    Amazing ride right there! Even the Long Beach branch seems to have better infrastructure then the Main Line with those metal poles between Island Park & Oceanside, and the wood ones don't look bad either. The Atlantic Branch seems faster between Valley & Jamaica than the Montauk/Babylon routing, but there were three eastbound Babylon Branch trains in a row that passed you. Looks like alot of people heading to the City.

    I was on this line years ago on an MP-54. I recall the old drawbridge was an A frame affair and was single track as well as the present bridge. I was also on an ERA fan trip using brand new M-1's and got photos of the old drawbridge during a photo run by.

    Yet another fine, first-class realistic LIRR video! Love it! Have you ever considered filming the LIRR from KO to GY on the main line? I used to ride this over 50 years ago; I remember the little brick station at KO, and the train stopping at Peconic (NC). Keep up the great work, you are preserving the ROW for future generations.

    One word: BRILLIANT!
    I JUST subscribed as I found the 1st video that I watched nothing short of spectacular. Speaking of M3's, as a model railroading enthusiast I'm disappointed that no one saw fit to make an HO-scale model of the M3 and M7 (the M7 is available in O-scale from Lionel). My meager efforts to convince Atlas Trains and Rapido to consider it have failed. Great video!

      Thanks John, I have the tendency to stay away from brass $$$$$$$$$$ then having to add the chassis, trucks/wheels, motor, possible interior and that raises the cost through the stratosphere, so no thanks to brass but thanks to you for your input. Island Modelworks in New York on Long Island offers shells made in Resin of the M7 & M8, the M3's are out of stock if not production if memory serves me. I'm considering the M7/M8.

    Congrats on getting this footage. I heard the M9s are gonna be in service I think by the end of this month. I wonder if I got a good chance of getting an M3 to Long Beach from Jamaica during rush hour. I was told by a conductor filming is now prohibited cause of security reasons today when I wanted too. I want to verify from ones that let me before, cause I think I'm being lied to.

    So most of the positional signals are dark except for one with as "approach slow" aspect. Is the LIRR doing away with PRR style signals?. Weren't those signals needed? Some of the signal gantries have no signals at all.

    There were plans in the 1970s and 80s to have the subway take over the LIRR from Jamaica (specifically around South Road, where the Queens High School for Sciences is) to Laurelton or Springfield Blvd. It would have been interesting to ride the E train and look out an R32/42 RFW.

    • @rgalesnyc
      @rgalesnyc 5 лет назад

      @Ali Muhammad 1. I also PAY $127 a month for 6 station trip to Manhattan. Somehow your traveling 3x times the distance for the same subsidized price again a great deal. Yes, the (A) to Lefferts might come more often during rush due to the quick turn around to cover Fulton and 8th ave segments of the line. The Far Rockway segment is a 10 Mile branch off to put that in perspective that's roughly the length of the (7) or the (L) lines by there itself. It's quite an offset as far as coverage on the Manhattan trunk. Plus at Rush you 4-5 trains that cover the Rockway Park segment. The South Channel Bridge is run by the coast guard while they do have a agreement during rush hours it's out of the MTA's hands for the most part. LIRR have the guidelines off the Long Beach line.. Okay Second the AD displays are covered by ad companies and not the MTA plus they make money in ad rev. 3. The new R211's will have cameras. 4. There working on CBTC and UWB so new signaling. 5. MTA police are covering more stations as of this month. Are we missing any other points on your end? Maybe try the LIRR from Far Rockway whats the monthly on that?
