This should have been titled better. The title sounds all wrong and does not represent who God really is. It just sounds like if you don’t choose to serve or live for God, he will punish you. When really it is sin that destroys us and God is trying to save us for it.
This is because many within the leadership of the Seventh-Day Adventist Church has taken a punitive, punishing god who if you accept the legal payment provided by His Son He will not rightly punish you.
Our church continues to deliver a dead, death-delivering gospel that has a form of godliness but denies the power thereof.
That is because Luther still instinctively believed in the punishing, punitive god constructs that the Roman church infected Christianity with.
That in order for God to be just must inflict punishment on lawbreakers but don't worry-accept the legal payment made to your registry in heaven and you can ‘be _declared righteous even though you are not.’_
2 Corinthians 5:21 says He who knew no sin became sin (took upon Himself for eternity our humanity) in order that we might *become the righteousness of God.*
There is also a punishment aspect in Gods character. He is extremely patient and merciful so if it comes to that we know that He is just to do so.
Romans 6:23
For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.
