I don't usually comment on a sponsor spot, but good on HP for making more of their products user upgradeable/serviceable! I feel like Framwork has pushed some companies in this direction a little bit, but no matter the reason, it's good to see.
Was thinking the same i had a huge difference on a cheap build for family to play cs & fortnite (a ryzen 5 2400G with 2x8gb 3000mhz) it didn't make alot more fps but latency & frametime's were much better
A lot of ryzen 9 7940 and 7840 mini PCs do really good in games but I think they are scared to review them because it might hurt their pc business. You can use the usb 4 (compatible with tb3) to run external video cards but the 780m gpus in them are nice. The GTR7 and GTR7 pro for instance.
It might have been the 1 stick of ram I thought in this video you were about to upgrade it and compared 1 stick vs 2 stick of ram and who knows it'd might have helped.
I'd have added a second stick of 16GB RAM and then set 8GB for dedicated video RAM, that would have improved the experience. 16GB single channel and needing to be used for graphics as well as running the game is never going to be great. You would have had less lag with two 8GB sticks as you wouldn't have the CPU and GPU fighting over that single memory channel.
Indeed it would have. But since they were reviewing the product as is, this is what we get. These mini PC's are decent for light gaming, but you do indeed need dual channel so the GPU and CPU don't have to fight over the bandwidth of one channel.
I think dual-channel RAM would have helped since there was contention for RAM access between CPU and GPU functions. I'm not saying it would be amazing, but it should definitely improve things. If this was a laptop, you likely would have opened it up and put a second stick in to show the difference - you should have here too.
"Gaming PC" is not going to always be a PC that plays the 3 or so games you guys test. A pc like this could be used for great games like Black Mesa, Fallout New Vegas, Fallout 3, Elder scrolls morrowind, Ashes 2063(free), Doom 1 and 2, Age of Empires 2 HD etc... Then throw launchbox on it and never look back. It is capable of playing better quality games than any millenial or previous generation had growing up.
That is a vastly different proposition that is capable of emulating just about any console game except those from the latest generation. It will even legitimately run the vast majority of PC games at 1080p. You'll have to go to 720p on Alan Wake 2 but that will probably be the only one. Starfield should run at a solid 30fps at 1080p on a 7840u. I think Hogwart's would as well. Could probably squeeze out 60fps in Cyberpunk with FSR.
@@Lurch-Bot r7 7840hs is better because of the higher clock speed and the tdp is pretty low because of the awesome energy efficiency on ryzen 7000 series
I loved the vid but i have 1 question, could i use the cpu, ram, ssd, wifi adapter (if included) , and some other parts and just get a pc case, motherboard, gpu, and a psu and build a pc?
you can adapt thunderbolt to connect to either the nvme pcie or the Mini PCie for the wifi. I'm 100% positive one of those will have an adapter cable and you could connect a gpu that way. just power the Gpu externally. and get drivers
find Beelink make miniPC better i have a nice beelink ser5 pro 5800H and its pretty nice device, though the vega 8 is not something to be amazed by,,,, though it can handle some games.
Please buy and review this motherboard from temu. Or has anyone else bought it and tested it??Maxsun B450M Motherboard Gaming Desktop M-ATX DDR4 USB3.2 PCIE 3.0 Placa Mae Supports CPU AMD AM4 Ryzen R3 R5 5600/4500/3600.
Yeah im surprised you didn't dual channel the ram to see if it is creating a bottleneck that single ram does cause. Also you didn't strip the heatsink to verify if the processor is the genuine product and not faked.
They have 8 bit output. So basically any streamed 4k video on Netflix or RUclips stutters. They all suck. Tried 4 different ones before giving up. Maybe the Intel NUCs are better. But as an HTPC no bueno
I think this would work best a entrainment PC older 4k TVs you can watch streaming services with vpn to get non US regions TV shows/sports upload your bo^ot legged 4k /2k movies and run old school PC and PS1-3 Xbox and Nintendo games with emulators . Or a good Grandma/pa basic PC to take in their RV that has a Starlink internet or as simple compact daily driver for web browsing, Facebook , movie streamer, emails but no gaming this could last for years.
I can't recommend this type of mini-PC at all for use and gaming because as time goes by, you'll start to feel sorry for yourself and want to save more and build a PC with parts that you chose. Now, if you really need it because you don't have any way to access the Internet comfortably and for your work, go ahead, but don't expect to play comfortably on it!
Sometimes I don't get you guys. You should have known this wasn't the type of experience you should have had with a 5900HX. Plenty of other videos on RUclips with people reviewing mini PC's with the same 5900HX getting double the performance you guys got. Who knows what goes on with a product from Temu but it general, this wasn't an accurate portrayal of what to expect from a mini PC with this chip and that is a disserve to your viewers, especially if someone is looking at picking one up.
l hope you will read this am from africa in kenya and we dont usually have this things in our stores please help me out.l would like to be the first streamer from my country soo l hope yu could help me.
these mini pcs make better classic game emulators than new game machines
Yeah
I don't usually comment on a sponsor spot, but good on HP for making more of their products user upgradeable/serviceable! I feel like Framwork has pushed some companies in this direction a little bit, but no matter the reason, it's good to see.
I wonder if having dual channel RAM might have made a difference unless there wasn't a 2nd slot to add a second stick of RAM.
more than sure it would have made a quite big difference
It had 2 slots. Just 1 stick
Was thinking the same i had a huge difference on a cheap build for family to play cs & fortnite (a ryzen 5 2400G with 2x8gb 3000mhz) it didn't make alot more fps but latency & frametime's were much better

been loving my ser7
regarding your sponsors, i have used HP's Support RUclips channel to fix a few of my HP laptops. the videos are clear and helped me a lot.
It might have been the 1 stick of ram I thought in this video you were about to upgrade it and compared 1 stick vs 2 stick of ram and who knows it'd might have helped.

