Perhaps one of the greatest nose-empowered operas of all time. Awesome commercials! Thank goodness that this fantastic upload has been excessively monetized! I don't now about you guys, but I believe music that's not interrupted over and over again with commercials is like a face without a nose.

Великолепно абсолютно все ! Благодарю Режиссера за такую потрясающую сценография .. Как чудесен Нос .. как уникально это исполнение в форме мультипликации 😍.. Какое счастье, что оперу урезали и добавили театральности .. Сценография и постановка просто гениальны 🔥 каждая сцена, каждый поворот сюжета обыграны превосходно ! А какая комната у майора Ковалева , вы видели? 🥰 Иван слуга ходит в шкаф и дыру в потолке 😁 .. Я счастлива, что увидела эту постановку .. Я смотрела вчера постановку нашу советскую 1979 года - какая скучная и просто невыразительная версия была… и голоса неприятные …А эта постановка просто шедевральная 🥰🥰
Зачем сравнивать несравнимое? Постановка 1979, конечно, не обладает такой красивой картинкой, сделанной при помощи современных технологий и большого бюджета, да ещё и на большой сцене. Но эта постановка с огромнейшим успехом объездила весь мир и, кстати, живёт до сих пор, является визитной карточкой Камерного театра, и даже сегодня многие из режиссерских находок, сделанные гениальным Покровским тогда в этом спектакле, до сих пор смотрятся очень современно.
Запись советского периода, на которую наложена студийная аудиозапись, смотреть не очень рекомендую (хотя не знаю, чем вам там голоса не угодили - поют хорошо), а вот в театре посмотреть это интересно.

Great production! Unfortunately, in this upload the opera is presented incomplete. Operas should be presented as the composer intended, without cuts. I understand that this upload is meant to showcase Vladimir Samsonov, who does a terrific job as Kovalev. Nevertheless, The Nose is not a long opera, and the cuts made here make the story, already a hard one to follow, even harder.
Cuts are a common place in opera. This "tradition" will simply not die. I can understand doing it with baroque operas, but not music-drama written after 1840.
The excuses to keep this going are many. Among them difficulty of performance. Do we cut symphonic works because performers are not up for prolonged solos?
I work in opera, and I wish this would just stop. I'm totally with you, I want them all uncut. The job of conductor and director is to shape the thing as is, not cut it down to their liking.
