I performed in a show in the circus in the mid 80’s. Getting to go behind the scenes and the structure was amazing as a kid with all the little passage ways and stairs to all sorts of hidden places!
Sorry, it was one of my first fact videos.. You can pause it though if it moves too fast. If I do another one I'll be sure to make the text move more slowly.
One episode of Dick Barton Special Agent was filmed on the Tower. Some of a chase, climbing on the iron work, may have been back projection but it looked real.
@@Lyca31 It was shown at the ABC Minors on a Saturday along with Hopalong Cassidy, who came to Blackpool with his white horse from US, Flash Gordon and several others....around 1950s.
Its interesting to note that is is not the original tower and it seems the ballroom is also not original, so it was rebuilt in 1924 making it 95 years old.. Cool:)
@@deathbyteacup Thanksfor the info, If it was completely torn down then rebuit id say its not the origonal tower but if it was rebuilt as it stood then yes there's an argument to say its origonal (kind of) :)
I COULDNT FIND THE KING KONG UP THE SIDE OF THE TOWER ...I TRIED RUclips AND GOOGLE AND NOTHING.MAYBE THAT SO CALLED FACT IS WRONG.CAN ANYONE ENLIGHTEN ME?
I don't have any pictures, but I remember it. It was inflatable and stood on the base of the Tower, just on top of the building facing the sea. There are pictures of it. I've seen them on the Blackpool Facebook groups. If you're in any of those groups just ask and someone will direct you to a picture or post one.
thank you for your reply ,I eventually found pics of it ,sat at the base of the tower with a giant tea pot, thankyou again I live in blackpool that is why I was so interested.x@@Lyca31

I remember the gold. I also remember the giant inflatable King Kong too.
But it was a Yorkshire company that did the painting - !

I didn't know that. If it looked real back then, it probably was. I've never seen that show. I guess there are a lot of things filmed on the Tower.

a lot of things seem to catch fire in Blackpool dont they
Yes. I wonder how the R.H.O. Hills fire started? They had a lift operated by a man. I bought a few things there.
Yes
love it
Nice
Interesting.
i live close to the tower, visit 1-4 times a year
It should probably stop swaying and stand still. Buildings are meant to stand still.

Sort of. It was rebuilt as it stood, one bit at a time. I guess it's like Trigger with his boom heads and handles.
