When I had suggested Phantom Forces i was thinking of vs, comp and night march. had completely forgotten just how buck wild they went with this set, so many hugely powerful cards that are still expanded defining Loved this retrospect!
I absolutely love this series! As someone who's been in and out of the Pokemon TCG for a while it's nice seeing stuff I missed, and love the format/way you present it! Looking forward to the next one!
That thumbnail alone got me to subscribe!! Funny how I stopped playing during the phantom force era, then fast forward 10 years, im here collecting my missing gengar pieces 🥹
Why doesn’t PTCGL have full expanded!!! I miss being so toxic in PTCGO, the nostalgia from this deck. I still have my VS Seekers and Battle Compressors in real life
There are always so many different and cool strategies that get enabled by these cards. Even though I only highlighted Metalbox, Tyrantrum ex, M Rayquaza ex, Raichu XY, and a few others all were enabled by Bronzong. Great cards
5:07 A teaser! I knew Neo Genesis was the next video! ... That was a joke, by the way. Although Neo Genesis was easily the most impactful set of the Neo era, possibly up until that point when you consider how gradual the shift towards not letting your opponent play on turn 1 was, unless you count Psyduck in Dark Vileplume (Not letting your opponent play from turn 2 onwards is a different story, considering how immediate Dark Vileplume's impact was). Think about it... between Cleffa and the nine relevant Trainers in the set (There were a whopping 21 in total), Neo Genesis redefined how players drew cards, endured damage and preserved Special Energy, and it also introduced the most powerful attackers of both Standard and Modified, Sneasel and Feraligatr. Other Neo sets introduced new decks, but aside from a few Stadiums and EXP.ALL, the main thing existing decks gained was Tyrogue (And Igglybuff, for those condemned to play under Wizards' mistranslations). (I spent waaaaay too long writing my response to what was meant to be a brief moment of comedic relief. Now I've broken my immersion.)
I want to do Neo Genesis, but I have no reference for the playability of the cards other than Jason's Blog and some tabletop videos. I have not played more than 1 game of 2002 and no 2001, so I really can't make a video that's as good
@@WhimsicottTCG Wasnt even on Toad it was just a great one of in any deck. Helped me recycle stuff for game all the time like Blacksmith, Torch, Scorched earth etc

Love Phantom Forces, but man, 2.25 years of playing against Nightmarch was brutal.
Every other match was Nightmarch.
2 fn years.
Yeah... I'm glad I missed this period and can revisit it with fun decks instead

What if Lysandres trump card was reprinted in unbanned? In current format, I’d think that would be funny
that would be funny
We'd go back to a not fun meta
As an ace spec supporter, maybe.
Such a nice set. I just like the style
I really really want a Bronzong style card back in format, I was hooked on Flaaffy/miraidon and miss it really bad

Mew3 gx expanded, man..... the absolute horror i brought into ptcgo. Turn one wins, complete shut downs of any attackers.
Love VS Seeker