You would have had less lag with two 8GB sticks as you wouldn't have the CPU and GPU fighting over that single memory channel.
Or if they had another 8 GB stick lying around they could have installed that 24 GB would have been nice.
Lol, sounded like he said "thanks to hp for sponsoring today's Nvidia" 🤣
I would have liked to see a comparison with dual channel RAM
Wouldn’t of putting a second stick of ram and having dual channel have helped?
Indeed it would have. But since they were reviewing the product as is, this is what we get. These mini PC's are decent for light gaming, but you do indeed need dual channel so the GPU and CPU don't have to fight over the bandwidth of one channel.
It having a m.2 could prolly allow a m.2 to pcie for a actual external gpu to be added, would never recommend a thunderbolt for a egpu
I think dual-channel RAM would have helped since there was contention for RAM access between CPU and GPU functions. I'm not saying it would be amazing, but it should definitely improve things. If this was a laptop, you likely would have opened it up and put a second stick in to show the difference - you should have here too.
and there was a heavy bottleneck with the integrated graphics and the cpu, considering how the cpu hasnt even hit 50% when they benchmarked it
"Gaming PC" is not going to always be a PC that plays the 3 or so games you guys test.

Can Jackson drop cuple Macklemore bars in his onesie 😂
and about video editing and music creation ? is it good or not ?
dam with a external gpu this good actually be a good gaming rig
Check a mini pc with 780m integrated graphics because I found interesting benchmarks for this rdna 3 igpu

I may get mini Pc replacement of my old office Pc
holding the sniper not scoped in: "i cant even see the crosshairs"
I loved the vid but i have 1 question, could i use the cpu, ram, ssd, wifi adapter (if included) , and some other parts and just get a pc case, motherboard, gpu, and a psu and build a pc?
No
do you have give aways for subscribers abroad? been always watching your videos
these are not on temu site in new zealand :( the link posted does not work
Would there be a way to hook an external pcie to it?
We need an Erying version, immediately.
what about dual channel ram?
Second Ram Stick ?
you coul throw in the ram stick from the other mini pc just like it you have setting there and test how it is with both channels.
They should try games like doom or doom eternal or heavy games in all the benchmarks Fortnite or CS go are pc friendly
you should connect a GPU to this with a thunderbolt adapter.
you can adapt thunderbolt to connect to either the nvme pcie or the Mini PCie for the wifi. I'm 100% positive one of those will have an adapter cable and you could connect a gpu that way. just power the Gpu externally. and get drivers
I don't see Thunderbolt on this device. You have 3.2 ports that do not specify the speed so I'm gonna assume they're only 10Gbps, which is not enough.
If it has usb 4 ports, they are compatible with tb3. I think those only have 3.2 usb c
Or they could make the nvme slot the connector
Why didn't you add a 2nd stick of RAM for comparison?
I was wondering that myself. It looked like there was another slot to add a 2nd stick.
They want to be able to squeeze 2-3 videos out of this product. That will be another video.

The newer AMD APU 780 can play cyberpunk!
what a bout a gpu thru the usb-c
With such poor airflow, I can imagine it works as both a mini-PC and a **WAFFLE IRON**
Add an external GPU to this mini pc and benchmark and post a video
Yeah im surprised you didn't dual channel the ram to see if it is creating a bottleneck that single ram does cause. Also you didn't strip the heatsink to verify if the processor is the genuine product and not faked.
Exactly what I was thinking
They have 8 bit output. So basically any streamed 4k video on Netflix or RUclips stutters. They all suck. Tried 4 different ones before giving up. Maybe the Intel NUCs are better. But as an HTPC no bueno
Again, a $250 optiplex build would murder the gaming performance of this, but it would probably kill some cloud gaming.
why would I con/ to watch if I can't get this one here??
I think this would work best a entrainment PC older 4k TVs you can watch streaming services with vpn to get non US regions TV shows/sports upload your bo^ot legged 4k /2k movies and run old school PC and PS1-3 Xbox and Nintendo games with emulators . ... can it play cities: skylines 2 though?
It can probably play SimCity 2000.
No. A 780M iGPU probably can though.
I am external GPU person😅 over m.2 or thunderbolt
cool pc
I wanna see emulation on this
Yeah, since that's really all it is good for.
This system need those 2nd stick of ram badly if you want to game
When you turn on the pc 🖥 💀💀💀
This why Temu isn't called Techmu lol
I can't recommend this type of mini-PC at all for use and gaming because as time goes by, you'll start to feel sorry for yourself and want to save more and build a PC with parts that you chose.
