I feel your pain mate, as a fellow retiree, I’d suggest you look into passive index fund investing and learn some more. For me, I had my share of ups and downs when I first started looking for a consistent passive income so I hired an expert advisor for aid, and following her advice, I poured $30k in value stocks and digital assets, Up to 200k so far and pretty sure I'm ready for whatever comes.
When the market goes down then it's buying opportunity. If the market goes up then you are making money. If you stay invested and ignore the market's ups and downs, you'll make a lot of money in the long run; however, a severe market correction causes a lot of margin calls and sell-offs, driving the market even lower. currently, I'm up 13% in my diversified portfolio. As crazy as it sounds some still make enormous returns from this seemingly unknown market. gotta be greedy when others are fearful

The best strategy is to start buying in slowly and then gradually increase the pace of buying as the prices continue to drop. Cash isn't king at all in this era

I like selling weekly OTM puts with about 10% of my money. If I end up obtaining a stock, I simply sell ATM calls the next week. If things look dicey, I'll buy a lower OTM put for protection. With the rest, I'm simply buying the US stock market (i.e., SPTM, SPLG, IVV, VTI). I'm mid-thirties, married, own 1 home.
For an old guy like me that doesn't have 30 years to invest. I think the fixed index annuity is a great choice. As long as you don't have to take the money early. I done really well with my 7 year fixed index annuity and now have taken all of that money and bought a 5 year with it. Same deal with ladder CD's. they work well as long as you are not going to have to take money out of them before they mature.. My 2 cents...

Ouch. Okay now why not trade forex. For 3 months I was advised to get started so I took some classes. Then invested $3000 in a broker, then let my tutor manage the account, currently that trading account is $48,000. You can start trading it’s really a good way to make extra bucks. From a financial point of view, the pandemic has been a good break for me, especially with college funds.

AHP investing- 10% return, money is tied up for 5 years. Public.com- 2.5% with money not invested in stocks. Worthy bond- 5% Netspend saving- 5% up to $1000. Can have 5 accounts =$5,000 for 5%. These are what I am using currently but higher risk and are possible to loose all of my money so it's a gamble. Oh well.
I get all of what you say APART from the last two. I don't know how you can claim that p2p lending and crowd funding can be considered low risk. Sure they may be good investments but they are not at all low risk in any way shape or form.

I think you have 4 and 5 switched most of the preferred stocks I have seen have a lower dividend then the common and cost more but the more guaranteed dividend makes it safer. Examples are FTR (cut the dividend to zero for the common), CBL (cut the dividend to zero for the common), and WPG (27.8% dividend and is considered risky right now) T is at 5.34% BP is at 6.66% MO is at 6.46% PM is at 5.68% BTI is at 6.52% DUK is at 4.23% NNN is at 3.77% (and is at the top of the price range right now) ABBV is at 5.44% You also need to differentiate REITs, MLPs, CLOs, and BDC's
Regarding the TIPS: My husband comes from Argentina, so we know that the government CAN lie about the actual inflation rate. Just saying; I wouldn't trust their "reported" rate which will doubtless be used to calculate the interest on these investments.

Preferred. I heard that South Korea preferred shares trade at a big discount to the common. Also that market hasn't really gone anywhere in comparison to the economy so its undervalued generally. Some time has passed so I'm not sure if the opportunity is still there. If so, then a selective basket approach may be a good way to go. Unfortunately I do not yet have a QFI set up.

Lucky to get .5% on a high yield now. CDs paying less than 1% as well.
Unreal how bad it is. Before the pandemic I had a 2% interest rate with Wealthfront now I am at .5% with Amex. It's horrible that my $100k in my high yield only gives me a little over $40 a month in interest. I am jumping ship. It's not worth relying on interest rates.
In India you 6% return in savings account and some banks offer like around 8% to senior citizens.

I like selling weekly OTM puts with about 10% of my money. If I end up obtaining a stock, I simply sell ATM calls the next week. If things look dicey, I'll buy a lower OTM put for protection.
With the rest, I'm simply buying the US stock market (i.e., SPTM, SPLG, IVV, VTI). I'm mid-thirties, married, own 1 home.

For an old guy like me that doesn't have 30 years to invest. I think the fixed index annuity is a great choice. As long as you don't have to take the money early. I done really well with my 7 year fixed index annuity and now have taken all of that money and bought a 5 year with it. Same deal with ladder CD's. they work well as long as you are not going to have to take money out of them before they mature.. My 2 cents...

Ouch. Okay now why not trade forex. For 3 months I was advised to get started so I took some classes. Then invested $3000 in a broker, then let my tutor manage the account, currently that trading account is $48,000. You can start trading it’s really a good way to make extra bucks. From a financial point of view, the pandemic has been a good break for me, especially with college funds.

Public.com- 2.5% with money not invested in stocks.
Worthy bond- 5%
Netspend saving- 5% up to $1000. Can have 5 accounts =$5,000 for 5%.
These are what I am using currently but higher risk and are possible to loose all of my money so it's a gamble. Oh well.

I think you have 4 and 5 switched most of the preferred stocks I have seen have a lower dividend then the common and cost more but the more guaranteed dividend makes it safer. Examples are FTR (cut the dividend to zero for the common), CBL (cut the dividend to zero for the common), and WPG (27.8% dividend and is considered risky right now)
T is at 5.34%
BP is at 6.66%
MO is at 6.46%
PM is at 5.68%
BTI is at 6.52%
DUK is at 4.23%
NNN is at 3.77% (and is at the top of the price range right now)
