What really bothers me is that I’m a U.K. citizen from birth, and when I want to get married to someone (from another country) in my hometown with no intention of her staying in the U.K. I get harassed beyond belief. We have a mountain of evidence that shows we don’t want to live there, children in other countries, homes in other countries etc. I simply wanted to get married in the same church as my parents, grandparents, great grandparents etc going back centuries. Yet people who are not originally from the U.K. seem to get away with everything!
I'm sorry you and your family have to go through that. It sounds incredibly stressful and life has enough trials and obstacles to work through all on its own. Try your best to be stronger than the storm. It'll pass. Unfortunately, the amount of people coming from every corner of the world attempting to enter the UK illegally is astronomically greater than the manpower and resources available to handle it. Most willing to take whatever drastic means necessary to get there, lying, impersonating genuine citizens, forging or stealing documents/passports makes the task of identifying genuine citizens and those on a proper visa near impossible in most cases... or it takes months/years in others. I immigrated into the EU to be with my EU wife. We made very sure that everything was done legally and watertight, even going the same to bring my car and cat here. Yes they were long complex processes and costly too but now I have assured residency (but not citizenship as I remain loyal to my own nationality) for five years and at the end of that permanent residency if I have behaved myself. I have peace of mind and do not need to always be looking over my shoulder.

I'm not sure I understand how it works? Do you approve the application before the wedding or after the signed certificate is recorded? In the US, some people make signing of the certificate part of the ceremony, some people do the signing at city hall the day before the wedding ceremony. But I'm not sure when the government/state actually decides if the marriage is legal?

I am more likely to believe the Jamaican guy genuinely was in a loving relationship, but he still violated immigration law. I didn't believe the guy from Pakistan was genuine somehow. .It seemed odd his story about meeting her at some market, and he felt he had to talk to the woman.
Theres lot to unpack here. He is said to be Pakistani, but was deported to Dhaka. His accent gives it 100% that he is from bangladesh, his grammatical mistakes also show same, Pakistanis and and North Indians make different grammatical mistake because of their similar linguistuc culture, his english accent shows that he learned english either in Bangladesh or westbengal in India. This means he also forged a Pakistani passport, to get around his blacklisted immigration history. Secondly the officers said they want to investigate sham marriage, this was defintely a sham marriage, the girl is an adult, not a child that she is clueless!! She should have been atleast fined if not arrested. She is not a victim , she is making money...
