      Music is obviously personal. I beg to differ. Yes The British Riviera is more refined, more main stream, therefore has had most exposure. I know Joseph Mount has, or had single handedly just about written and composed all of their music, and it may be coincidence, and they were heading in the direction they have ended up in, but the raw intense electronica appeared to fizzle out when Gabriel Stebbing left. Based on this, I believe Nights out is their greatest work, followed by Pip Paine (Pay the £5000 you owe)

    I started to listen to this album in a holiday trip, and we always arrived when only half of the album was played. When I had the chance to listen the other half, I was amazed
    Sorry for my bad english...

    The bass flute sound on the synth reminds me of an African instrument but I don't know which one I don't think it's the Fulani flute (flûte peule in french in any case) ... Can someone who knows about it help me?

      he “heard baby’s got the loving arm”
      but he “never gets too close”
      cause he “likes to get results”
      still he “is gunning down the coast to love”
      what’s there to not understand, pretty self-explanatory i would say xd

    • @mulllhausen
      @mulllhausen 2 года назад

      @@utanima you would say wrong then lol

    • @utanima
      @utanima 2 года назад +2

      @@mulllhausen well, if you wanna dig deeper into the meaning of the song, here's my interpretation (which is probably wrong, because i'm pretty sure these are just some cheesy-ass lyrics for easy-listening):
      basically, the song is about a guy likes a girl (baby's got the loving arm) but he is struggling with his commitment issues (i never get too close) because relationships can take up your time and energy, so he's trying to rationalise his feelings and wether he should get involved at all (i like to get results), however it seems like his passion for this girl is much stronger and is starting to overwhelm his commitment issues (i'm gunning down the coast to love).
      if we follow this logic, in the end "love wins" because the second half of the song is just about "baby having the loving arm" and nothing else, so it seems that his love for the girl overtook all of his thoughts and what's more, the second half is more dynamic instrumentally, which could be interpreted as: only when he finally let go of his reservations and emraced his feelings, new developments started to take place in his life
      but again, i'm probably just projecting my issues on the song lol (it's amazing tho, probably my favourite by the band, peak metronomy)
