- In this 3ABN-produced program, Pastor James Rafferty presents the first of a series that unpacks one of the most challenging chapters of Bible prophecy, Daniel 11. Who are the king of the north and the king of the south? Who or what is the earthly power that wars against God’s everlasting holy covenant? Pastor Rafferty explains two keys to understanding this important chapter: 1) comprehension of God’s promised blessings in the renewal of His holy covenant for New Testament Christians; and 2) application of the interpretative principle of “repeat and enlarge” that identifies kingdom powers in agreement with historical evidence. Why is it important to understand the end-time prophetic scenario of Daniel 11? According to Revelation 13, history will repeat itself. The same shift in political alliance will happen again just before the return of Christ, when the majority of the world rejects the King of heaven and accepts an earthly king of pagan Rome.

While I had some knowledge about Daniel 11, I learned much in this talk.
Thank you for defining the difference between God’s moral law (10 Commandments) and ceremonial law (law of Moses), because many Christians lump these together and say they’re all nailed to the cross. But God doesn’t change, His character and His law are always important. As you say, we’re not saved by keeping the law, but if we love Jesus we’ll keep His commandments.

Every “Church” organization- believes itself to be HOLY!! Every church group believes that “they” are most right!
We can believe anything we want, but the most important thing is to believe the truth and the truth is in His word. It should never be about us, but about God and what pleases Him. It is never left up to us to figure it out, because God is too wise for that.
Janie, that is not correct! God has given us free will to chose! You either choose God and His truth or you don’t and then you WILL face God’s wrath in the end! I pray that you accept the truth!
Only God is holy, and any church that claims to be holy is in danger of falling to pride. We have to follow God’s Word, not a church. Attend church, yes. Participate and let God use us in a church, yes. But only follow God. As one evangelist said “Christians are just beggars showing other beggars where to find the bread.”

Who is right and who is wrong is proven by Isa 8:20, “To the LAW and to the testimony: if they speak not according to this word, it is because there is no light in them”. Not speaking to own interpretation and/or tradition. His Word and His Law.

I believe Hebrews 8:10-12 is a prophetic promise that includes the first resurrection. Verse 11 is talking about the time when the saints will be in the kingdom. Matthew 28:19,20 the great commission goes on until the close of probation so Hebrews 8:11 must be talking about after the first resurrection.

Dan11:40-45 seems to have a perfect fit for when Satan counterfeits Jesus second coming ...defeats king of the south (atheism) and make away many just prior to close of probation? Dan12

Does the book "Daniel and the Revelation: The Response of History to the Voice of Prophecy"- Review and Herald Publishing Company, 1987, still reccommended? For me the commentary on this book isn't accurate regarding Dan. chapter 11:45.

We need to understand who the king of the north (the Papacy) and the king of the south (Atheism) is, because many are teaching a different chain of prophecy in Daniel 11, then what is found in chapters 2, 7, and 8.
