I had to do something like this for a UCS Imperial Shuttle which is 90% white bricks and a UCS AT-ST. Thankfully the shuttle had no yellowing and just needed a clean with Oxy powder. The AT-ST had some discoloured parts which I was able to reverse by putting them in a 3% Hydrogen Peroxide solution and leave out in the sun for a few hours.
This is an amazing crosslink / mashup of one of my favorite hobbies and one of my favorite bands. Ofcourse the stuff from the Netherlands arrived first, but they were lazy and didn't clean the LEGO properly. If you want to remove discoloration, putting it into the sun in Hydrogen Peroxide works wonders, just keep them properly submerged.
that's awesome man. I had this set when I was a kid too. I loved the old space days with the neon clear pieces. I also loved the snow planet stuff with the neon orange visors, skis and saw blades.
There’s a lot of talk about bringing back classic space and blacktron series - there’s even petitions! I’d be stoked with that and it would be cheaper than all the licensed stuff.
@@twelvefootninja agreed. while I like some of the licensed stuff, I miss the pure LEGO creativity of the old sets. I dreamed of being a LEGO builder when I grew up, but now I can't imagine trying to design a set but being locked in to just replicating movie scenes rather than building on to the LEGO universe. I do really hope they embrace VR at some point though. They really need to before someone else. Being able to scale down and build something with y our "hands" and then instantly scale it up and walk around in it would be amazing.
This set looks awesome, I'm a bit older so I don't remember this line of Blacktron, but the huge wheels and bright neon transparant pieces make it pop for sure. Recently in 2023, there was a remake of a classic Blacktron ship I had, available in stores. It isn't quite the same, but it has the same vibe as the old set. You could say it was slightly upgraded and refitted with modern pieces and design philosophy. As a fan of Castle LEGO, it is great to see them go back to that side too, with modern, extremely pricey but well designed sets.
Awesome video. Thanks for letting us know about those sites. As soon as I saw that fluorescent green window piece I knew exactly what you were trying to build. I still have the completed Spectral Starguider in a box somewhere with all my other Legos from my childhood. I'm 34 years old but I'll play with Legos ANY day!!
even though I dind't build that much with lego as a child, I quit enjoyed watching this video. My brother and his friend where lego manics though. They build a whole city DIY style. Pretty impressive.
This is really amazing to see! I’m a huge collector of 80s/90s toys, and I know that feeling of trying to recapture your youth in a physical form. I’ve since gone a little overboard, but I love it! What other toylines do you collect, if any? I mainly collect Masters of the Universe, Ghostbusters, TMNT, Pac-Man, NES, and some stuff from M.U.S.C.L.E., Rock Lords, Thundercats, etc.
There's more to that trick - I've heard that the Vanish powder on its own is not as good as it's with peroxide - you dunk the pieces in actual peroxide - the stronger the better - and then put in a spoon or two of Vanish on top of that, as that will catalyze the reaction. Then leave out in the sun like you did. Apparently does the trick in as little as two or three hours. But you can leave it in for longer and you should achieve peak whiteness
GAH this makes me really wish I didn't sell all of my legos. I had pounds upon pounds, full sets (like a star wars ATAT!) and real vintage shit and I didn't even make what I should have off of the sale. It went somewhere good, like a daycare or something. But damn I would love picking up those classic ninja sets now that I'm having a nerd stroke
Did you miss the Hydrogen Peroxide stage? Vanish on its own will only do half the job. Cheap salon products work well because they wont make the plastic brittle. Great for old computers etc that go yellow.
I love the idea that someone’s going to stumble across 12 foot ninja while looking for tips on restoring Lego
basically
Like me. 😂😂😅
This is exactly how I got here.
Aye, this Lego restoration video has by far the best music.
Stevic: hey guys we haven't uploaded to RUclips in a while, can I upload this?
Rest of TFN: yeah sure, whatever
What a busy little beaver
Id honestly love to see more videos about everyone in TFN's whacky hobbies. Loved the video, Stevic
Busier than a Nerd having a nerd stroke trying to clean his Lego bricks.
have you been busy????
Busier than a cat
HILARIOUS AND ORIGINAL.
I've been busier then a cat burying shit
Idk My name nah mate you haven't been busy at all
Josh Marquez he has been a busy little beaver
Jeez, those Legos are older than me. And in better shape.
You've been busier than a cat burying shit on...
Legos?
This is pretty metal
Oh man this was this was random but I love LEGO, quality content right here
What the fuck did I just watch: mid life crisis feat. clean freak with some funky tunes in the background. Thanks for the unique experience :)

ok, that was unexpected. Liked it tho.

Have you messed around with Lego Digital Designer? It's similar to what you're describing.

Stevic lego will always be fuckin awesome no matter how old a boy gets

Make a djent machine out of the legos
Bringing back some memories here. Definitely had this set as a kid.
Very surreal, but insanely satisfying... Someone's been a busy little beaver! Series?

You're a bad ass Stevic. This is weird as fuck, but keep at it man.
And the 2x4 bricks with airplane Windows go to:
Blue: set 657
White: 698, 1552
Your dog is ridiculously adorable. :)

Can we get instrumental on itunes? Pretty please?
Эпафий Дзендрогак +1
And 0:27 that stove is from the sets: 232, 261,263,269
Lol, you guys should just become a toy restoration channel with new music sprinkled in occasionally! I would 100% be down!
I agree, but do keep the music in the background like with this video. It makes the lego stuff feel even more badass than it already is.
That's about the most productive stroke I've ever seen...
You should've contact HowToBasic about restoring these sets.
Actually a very entertaining video
Also a comment about being busy, in case no one else said it.

Yeah that’s a good tip! I’ve heard it’s a superior method. I’ll do this when/if they yellow up again.
lego is an itch i gotta scratch from time to time. it's just in my blood
Good Gravy, you've been busy!
Omg Stevic I love you even more and I didn't even know I was capable of that.
I use hydrogen proxide and a very bright light bulb. I live in an apartment there is no back yard and you can't trust people not to steal them.
I knew subscribing was a good idea
Came for the music, stayed for the restoration video!

I'm buying a Lego set today Stevic.

Great video, but i want to see more of that doggo
And set 619 race car from 1977
Does Stevic even have a life outside of TFN?
did he forget he was in a band
This explains a lot
Could you show me how to remove that small two stud thin piece that always gets stuck in the middle of the bigger thin piece
Intelkek I use one of these: shop.lego.com/en-AU/Brick-Separator-630
Any new tunes coming soon?
legos are cool as fuck no matter what anyone says
FUCK YEAH!
I got like 10,000 pieces and whenever nostalgia kicks in I sit the fuck down and play with them like a grown ass man. Kick ass way to pass the time.
