That dress with that veil is EVERYTHING!! I have loved the Addams Family since I can remember.&this series has NOT disappointed 🙌🏼🖤 But now I wanna learn the cello… I don’t think my husband will appreciate that ….
I’ve been playing the cello for 3 years and I love it! Do what makes you happy and just remember that an most instruments don’t give you instant gratification. It’ll always sound bad before it sounds good and that’s just the reality of playing an instrument! If you have questions you can reply to me if you want :)
@@honeybloom8533 Have been thinking of learning the cello for a while now… Does it have any solo potential or just supporting other instruments with it’s bass?
@@olliecryer2002The cello has incredible solo potential. Supporting roles in an orchestra tend to be certain groups of violins, violas, and double-basses. Though the 1st violin tends to have the most solo parts, the cellos are the next most "heard" bit of an orchestra. As an ex-cellist (mine broke, may it rest in peace), I would certainly recommend learning it!
I never heard of Jenna before seeing her do Wednesday Adams. But she didn’t just do a good job on her portrayal of this character she was legendary at it. She smashed it. She did the character justice.
Jenna seriously gave me the inspiration to continue playing the cello despite the fact that I’d failed the past few assignments for school but watching her as Wednesday playing the cello was just.. inspiring!
I'm impressed by her dedication, not only did she learn Cello, she learned fencing and German as well, it would've been a lot simpler and easier for her to just not bother and have it all faked or done by other people but she went out of her way to do as much of it herself as possible, by her own account doing over 12 hour days with little to no breaks. That level of commitment is why her character is so great, she really has a passion and love for her work and that comes through so well even in interviews.
Why does it matter if she did or did not play cello. She executed the character well and learned to play the cello well enough to give us the impression that her CHARACTER was playing the cello. That is was we call: ✨acting✨
I’m so happy that a really well known actress plays the cello bc I have been playing it for 5 years and no one ever knew what it was so having someone so amazing like Jenna playing it makes me so so so happy 🥹🥹🥹🥹
Imagine how short these videos would be if they were just like “Did Wednesdays Jenna Ortega really play the cello? Yes, she did”. And then that was it😂
@@amaryahpoeder2805 No she didn't. She learned how to ACT like she was playing (and did a good job of it). There's is exactly 0% chance ANYONE can learn to play what was played in the show at the level it was played at... even if they dedicated all of their time for 2 months (which she couldn't because she was obviously learning how to act like she was doing other stuff). I'm willing to bet without a track, her playing sounded like shit (which is fine because she's an actress, not a professional cellist).
Wednesday is a queen and good at acting she is so beautiful and cute she played in so much series shows and movies and she even played in scream so y'all can shut up trying to accuse a beautiful girl like her
The cello professor at my university actually gave her lessons in preparation for her role, he said that she practiced a lot, was really dedicated, and continued to take lessons after working with him.
the cello is no joke, not an easy instrument to play at all... so it was obvious that she was not playing that incredibly hard piece that was in the film, but you could tell that she had at least a basic understanding of the instrument and how to hold it and basic fingering and bow work.
Ive been learning the cello for the past few years however im quitting soon as i learn it in school and my cello teacher is rather horrible towards me and for some reason its just me
Playing cello isn't easy this is my 3rd year playing and I've been invited to music excellence programs but it's really hard I absolutely loved this scene in Wednesday can't wait to play Paint it black😁
Definitely dubbed. It takes years to reach that level. But she does the part pretty convincingly. I've played the cello for many years now and it's by far my favorite instrument. But it's sooooo hard to learn.
She was actually playing the cello because me and my dad were watching it and he’s like she’s not playing the cello you know and I was like yeah she is and he was like I used to play the cello and that’s the wrong finger moment but still her position is so good he said
Please if anyone knows answer this, did they spray paint a cello or did they get a carbon cello? I’m curious to know if they wrecked a cello or used a carbon one, im guessing bow was carbon with I bleached black hair but the cello seems a bit wood like, I don’t see the carbon
It’s cool to know she actually started to learn, but I knew that when I had seen the music sheet in front of her that it was NOT what was playing on screen.
So the answer is that she trained so the video would not look like a fumbling beginner, but the audio was provided by a professional cellist. If you look at the endings of her 2 cello piece it is clear that the person playing is not producing the audio heard.
I thought they couldn't have picked a better actress to represent the character Wednesday , i felt she did a fantastic job in the iconic role in a classic hit. I wish Disney followed in the same footsteps in the new Snow White movie with Rachel Zegler. Instead my opinion that they took an opposite path that ruined a true classic like the Adams Family.
As someone who has been playing the cello for quite a while I would say she did to a certain degree. Of course 2 months isn’t enough time to be very good but if it’s for a role she might have prioritized the basics and making sure her posture was good because her bow hold is correct, she’s got good posture, her fingers on the strings are rounded. You can’t really expect someone to master a whole instrument within a certain time frame and technically you don’t need to learn how to play an instrument for the role but you just need to do enough research to get it accurate. I appreciate her for doing her research and learning the cello!
@@honeybloom8533 Learning how to hold the bow and posture is the least anyone could do, nothing to be impressed by. Thats like saying "I learned to fake type on a keyboard". 👁👄👁
The scene where she played in the president event was really obviously false though. They used a sound with multiple instruments for a single cello. If they only hadn’t done that I’d have been 1000/10 better
even for someone who has played for 10+ years, i took a try at that sheet music and i had a horrible time trying to learn that. I dont expect her to be able to play that piece but i have no doubt that with her higher maturity than a 5 year old me, she could learn to get a beautiful sound easily.
Jenna ortega is so very beautifulas wednesday addams she has the most beautiful silmes and she the most gorgeous silmes and she amazing job at playing the celo. 💕💕💕💕💕💕💕💕💕💕
she learned cello for 2 months to make it look as if she played paint it black. the song is musically impossible and more than likely AI generated as multiple people have had to tweak the song to be able to play it due to a few arpeggios being as i said, musically impossible.
I'd be super willing to learn an instrument if a studio was paying for it and I'd get to star in a viral series. Celebrities aren't normal people, we shouldn't look up to them for shit like this
She took lessons for two months so she knew the basics. This was so she could LOOK like she was playing. Winter and paint it black take YEARS to be able to play. Some parts in paint it black are also impossible
