destination
Why am I crying 😭😭😭
I love how well orchestrated this one's soundtrack is. With each Smash Bros. game afterward, they just resorted to copying the songs directly from the games they're from instead of giving them this awesome remixing touch.
Umm, no they didn't.
Brawl had an _excess_ of new arrangements, and 4 and Ultimate didn't do bad either. They included ripped tracks just to pad things out a bit.
All the remixes are quality except the DK64 rap. You can't one-up the original.
imo this is the best version
Understandable. I just like the original more.
the original is invincible xD
For me this rap was the first time that I ever heard it as a kid, so naturally I prefer it to the original.
SBM That and the original is just kinda' meme material. Other than for nostalgia reasons, the original is famed for being comically *bad.* XD
2:41:59 That was used in the Special Movie in the Bonus menu.
