👉As with any RVers worst nightmare, water is definitely not part of the construction build. Trying to build a watertight RV is probably the biggest challenge of the RV industry. Yet, the biggest challenge doesn’t come from the drawing boards of engineers putting those together on paper, but most likely the human factors that are the uncontrollable variant of RV construction.

Some of these issues you’d think should have been caught in QC at the factory, or if not at PDI at the dealer. Maybe they need to incorporate some sort of accountability in inspections IE boss randomly checks a few ready to ship units, and if the slide control is backwards on a rig the QC inspector said is good, QC guy is going to get one of those “how long you been working here now, not counting tomorrow” type conversations.

Yeah, it’s crazy how the RV industry runs like that. If this were automotive or aviation, when errors like these are found there’d likely be correction at the process where the error was made and at the inspection that didn’t catch it. Maybe an educational/opportunity to improve the first time. Happens a couple more times and it’s time to correct a bad hiring decision.

Thanks to this lovely couple I will never buy an RV with a slide-out.
It’s not all slides. You don’t want a schwintek or cable slide. You want a flush slide with a rack and pinion mechanism.
Plus that rv has been trashed at a show.
True but how many slides do they show that we're not aligned or not sealed?
It is definitely hard to have a perfect slide, sealed and operational as intended. Yet there is a lot of them working good 😁...we just happen to find a lot 🤔 😅
@@civilizedsasquatch6722 I’ve seen videos where the slides were good. Remember their job is do inspections and they show us what they find, we wouldn’t be watching if the inspections were all good.
As a result they teach us what to look for in our own RV’s to head off large maintenance.
Quality control would require that the assembly line stop until the issue(s) are identified and a solution implemented. From the video evidence here, and in the many Blue Ox videos I’ve viewed, and in my own experience, this is not done, nor will it get done, as long as dealers accept the units, and knowingly pass them on to the unsuspecting buyer. PDI is not the answer, the dealer doesn’t have any incentive to fix manufactured problems if the dealer is willing to sell them. Inspections are key to breaking this cycle. The accountability must come from the buyer, willing to hire the inspector, and willing to walk away from a bad deal. If you must buy an RV in this market, go check out the line of RVs waiting in line for service or repair at your dealer and see for yourself how long it will take to get your “warranty” claim processed. A Texas dealer I dealt with once had acres of RVs waiting on repairs,, so when they told me “two weeks” I knew they were lying.

What kind of moisture tester do you use I've purchased two of them and I really wasn't happy with them kind of false readings telling me something is completely wet when it's not
You definitely have to learn how to read false readings, from structure and metal...it's a tool that requires experience...exactly the reason why they do not teach this practice at school!
It's a tool to verify possibilities, like a FLIR instrument would as well...

I would keep on looking! Everything that the Blue Ox team found, besides the scratches, stains, and scuffs, is a reflection of poor workmanship and quality checks at the factory! Anyone buying this product had better ✔️ check the unit they purchase before leaving the dealership! These are issues that are going to ruin your RV experience! Once you drive away from the dealership, the dealer could care less what your issue(s) are! The manufacturer too! 14:09

Your videos are very strange for me. Sometimes they have sound sometimes they don’t. I’ll test it with another video, everything is fine, go back to yours and no sound. Reboot the app still no sound on yours but others are fine and this is on multiple of your videos.
Edit: Sound came back on your video when discussing the slides and I went back to the beginning and no sound for that section.
Just went through the whole thing flawlessly 🤔
@@blueoxontherun9188 No, the problem is that you often have sections that come out of one speaker only. If @winepunk is missing audio completely, she may not have sound in stereo. Why there are mono sections, I don't know. I figured it was an issue during the editing phase, which is the most likely answer.
