Greg, again thank you so much for this series of videos. One may think that you can tinker with mechanical (manual or automatic) watches, but there's this Casios that can provide learning experience and satisfaction if you can successfully make them better than the original. Keep'em coming.
Thank you for the excellent videos and showing how the mod works on the different models. Did the timer mod and now my W800H watch is wonderful! Thank you for teaching us how to get the autorepeat function to work on the Timer.
Makes me glad the F201WA exists, a cheap Casio with a stock timer. Wish you didn't have to mod these ones, but it makes the A178W a lot more attractive to me, thanks for showing us Greg!
Great video. I didn’t know this was possible. Do you know if this is possible to do with the DBC32? It’s all I wear and I’ve been thinking of buying a different watch because I need a CDT w auto repeat for training; but I much prefer this watch with a CDT because it’s such a great watch.
Hi Greg! Loved your video! I was wandering if you could help me in getting a casio model that would have a countdown in the main menu, super easy to activate. I'm an health profissional and during my work with the patients I need to set a countdown timer (5min minimum, 1h max) but without taking my attention from the patient.
Because otherwise there would be no reason to sell F-201WA on the same board with both features activated (5 alarms and the timer) but with lower WR rating.
the result is that Casio ends up losing sales and preferences to Skmei which offers the same watch, but with all features: CountDown, 5 Alarms and better backligh. 4 times even cheaper
Amazing, thanks a lot for the video! Is it possible to achieve somehow to have one, or two beeps when autorepeat starts again? To switch the long beeps to hourly chime for example 🤔
Waoo Greg ! fantastic ! Is It possible to do that Mod on Gshock 5600UE-1jf, I thought it was the perfect watch but It have not Auto Repeat countdown like the modest 5600E-1V Module 1545. Greetings from Spain
Unfortunately you were talking over the countdown timer alarm so I could not hear how long it was beeping. I need the timer for repeat training intervals of 30secs with a brief alarm sound or vibrate.....will this mod do it or are there other other casios with such a feature? I have a gshock 5600 with repeat timer but the repeat alarm is too long/annoying for such a short interval. Thanks.
There’s a persistent myth going around the watch collecting community which basically says that water resistance will NEVER be any good after the watch is opened. So, from the factory you get the expected water resistance but after just one battery change you should treat it as if there’s zero water resistance. I don’t believe the myth at all. If changing a battery ruins water resistance then I would suspect user error.
I haven’t heard anyone say they’ve done it to the F105 so I am guessing the answer is no. I didn’t know about the countdown mod on these watches until a viewer left a comment on one of my videos and then I went searching to find out how to do it.
In W800 If you close the 3rd bridge you get 5 alarms function... perhaps the other bridges allow or lock some other functions. My only problem is I don't like this watches because they are bulky. I definitely prefer the LW204-1B. it eliminates all the F91 frustrations retaining all the benefits and seriously enhancing on functionality.
I'm about to buy another one just to mod it and I remembered I read online that they come with 2 different modules. Could it be that the odd one was one of those different modules? Could you tell me what module No. we're the ones you modded successfully? Thanks in advance.
hi. Is there somewhere a list of all casio watches with this auto repeat timer ? the gbd-200 has it, the dw-5600e-1ver as it, the gba-800 and gba-900 as well. But are there a list of all of them somewhere ? the higher end casio i am interested in fact. thank you
I can’t seem to find an easily-navigated database for that. I like Shockbase.org for more searches like that, although they are limited to G-Shocks and they don’t seem to go into details about auto-repeat timers anyway. I did a quick search at Casiofanmag.com for “timer” and it brings up several articles but it would take a while to read them all.
You can do another mod to enable 5 alarms instead of 1 but it has it's drawbacks also. For alarms 2-5 you won't know if you have the alarm turned on or not unless you listen to the beeps.
Now,let us see if you can lower the frequency of the alarm with a mod.A lower frequency should make the alarm more audible and thus sound louder................................................
I am not aware of anyone who’s done this to the GW-M5610. It already has a countdown timer as a stock function. What I HAVE seen is that some folks will modify the display on the GW-M5610 to change a negative LCD to a positive LCD or the other way around. To me, the mod I did was “Skill Level 2 or 3” while the LCD conversion looks more like “Skill Level 4 or 5”.
There are lots of Casios which come with countdown timers AND use the same battery these watches use AND have the same expected 10-year battery life. So, I don’t think this mod should affect battery life.

