Islands of Adventure - Lost Continent - Area Music Loop

- This is the complete music loop that plays in the area around the now-closed Poseidon´s Fury attraction at Islands of Adventure. To convey the feeling of an oriental / middle-east environment, the music is performed by exotic sounding instruments like the oud and zill (finger cymbals). The melodies in this loop make heavy use of the phrygian scale which is typically associated with music played in arabian regions. However this soundtrack is not 100 percent authentic music that would be performed in the middle east - since original music of this region is often classified as sounding "too unfamiliar" to European and U.S. customers, theme parks (and mainstream films) usually present "watered-down" soundtracks for themed lands and attractions related to "exotic" parts of the world. For example Dutch theme park Efteling went the same route when producing the soundtrack to its dark ride "Fata Morgana".

im also a fan of this land even if poseidons fury is kinda meh. Zelda incoming.
Me too, one of my favourite experiences at the park, the water screens, the water tunnel, the teleportation effect, the show is an special FX engineering marvel. Really sad more people don't seem to appreciate the effort put into creating something as unique as this. I knew this attraction had a water tunnel going into it but I had no idea about the rest of the show, I really enjoyed it and found it almost magical. It reminded me of the old special FX attractions they used to have that were really cool like Earthquake and Twister.

I worked in Treasures Of Poseidon every so often and hearing this reminds me of those times. Whenever they asked if anyone wanted to go work in that shop, I’d always volunteer because it was the only shop in The Lost Continent that had air conditioning. And, in humid Florida summers, wearing an all heavy linen costume uniform, it was the best place to be. If you worked in the other shops, or at one of the kiosks, when there was a silver announcement, you had to shut everything down because that meant there was lightning and thunder.
Hearing this music just makes me happy!

Wonderful! I wish there was a song video for the inside of the ride, such as the song playing during the water tunnel.
Sadly i wasn´t able to record the music inside the attraction.
@@listentothemeparks2309 think @blacklight7726 meant video of the water tunnel while this played. And I second the motion! The water tunnel is an incredible effect and this is some of the most beautiful music, it lets me relax enough to sleep at night.

Lost Continent is epic, I know Harry Potter pretty much stole it's thunder. Hopefully it will evolve, or bring some LOTR or GOTs down the road.
nicelyfaithful Maybe not GOTs (great show, but definitely not a good fit for a family-friendly theme park), but LOTR would be a perfect fit for the Lost Continent, and/or having LC evolve like you mentioned would be awesome on so many levels.
Heck, even if we were to ONLY consider the Greek Mythology theme of Poseidon’s Fury, it’s very much worth noting that Greek mythology alone is chock-full of stories and characters that could easily make for enough rides/attractions/shows/etc. to fill a whole section of its own. And that’s not including the wide range of other equally-viable mythologies (Egyptian, Norse, Celtic, etc.) or any of the other original and fan-based attractions ideas they could bring in as well.
Don’t get me wrong; I’m a big HP fan and Universal did a great job with their HP attractions. But I really feel that LC is sadly underrated these days and isn’t being given nearly as much of a chance to evolve as it honestly deserves.
It really is especially as it was created just for this park, credit to those who made such a cool themed land and attraction, I wish I had visited IOA again before duelling dragons was removed. Never got to ride those. Pretty cool that the trains were on weigh stations that would automatically time the lift hill so that the trains would run in sync down the main drop every time. Until they changed it.
Some people think Lost Continent might get replaced with a Legend of Zelda area.
i love posiedons fury but some don't but it one of my favorite attractions there
Ryan Hadley I absolutely agree. It’s such a shame that the old Lost Continent is being sidelined these days, particularly with Sinbad being closed down recently to make way for the newer Harry Potter attractions. Don’t get me wrong; I’m a big HP fan, and the HP attractions on the whole are really good, but IMHO Poseidon’s Fury (among a few others I could name) is sadly underrated these days.
This is perfect, thank you! Would it be possible to obtain the new Lost Continent music as well? The one played at the entry, by the sea griffin statue. It’s very similar, but with new tones added. It’s a lot more intense and has heavy bass.
