    The Golden Age Batman is one of the best! Certainly one of my favorite's. The Golden Age of Superhero's aka The Golden Age of comic books was truly a golden age. Although I was not around then it is fortunate that we all can relive those golden ages through the golden age comic books. Golden indeed!

    the first set of serials is choice. Owned it on DVD for a few years now... the 1943 movie serial is a must with with Lewis Nelson and Douglas Croft.

    Batman hates it when rich women are robbed of their jewels, he is reminded of his mother.

    This idea that the Joker and Catwoman are the only villains from the Golden Age that stayed relevant to the story is not correct. What about the Penguin? And the Riddler? And Scarecrow? And Two-Face? I would say that all important bat-villains are from the Golden Age except Ra's al Ghul and Bane...

    "Papa Spank" is in the first appearance of Catwoman as The Cat. He didn't punch her or slap her face - he grabbed her old lady disguise and pulled it off her face.

    Jerry Robinson shouldn't have to 'prove' anything. He gave Batman it's illustrative look. Kane was a HACK who couldn't DRAW!

    I say old boy, just because I'm going to throw you out a window is no reason to be rude. Now Marvel canceling FF in a fit of pique is. I think I'll send the Comics Code Authority after them. Especially the on with a mustache. And may I say you actually do a surprisingly good Batman voice. So many people for some reason think Batman sounds like someone who smoked for fifty years. I...I mean he is a wealthy playboy after all.

    I disagree, with Fredric Wertham's blue-pencil. However, he had done some redeeming things. Like writing, a GREAT treatise, on zines.

      No, he's not. Look how much Batman stories DC publishes compared to Superman. Batman sells, Superman smells.

      I think he co-created Robin, but I don’t know what he contributed. Probably at least helped with the design. He certainly conceived of the Joker, the clown criminal with a playing card motif, then Finger presumably brought the “Man Who Laughs” inspiration into it. There are some unused pages you can view online that seem to suggest Joker and Robin were being created at the same time (which checks out, Joker debuted in the very next issue released after Robin debuted.)

    For me,the Silver to Bronze Age Batman is the real Batman. This is what he should look like.Don't get me started on the modern armoured Batman,I hate this look and I don't want to see it as I think it spoils the essence of who he is and what he stands for.

    Hey Snyder Haters, what were you saying about Batman "Not Killing?" 😋

    • @cha5
      @cha5 3 года назад +5

      It’s very simple Snyder Bot, Batman certainly killed for a small period of the Golden Age, However he never did things on the scale of cold bloodedly branding criminals for a later behind bars execution curtesy of Gotham’s prison population. Something completely contrary to Batman’s code for over 80 years. And I’ll take Scott Snyder over Zack Snyder anytime when it comes to Batman.