Did it to my w800h. Works perfectly, love them much more now, thanx! 👍
Thank you for the excellent videos and showing how the mod works on the different models. Did the timer mod and now my W800H watch is wonderful! Thank you for teaching us how to get the autorepeat function to work on the Timer.
Its funny to see those non multi band 6 watches running at the same time perfectly. Greg you re a thorugh Guy! Regards
At this point I would probably receive a lot of heat if I didn’t sync up the watches before recording video.
Makes me glad the F201WA exists, a cheap Casio with a stock timer. Wish you didn't have to mod these ones, but it makes the A178W a lot more attractive to me, thanks for showing us Greg!
Good watches for price. I have w800h and I love this watch.
Hello from Rio de Janeiro!
Greg, Nice video!

Wow! Nice video i've ever seen! Btw after do all of that.. is the watch still can be able be on water?
Hi Greg! Loved your video!

*You can make the timer to auto repeat?!?*
Master please teach us your ways.
Update: 9:34 *Woow!! It really does auto-repeat!*
Will the watch still have 10BAR Water Resistance ?can the stop watch have a counter for laps ?
If so, how many laps ?
I don’t understand why Casio don’t just give us the count down timer. What’s the big deal to them????
Because otherwise there would be no reason to sell F-201WA on the same board with both features activated (5 alarms and the timer) but with lower WR rating.

Hey @ElmertheClep, thanks for the video. Do you know if that mod works for the A168 as well? Thanks.
Think this could be done to the GD-350 since is has vibrating alarm but no auto repeat. I'm looking for a vibrating auto repeat count down timer .
Amazing, thanks a lot for the video! Is it possible to achieve somehow to have one, or two beeps when autorepeat starts again? To switch the long beeps to hourly chime for example 🤔
Hi Greg. Great video. Does this work on the A700WEG-9AEF model? Thanks

Alarms and timers sound for 10 seconds.
@@DanielFriis thanks for the info.
That’s a bargain price for a watch with 100 meters water resistance. Does opening the case compromise the WR

Wondering if it’s possible to mod a Casio F105 to have a countdown timer too??

@@GoodTimekeeper Ah okay, thanks! Hopefully there is someone brave enough to try!
I actually like the right side watch without the clutter

En los de repeticion automatico solo se puede configurar un tiempo? O puedo poner uno de 10 segundos que termine y luego que inicie u o de 20??

@@GoodTimekeeper i use shockbase as well but no auto-repeat timer in the research module. thank you.
Casio B640
You can do another mod to enable 5 alarms instead of 1 but it has it's drawbacks also. For alarms 2-5 you won't know if you have the alarm turned on or not unless you listen to the beeps.
Does Casio AE-1200 has this Auto-repeat feature or it can be activated ?
No, there is no auto-repeat feature in the countdown timer of the AE-1200. I don’t know if there’s a way to modify the watch to activate one.
A long time ago, I modded AQ-160 to have moon calendar and tide graph in a similar way. But the world time disappeared.
Hello. Tell me, can the w96h clock module be inserted into the a178w clock case?
I haven’t tried that.
Thanks. Is there any casio with built-in auto repeat function? I know one is b640, others?
The basic G shock, dw5600e, has it and a way better backlight and strap for about the same price as b640. I really can't recommend it enough
I wonder if this would work with my LA20WH?
Who cares? We love Casio watches!
Now,let us see if you can lower the frequency of the alarm with a mod.A lower frequency should make the alarm more audible and thus sound louder................................................
Especially for those of us with high level hearing loss. The big G shock with a vibrating alarm is nice.
Can you do this on gw-m5610??

Wonder if they disabled the countdown timer to prolong battery life. I would assume activating those circuits could reduce your battery life.
There are lots of Casios which come with countdown timers AND use the same battery these watches use AND have the same expected 10-year battery life. So, I don’t think this mod should affect battery life.
When i do that i lost my 12/24 hour mod
So… you broke it….
I changed it. I knew it would be different.
