I ignore... listening RAP ???
The best guitarist after Hamk Marvin, I salute you from the bottom of my heart
You are so kind...🤗 Many thanks
This man plays originell, absolutly phantastic. I was allways listening in the early 60th radio luxemburg the station of the stars. Once a week there was a broadcast "Me and my Shadows". Cliff Richard and the Shadows played live. great
Hi Peter
You are so kind... Thank you !
I don't recall this one Christian!!.. but never the less it sounds bloody good!!.. Thanks mate!!.. Kevin.. 🙂
Hi Kevin
There have been so many Shadows tunes.... Difficult to remember all...
If you want to see other band musicians, I have a playlist where we all appear. It is there:
ruclips.net/video/dXdPIClRGks/видео.html
Of course there are less videos as it takes a lot of time to make them...
Cheers - Christian
Another master piece.no doubt
Thank you !
So good to hear these early tunes, great version as original.
Thank you !
Superbe Mustang...

Bien cordialement - Christian
Great original Hank sound
and well played.😀
Thank you Ivor
Well done Chris. One of my favourite early shadows tunes, you are superb musicians and your sound is perfect. Bravo.
Hi Roger
Thank you very much, in name of the band.
Don't know how you do it, but you keep coming up with the very best renditions and sounds , I've ever heard, keep it true my friend , you are exceptional in every way
Hi Ken
Thanks again for all your pleasant comments.
Note that I am not alone in these realizations. These results are also for a large part due to my friends of the Virtual Shadows Tribute.
Bravo, the sound is very nearly at original of 1960.
Greetings from Chile
Alex
Great job on this early shadows tune , from one of the first albums, with that guitar and drum rhythm I can almost see those horses galloping
Thank you very much Stewart.
Tabs ok fantastikkkkk Perfetto yeeesss
sublime x
Thank you !
I still have the vinyl album with this track and this so damn close!
Fabulous version Virtual Shadows. Thank you.
Thank you Derek !
❤️❤️❤️
😇
Great tone and above all, great phrasing! Hank is deceptively difficult to copy and you have captured the feel really well. There are lots of Shadows’/Hank imitators online but it’s always the subtlety of touch, use of the vibrato bar and timing that are missing. Thanks for bringing back memories of one of the first tunes I learned to play many years ago!👍🤗
Thank you for these so kind comments. I am also very lucky to play with other musicians who share the same objectives and do their best to restitute the spirit of these vintage tunes.
This is just "spot on" Christian, both playing and tone.
Very well done sir !
Dave
What a great music, nice cover sir ! Respect from 19 years old french ! ;)
A bientôt j'espère 😉👍
Merci beaucoup.

@@springer16900 bonjour Christian . Je vais regarderai les vidéos cet après-midi. Je me réjouis déjà.

Thank you Joop

Hi
Confirm that I am using modern VST plugins technology to get the sound.
One good laptop, a good audio USB interface with minimum latency, VSTHost software and a collection of VST plugins. An optional chineese VOX for (seldom) live performances.
Guitar is a Strat Plus (first series) to which I replaced Sensor pickups by 57/62 ones.
I do no believe in vintage equiment/instruments. It may work for a few early years tunes but not for the entire (or others) repertoire.
Cheers - Christian
Hi Christian, sounds amazing, well done , great sound

Hi again Chris,
I have been a fan of early shadows music since 1960, I am now 70 but never realised their music was so popular elsewhere in Europe and they never' 'broke ' the USA. When did you and the boys first discover these great tunes and decide to cover them? Love your versions, they are the best I've heard.
Hi Roger,
My case is quite similar to yours. I catched the guitar virus (...) after having heard Apache by the Shadows. When I was a teenager, I played during a few years within a band, mainly Shadows tunes, but I had to stop because of army, marriage, children, professional life, etc... This during more than 40 years. I restarted guitar only at my retirement 12 years ago. I logically restarted by Shadows music, since I still had some memories, and I started to work at their sounds, using more modern solutions. More recently we created this virtual band with some friends. Because we all live far from each others, we work remotely, by exchanging our instrument audio files, and also video files.
Our bassman is making very nice videos of our band if you are interested? You can see them on his RUclips Channel that is "cricrimusic". It's here:
ruclips.net/video/0aXrsoNvDpk/видео.html
Note that there is a playlist for our band (Virtual Shadows Tribute). His videos are much better than mine and you can see all band members.
Unlike some other people making covers, we have specialized ourselves at making 'clone' covers of Shadows tunes. To a point we are sometimes accused to simply mime original tunes. We feel very honoured when we get such feedback...lol...
Best regards - Christian
Thank you for your trouble in replying in great detail. You and the band stay safe in these strange times.
@@rogercorbett3601 At least we respect distancing between us... LoL...
Fully agree !
Cheers - Christian
ruclips.net/user/cricrimusic

Great job
Many thanks Steven
Thank you Phil
Concerning our mixes, il is true that theiy are generally more 'sharp' that originals. This is probably due for a part to the use of digital technologies. But we don't dare to reproduce vinyl low bandwidth nor all these vintage artefacts. We could do it as I have plugins capable of doing it, but we are attached to produce things that are reproducible in live conditions.
Cheers - Christian
AS ALL WAYS VERY GOOD MR I LIKET TNS
Thank you George
Hi Chris, was it you in a band called the outlaws in 1963? Saw a small article on discogs the other day and the timeline seems to fit?🎸🎸☺️
Hi Roger
Yes it was. We were so young then...😭
I wonder if the inspiration for this one was the Fender Mustang ?
It was on a record in 1960 or 1961.
Thank you very much, for your valuable time to respond.

Great sound Christian! What kind of echo or delay do you use?
Hi Joe
I am not using any hardware device. What I am using is a solution of mine, based on VST technology. You will find more info on my forum here:
vintage-sounds.freeforums.net
You need to register to access all the information, but it is free of course. On my forum, I also distribute my solution (it's free also...) to all people who are interested. So you can at least try...

@@springer16900 Thank you Christian. I just joined your group. When I have a sound file or two to send you, I will. Keep it going!
@@joeloesch1219 Hi Joe. I just validated your registration. So now you have access to all forum sections except package download. I recommend you read the documentation available on the forum first, so you will know the system principles and what is required to use it. If you are OK with all this, then fill in the package request form to have access to the download section. This form is aimed at collecting a few technical information on your equipment (PC audio interface...), so we can help you in case of difficulty. See you on the forum then.
The forum is mainly aimed at providing support, but you can also post your recordings there, as many people do. We have all the levels here, from beginners to gifted guitarists, and also dummies to geeks in terms of computers. But we all live in good intelligence, help each others, and there is avery good spirit on the forum. Forum is bilingual French/English .
Best regards - Christian
