I find it funny that we now do whatever we can so we can get out of watching commercials now...but here we are watching commercials. Just shows how downhill commercials have gotten...they are not enjoyable like these are. I have been a watcher for a long time and I love going back and watching them all over again. Thank you for these.

Love these Saturday Morning commercials! The Hi-C jingle brings back fond 80s memories. Thanks.

Big League Chew....reminds me of those candy cigarettes they used to sell in the store when I was a kid.
Never looked at Alvin and the Chipmunks cause I was eager to look at Spiderman and his Amazing Friends.
Nerd guy...wow have times changed. Now it is cool to be a nerd but for years you were an outcast for being one. Now these schools need the nerds cause they raise the test average of the school and the teachers keep their jobs.
Thank you for posting this...you are awesome.

I've said this before...but this might be the most truly 80's volume on here.
    Mr. T...Check!
Star Wars toys...Check! (I had those speeder bikes, and got Jabba the Hutt for Christmas 1983)
McDonalds...Check! (That commercial has been in my head forever, we could never do the 'moonwalk' that guy did!)
And that Hi-C commercial. Every time I hear 'shooby doo wah' I hear 'Hiiiii-ceeee' afterward.

The voice over in the Slam Shifters ad did the voiceovers for DATSUN back in the day! There's a Datsun in this ad!
The Nerdrage IS strong in the Star Wars ad! OUTRAGE!

I have a feeling that's not the dad in the Go Bots commercial, but just the lonely guy down the street

  • @SupesMe

Great Video. You know what Sucks for the Go Bots? they were around first, Before the transformers....and nobody cares. No Film Franchise for them :(

      @80sCommercialVault  7 лет назад +3

The Japanese Transforming toys made by Takara that the American Transformers line were based on came out first. The Go Bots have always been Transformer knock offs, Tonka just beat Hasbro to the punch in releasing them here.

Don't quote me, but I think the reason they still make Big League Chew is that it actually became popular with ball players, and many of them would start chewing it to give up their dip habit.

  • @JohnnyUtah15

Pretty cool to see what my younger cousins were watching and wondering what the hell they were non-stop badgering about it to my aunts, lol!
The only ones I can recall are "One To Grow On", Big League Chew, and possibly Jell-O Pudding pops, although, probably not this one; most likely with Bill Cosby. I was 16 at this time so cartoons weren't on my Saturday schedule. My dad had my brother and I working our asses off!

The Donkey Kong Jr. cereal wasn't nothing to write home about. It tasted like a wanna be Trix. I remember my grandma buying it for me a few times, because I had the video game. The Donkey Kong cereal wasn't bad though, and was rather good. They were pretty much barrel shaped capn crunch.

Funny thing about Big League Chew. Many MLB players at the time were actually using it to wean themselves off of chewing tobacco.

My favorite is the toons from 1988-1996, also including two that I also liked started around 1986 (Care bears, MLP Gen.1), I did see them because they were still around when I was young (I was born in the 90s)
Gen.1 MLP inspired me to be a brony with Gen.4!

So did kids watch The A-Team or something? Or was Mister T on at the same time as that series? I'm not sure if we even have an equivalent to that cartoon series today (or even back in the 90's).
